UMC is looking for a Senior Epidemiologist to join our Pharmacovigilance Science section and strengthen our research into medicines safety using global safety and healthcare data. Since 1978, Uppsala Monitoring Centre (UMC) has been dedicated to developing, supporting, and expanding the field of pharmacovigilance science and practice.  As a World Health Organization (WHO) Collaborating Centre, we support work around the world to examine the potential adverse effects of medicines and vaccines and contribute to safer, more informed care of patients.  We are a diverse, international group of pharmacists, physicians, data scientists, system developers, communicators, and many other professionals motivated by a deep belief that the work we do matters. About the role As a Senior Epidemiologist, you will contribute epidemiological expertise to our research and scientific development activities. Working at the intersection of epidemiology, pharmacovigilance, and real-world data, and with VigiBase, the WHO global database of adverse event reports, as well as other healthcare databases and registries, you will design, conduct, and interpret studies that strengthen our understanding of medicine safety and support evidence-based decision-making. This is a hands-on role spanning the full research process, from study design and data management to statistical programming, analysis, and scientific reporting. Working closely with colleagues across disciplines, you will help generate evidence that advances the science and practice of pharmacovigilance. Project description The project aims to develop models that describe how HVDC installations affect, and are af-fected by, power quality in electrical networks up to 150 kHz. Measurements will be used to further develop existing models and to distinguish between primary and secondary emissions as well as nonlinear interactions. The results will provide the basis for a generalized model of emission and immunity related to HVDC installations.The study will also investigate network resonances, interactions between multiple HVDC in-stallations, and the effects on transformers and other grid-connected equipment. The project is carried out in collaboration between Luleå University of Technology (LTU) and Hitachi Energy. Duties A PhD position involves both theoretical and practical work. Department for Molecular Sciences Subject area: Biology Description of the PhD projects We are seeking two PhD students in the field of biogas production, with a focus on the digestion process. The biogas process is currently an important tool for achieving multiple societal benefits and environmental goals. Through anaerobic digestion, a wide range of organic waste streams and residues can be treated while simultaneously closing nutrient cycles and producing renewable energy and nutrient-rich biofertilizers. Biogas production also contributes to increased preparedness and self-sufficiency. The biogas process is driven by complex microbial communities that must remain balanced to ensure efficient and stable biogas production. At the Department of Molecular Sciences, research is conducted both on process operation and optimization and on process microbiology, often in close integration. The PhD projects will focus on the following areas, with some opportunity for the successful candidates to influence the detailed project design. Biogas production from agricultural feedstocks – Process optimisation. Biogas production in the agricultural sector is currently expanding rapidly, creating a strong need for new knowledge and technological development. As a PhD student in this project, you will operate and evaluate different laboratory-scale biogas processes with the aim of optimising both biogas production and biofertiliser quality. About the job Cryogenic Engineer Are you the engaged Cryogenic Engineer who will drive the next generation of SCALINQ's quantum hardware? You will together with the team develop the full cryogenic hardware lifecycle—from simulation to experimental testing. You'll solve complex challenges in low-temperature physics and provide the critical simulation feedback that shapes our technology roadmap. Good experience with SolidWorks Thermal, COMSOL Multiphysics or a similar thermal simulation software. Advanced skills in Python or MATLAB for data handling, analysis, and model automation. Ability to participate in experimental testing towards verification of simulation. Ability to use simulation results to guide hardware development. As a Traction Electrical Design Engineer, you will drive and support technical investigations and collaborate with many different functions within engineering, manufacturing and suppliers to deliver smart, innovative propulsion products to customers all over the world. In this role you will be responsible for Electrical Harness Integration and design and creation of relevant documentation. Define interfaces, analyze costumer requirements and support prototype activities related to this area. Plan and coordinate the work related to this area. As a converter electrical design engineer, you must have a passion for bringing both people and all the technical details together. In this role you will have the opportunity to be part of all phases in the product life cycle from design to final validation, and field support once our products are delivered to customers. We’ll look to you to: Design and Integrate Electrical Harness and all relevant documentation for our traction products. Plan and lead the work of a small project team of engineers both onsite and offsite related to this area. Drive and support technical investigations and design activities related to this area for products in development and in the field. Define electrical interfaces. Analyze customer requirements As part of the development team, perform one or more of the following development activities, design and Integrate electrical Harnesses, support prototype and pre-series in production. Support product lead with bid support, analyzing requirements from customers or system architects and translate them into requirements related to the circuit diagram design routine test for the converter product.
