Team, you will focus on testing self-driving software and vehicle platforms for Mobility-as-a-Service (MaaS) and
Transportation-as-a-Service (TaaS) use cases as well as real-world deployments.
At our state-of-the-art Proving Ground at Munich Airport, we plan, conduct, and analyze testing activities on
a daily basis in close collaboration with multiple test environments across MOIA.
In doing so, we play a key role in advancing the development of autonomous solutions at scale. As

JOIN US AS A (SENIOR) BACKEND ENGINEER (ALL GENDERS) IN OUR VEHICLE MISSION TEAM ON A SHARED JOURNEY THAT MATTERS! To make the vision of an autonomously driving mobility service a reality, the teams in our Vehicle Integration domain develop the applications and tools needed to enable autonomous passenger management within our MOIA vehicles in a world without a driver: How do passengers authenticate themselves in an autonomous vehicle? How do we ensure a safe cabin during boarding and the ride? Which content should be displayed on the vehicle screens to provide a safe and informative user experience for the passenger? The Vehicle Mission team addresses these challenges by building the mission control backend that orchestrates autonomous vehicle operations. The team develops the orchestration of driving tasks to autonomous vehicles, coordinates passenger boarding workflows, and ensures reliable communication between backend systems and on-vehicle components. This includes integrating with external self-driving system providers and providing test infrastructure and tools for autonomous vehicle development. The team has the necessary roles to take full responsibility for the given value streams: from backend and embedded developers to quality specialists, cyber security experts and product owners. Within this domain, all activities for integrating the entire Robot-Taxi-Service out of several subsystems are conducted. WHAT WILL HELP YOU TO FULFILL YOUR ROLE * Previous experience as a Release Manager/Engineer or in a similar role, coordinating software releases in a fast-paced environment. * Strong understanding of software development lifecycle and/or ASPICE and the application within agile environment. * Familiar with CI/CD practices and tools. * Experience with software application life cycle management (i.e. Polarion, Codebeamer, Jama, ...) and ability to orchestrate releases from such tools. Simulation and virtual validation are at the heart of enabling autonomous driving systems to evolve rapidly while maintaining the highest standards of safety and reliability. To strengthen our Virtual Testing capabilities, we are looking for Simulation Engineers who are passionate about building and scaling advanced simulation infrastructure. In this role, you will help internalize critical simulation know-how, reduce supplier dependency, and establish long-term ownership of mission-critical validation systems. You will work closely with cross-functional engineering teams and external partners to transfer, stabilize, and evolve simulation tooling that enables large-scale virtual validation for autonomous driving systems. You will join the Virtual Testing Domain within the Cloud System Development department. The domain is responsible for enabling scalable virtual validation environments and simulation infrastructure that support the development and validation of autonomous driving capabilities. You will work within Simulation Platform, focused on scalable simulation infrastructure, tooling, and automation frameworks. The role and the core team is primarily located in Wolfsburg. This is a pure Individual Contributor role with strong technical ownership and collaboration across multiple engineering domains. WHAT YOU WILL DO BE A DIGITAL TWIN ENGINEER * Design and implement high-fidelity 3D environments that accurately represent real-world conditions. * Develop, calibrate, and validate vehicle models, including dynamics, sensors, and control systems. * Integrate digital twins into simulation workflows for system validation and testing. * Work with sensor models (camera, lidar, radar) to create realistic perception scenarios. * Collaborate with domain experts to define environment parameters, constraints, and performance metrics.
