The Finance Analyst plays a key role in supporting the financial management, reporting, planning, and analysis activities of the
business. This role has a broad remit over all parts of our finance function, supporting financial insight to support
decision-making, and partners with stakeholders across the organisation to drive business performance

THE ROLE As the Financial Analyst, you will take full ownership of the month-end processes and financial reporting for allocated entities. Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, you will drive general ledger accuracy by preparing detailed income statement variance analyses and balance sheet reconciliations. The ideal candidate will be a driven, analytical finance professional with a robust technical foundation, exceptional communication skills, and a proactive approach to continuous process improvement. Key Responsibilities and Duties * Owning month-end processes for allocated entities, ensuring accurate, timely, and complete reporting. * Preparing monthly income statements and providing detailed variance analysis. * Preparing monthly balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring any reconciling items are resolved promptly. * Performing regular bank postings and maintaining general ledger accuracy. * Supporting the preparation and submission of monthly and quarterly VAT returns. * Assisting with intercompany billing and reconciliations. * Acting as a key point of contact for external audits, including preparing schedules and responding to queries. * Partnering with operational teams to ensure accurate data capture and financial reporting. * Collaborating with in-country advisors and accountants to ensure strict compliance with local laws and regulations. * Delivering ad hoc reporting, analysis, and responding to information requests. * Identifying and implementing improvements to processes, systems, and reporting. * Contributing to finance projects and change initiatives. What are we looking for? If you can demonstrate some of the following experience/skills below, we would love to hear from you. * We’re looking for someone with 3–5 years of experience in a financial or management accounting role, ideally within the financial services sector. * Part-qualified and actively studying towards a professional qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent). * Strong experience handling month-end close, transactional accounting, and supporting external audits. * A curious, proactive mindset with a strong willingness to take initiative and ownership of tasks. * Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities and meeting tight deadlines. * Experience of working with a high-performing team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence. * Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, notably data manipulation and analysis; familiarity with Google sheets an advantage. * Experience working with ERP systems. MongoDB is seeking a Financial Analyst, Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) to grow our P&T FP&A team. You will be responsible for financial planning, forecasting, reporting, and partnering with various teams to drive decision-making and resource planning. The Analyst is expected to make significant contributions to the success of MongoDB by working with executives and team leaders to evaluate, plan, execute, and measure strategic business initiatives. This position requires an adaptable self-starter who is able to work comfortably and communicate clearly with stakeholders across the organization, progress tasks from start to finish, and enjoy working in a fast-paced, challenging environment. This will be a hybrid in-office/remote role, and we are looking for candidates who plan to be available in our NY/SF hubs. RESPONSIBILITIES: * Business Partnering: Quickly establish positive relationships and become a key advisor for the P&T Finance team allowing you to build a solid understanding of business drivers and ensuring alignment with overall company objectives * Reporting Coordination & Modelling: Build and maintain detailed financial and operating models to support your stakeholders in all aspects of their budget including headcount planning and optimization. EXPERIENCE: * A Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field (e.g Economics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or Finance) with at least 2-3 years of experience in financial planning and analysis, preferably in a dynamic and challenging environment. * Demonstrated ability to develop complex financial models, with excellent quantitative analysis and forecasting skills. * Strong G-Sheet and Slide skills is a plus, excel / PPT is ok * Ability to translate complex financial data into actionable insights that guide executive-level decision-making. * Proven capability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. * Synthesize weekly variances into concise narratives for executive leadership—going beyond the 'what' to explain the 'so what' * Comfort in dealing with ambiguity and the ability to derive insights from incomplete information. * A detail-oriented, highly organised self-starter with the ability to manage overlapping tasks and frequent priority changes. * Maintain a deep understanding of our finance processes and actively contribute to improving them, developing sustainable data management practices that allow the team to move fast. * Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional teams. * Proficiency in SQL and ERP systems, such as Oracle Essbase or Anaplan, is preferred.
