WHO WE ARE Notion is the collaborative AI workspace where teams and agents think together. We're building one place where your knowledge, projects, meetings, and AI tools live side by side, so work is faster, clearer, and less fragmented. Millions of individuals, small teams, and large companies run their work on Notion. Notinos (our employees) are customer zero in bringing this future of work to life. We care about craft, building things that last, and the belief that great work is still fundamentally human. Our goal isn’t to ship the next feature. Each and every team of Notinos is working to set the standard for how humans work together in the AI era. From building a business’s system of record to making and managing AI agents to automating away the busy work, we care deeply about giving our customers more time for their life’s work. ABOUT THE ROLE As the Global Head of Technical Recruiting, you will play a critical role in advancing our mission by leading the growth of our Engineering, Product, and Design organizations. You will partner closely with our CTO and Co-Founder to thoughtfully build our global technical teams. You will lead a rigorous, high-performing technical recruiting organization focused on attracting talent that excels in craft and aligns with our company values. You will also collaborate with the Head of Recruiting, Head of Recruiting Operations, and our Staff team to scale our talent through rigorous, repeatable processes. You set a high bar for talent and have a strong understanding of the global technical talent market. You are “AI-first” in how you work—excited to experiment, learn quickly, and help the team adopt AI thoughtfully to improve recruiting quality, speed, and candidate experience. This role can be based in either San Francisco or New York City. We work from our offices on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays (our Anchor Days) because we do our best thinking and building together in person. We’re looking for someone who’s excited to work alongside the team during those days. WHAT YOU'LL ACHIEVE * Define and own the global technical recruiting strategy across Engineering, Product, Design, Data, and TPM — translating business priorities into a clear talent plan that scales. * Manage and develop a high-performing team of recruiters and recruiting leaders across regions, setting the bar and coaching to it consistently. * Serve as a strategic advisor to senior technical leaders — bringing market intelligence, compensation insights, and a clear point of view on talent, not just execution against a req list. * Lead the adoption of AI tools, workflows, and automation across the recruiting function — driving meaningful change in how the team sources, assesses, and closes talent. * Design and continuously improve the processes, systems, and interview infrastructure that allow us to hire with speed without sacrificing bar — including pipeline development, interviewer calibration, and offer strategy. * Establish and own the recruiting metrics that matter — quality of hire, time to fill, source mix, funnel health — and use them to drive decisions, not just report status. * Partner with Storytelling to sharpen our employer value proposition in the technical talent community and represent Notion as a destination for world-class technical talent. SKILLS YOU'LL NEED TO BRING * 7+ years of recruiting leadership experience with a deep focus on technical hiring across engineering, product, and adjacent functions. * Proven track record of building and scaling high-performing recruiting teams in fast-moving, high-growth environments. * High agency, strategic operator who can set direction and execute — equally comfortable in a leadership conversation about talent strategy and in the weeds of a hard search. * Strong analytical instincts with a track record of using data to drive decisions, not just report them — across funnel health, quality of hire, and team performance. * Trusted advisor to senior technical leaders, with the credibility and market knowledge to influence at the Staff and executive level. * Genuine AI-first orientation — fluency with modern tools and an excitement for continuous discovery as the landscape evolves, with a track record of bringing teams along on that journey. * Deep knowledge of technical compensation trends and market dynamics across global talent pools. NICE TO HAVES * Background in technical recruiting with experience closing at the executive level. * Demonstrated track record of leveraging AI to meaningfully change how recruiting operates — not just as a tool user, but as someone who has built workflows, driven adoption, and raised the bar on what the function can do. * Experience designing and executing diversity recruiting programs with measurable outcomes. * Strong network within the technical recruiting and engineering talent community. Notion is committed to providing highly competitive cash compensation, equity, and benefits. The compensation offered for this role will be based on multiple factors such as location, the role’s scope and complexity, and the candidate’s experience and expertise, and may vary from the range provided below. For roles based in San Francisco or New York City, the estimated base salary range for this role is $250,000 - $300,000 per year. By clicking “Submit Application”, I understand and agree that Notion and its affiliates and subsidiaries will collect and process my information in accordance with Notion’s Global Recruiting Privacy Policy and NYLL 144. #LI-Onsite A NOTE ON AI You don’t need deep AI expertise for every role, but we do expect every Notino to be intellectually curious, drawn to tinkering and discovery, and excited to use AI as a real collaborator in their work. For some roles, AI fluency is a core requirement — when that’s the case, we'll say so explicitly in the qualifications. People who thrive here don’t treat AI as a novelty. They use it to think better, and make their work easier for others to build on. EQUAL OPPORTUNITY & ACCOMMODATIONS We hire talented people from a wide range of backgrounds. If you’re excited about this role but don’t meet every bullet, we still encourage you to apply. This is a high-impact leadership role for someone who has built and scaled technical recruiting teams in hyper-growth startup environments, ideally from roughly 100 to 1,000 employees. What You’ll Do * Lead and scale Snorkel AI’s technical recruiting function across Engineering, Research, Product, FDE, and Applied AI Engineering. * Build, develop, and manage a high-performing team of technical recruiters, sourcers, and recruiting leaders as the company scales. * Own the overall technical recruiting strategy, including workforce planning, pipeline development, sourcing strategy, candidate experience, closing strategy, and capacity planning. * Partner closely with Engineering, Research, Product, and other technical leaders to understand business priorities and translate them into actionable hiring plans. * Create a world-class recruiting operating model that balances speed, quality, rigor, and an exceptional candidate experience. * Develop creative sourcing strategies for highly competitive technical and AI talent markets. * Use data to identify bottlenecks, improve conversion, forecast hiring outcomes, and drive accountability across the recruiting process. * Establish and track key technical recruiting metrics, including pipeline health, pass-through rates, time to fill, offer acceptance, source effectiveness, candidate experience, and quality of hire indicators. * Coach hiring managers and interview teams on effective assessment, structured interviewing, calibration, and closing. * Build scalable processes while remaining hands-on and close to the work where needed. * Represent Snorkel AI externally as an employer of choice for world-class technical talent. What We’re Looking For * Experience building and leading technical recruiting teams in a hyper-growth startup environment, ideally at a company scaling from approximately 100 to 1,000 employees. * Deep experience recruiting for technical functions such as Engineering, Research, Product, Machine Learning, AI, Infrastructure, Data, Applied AI, or similar areas. * Strong knowledge of the Bay Area technical talent market and competitive AI/startup hiring landscape. * A track record of building recruiting teams, developing recruiters, and creating scalable recruiting practices. * Experience partnering directly with senior technical and business leaders on hiring strategy, prioritization, tradeoffs, and execution. * Strong data orientation, with the ability to use recruiting metrics to diagnose problems, drive decisions, and communicate progress. * Demonstrated creativity in sourcing, pipeline generation, talent mapping, and candidate engagement. * Strong executive presence and communication skills, with the ability to influence across technical and non-technical audiences. * Comfort operating in ambiguity and building systems, processes, and teams where they may not yet exist. * A high bar for talent, candidate experience, and operational excellence. LOCATIONS San Francisco or New York - Hybrid Compensation range is $200,000 - $300,000. All offers also include equity in the form of employee stock options.
