This position is based in Stockholm. Tacton builds software that the world’s largest manufacturing companies depend on to sell and deliver their most complex products. Our solutions are ranked # 1 in the world by Gartner and use proprietary technology with roots in cutting-edge computer science research. Our engineering organization has grown and is entering a new chapter: we are now investing in broadening our product with significantly more capabilities both from acquisitions and organic product development; as well as changing how we build our software, scaling the development organization through smaller long-lived teams, and putting AI agents to work across the development process. We are now looking for an Engineering Manager to help drive this change. You will take responsibility for people, delivery, and be a key contributor to set and drive our organizational strategy. This is a people leadership role for someone who has not stopped being an engineer at heart, and who enjoy thinking about and leading changes in software engineering. WHAT YOU’LL DO Lead and grow the people · Own teams. Take responsibility for up to ~15 engineers across different seniority levels, manage their performance, growth, and wellbeing. Share vision, set goals, remove impediments, and make sure nothing falls between the cracks. · Coach and develop. Run high-quality 1:1s, give feedback that lands, and genuinely help move careers forward in a rapidly changing software industry. · Set the tone. As part of the department’s leadership team, build a culture where engineers feel safe, trusted and motivated to take ownership and do their best work. OWN DELIVERY, END TO END · Ship reliably. Support your teams in delivering high-quality software, balancing the needs for both technical excellence and time to market. · Push ownership outward. Help us drive the shift to teams that own their software all the way to production, including design, development, deployment, and operations. · Connect the dots. Work closely with R&D management, Product Management, other technical leads and stakeholders to keep everyone aligned. HELP LEAD THE TRANSFORMATION · Change how we work. Be a key contributor in defining Tacton’s organizational vision and ways of working in the emerging new world of AI-native software development. Ask the right questions and help drive the changes needed. WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR · Proven experience leading 10+ engineers as direct reports, with the full spectrum of people management: hiring, coaching, performance, career development. · A genuine technical background in software development, ability to engage credibly with software engineers and understand their day-to-day challenges. · Experience from driving organizational change in engineering teams. You have led or been close to a real shift in how teams operate, not just observed one. · Practical experience with AI in software engineering, at a developer level and a leadership and organizational level. · Experience in companies of comparable scale to Tacton — you know how to navigate complexity without the resources of a large enterprise. · Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with real empathy and a low-friction, high-trust working style. · Experience from building B2B SaaS or equivalent, serving large enterprise customers with high expectations. · Strategic thinker with a business mindset. You optimize company outcomes and are able to align your teams around company goals. · Comfortable prioritizing and making difficult trade-offs in ambiguous situations where all facts may not be available. THE RECRUITMENT PROCESS · Screening call with our Global Talent Acquisition Partner · First interview with the hiring managers · Online personality test and logical ability test · Second interview round: opportunity to meet with multiple potential colleagues in a “rapid fire” interview format (several short interviews) · Grandparent interview · References and background check WHY TACTON · A solid and stable company with over 20 years of success in its industry. · An industry-leading product, ranked #1 by Gartner for four years running, used by some of the biggest manufacturers in the world. · A deeply technical and advanced product, based on proprietary technology with roots in cutting-edge computer science research, that combines symbolic AI and LLM AI with a rich enterprise-grade SaaS platform to offer unrivaled capabilities in its niche. · A strong engineering culture; we invest in developer experience and tooling and constantly looking to evolve and modernize how we work with software engineering to enable and empower our dev teams. BENEFITS · At Tacton, we’ve been building CPQ software for over 20 years. We’re a stable company with global customers and a product that’s central to how manufacturers sell · We offer competitive benefits, flexibility in how we work, and a culture that values learning and collaboration · A solid and stable company with over 20 years of industry experience. · Flexible hybrid setup - 3x a week at the office · 33 days of paid time off – 30 vacation days plus 3 extra to make sure you get the rest you deserve. · Premium occupational pension – Our pension plan goes beyond ITP1, with higher employer contributions depending on your age and salary level. · Generous wellness allowance – 5,000 SEK annually to support your health and wellbeing. · Private healthcare insurance – Skip the waiting lines and get quick access to private medical care, including specialist consultations and treatments. · Parental leave top-up – We top up your parental leave, so you receive up to 90% of your base salary for up to 6 months, helping you focus on your family without financial stress · Weekly treats – Fika one week, breakfast the next, because good food brings people together.
