Our Compliance Escalation Team is looking for a Compliance Advisory Specialist with experience in Payments, Financial Services or
FinTech industries. In this role, you will help Adyen to scale and work on complex opportunities. To do that, you must have a
strong analytical mindset and communication skills to provide pragmatic and strategic advice to both internal and external
stakeholders on compliance matters.

Payment Method Compliance, APAC Lead We are looking for an experienced leader to head our Payment Method Compliance function in APAC, with global oversight of our card network and payment method relationships. This role is based in Singapore and sits at the center of risk, compliance, and commercial strategy, ensuring adherence to regulatory and scheme requirements while actively enabling scalable, growth-oriented outcomes. As the APAC Lead, you will lead a distributed regional team and act as a senior representative for Adyen across card networks, financial partners, and alternative payment methods. You will not only ensure compliance with existing frameworks, but also challenge requirements that create unnecessary friction, driving constructive change with partners to better align with Adyen’s business model and risk appetite. Who you are * 8+ years of experience in payments, fintech, or financial services, with deep expertise in card schemes, acquiring, or payment method compliance. * Proven experience leading and developing globally distributed teams in fast-paced, high-growth environments. * Strong working knowledge of card network rules (e.g., Visa, Mastercard) and experience engaging directly with schemes or alternative payment methods; prior network experience is a plus. * Demonstrated ability to balance compliance requirements with commercial objectives, including experience influencing or challenging external partners to drive better outcomes. * Experience working with regulators, financial institutions, and auditors across APAC markets. * Strong operational and strategic mindset, with the ability to translate complex requirements into scalable processes and frameworks. * Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence senior leadership internally and externally. * Comfortable operating as an escalation point for complex, high-risk issues and making sound decisions under pressure. * Willingness to travel internationally as needed. Your Mission As a Specialist, AFC Compliance Advisory & Oversight at Bitpanda, you will play a key role in strengthening and evolving our Anti-Financial Crime (AFC) Compliance framework. You will drive second-line oversight activities through quality assurance, control testing, complex financial crime investigations, and expert advisory, helping ensure our controls remain effective, scalable, and aligned with evolving regulatory expectations. Working closely with AML Officers, Risk, Product, Operations, Engineering and Data teams, you will identify control gaps, challenge existing processes, investigate complex financial crime risks, and contribute to building a robust AFC framework that supports Bitpanda's continued growth across multiple regulated markets. What you’ll do * Perform second-line quality assurance and control reviews across AFC processes, assessing whether investigations, decisions, documentation, and escalations meet internal standards and Austrian and German regulatory requirements. * Review Proof of Funds, Source of Funds, transaction monitoring, and suspicious activity cases to ensure that investigations are complete, risk-based, and supported by sufficient evidence, including the quality of any related Suspicious Activity Reports. * Perform enhanced due diligence on complex or high-risk cases involving business customers, legal entities, ownership structures, beneficial owners, and other elevated financial crime risks. * Identify control weaknesses, recurring quality issues, and gaps in operational processes, and support the implementation and follow-up of remediation measures to strengthen the AFC Compliance framework. * Collaborate with Operations, Product, Engineering, Risk, and AML Officers to improve control design, investigation standards, procedural guidance, reporting, and the overall effectiveness of AFC processes. Who you are * Educational Background: You hold a university degree in Law, Business Administration, Economics, Finance, or a related field, providing a strong foundation in Anti-Financial Crime Compliance, regulatory compliance, and risk management. * Professional Experience: You have proven experience in Anti-Financial Crime Compliance, AML investigations, Financial Crime Advisory, or Compliance Oversight within a regulated financial institution, payment institution, fintech, cryptocurrency service provider, or consultancy. You also have practical experience performing quality assurance, second-line controls, or compliance oversight, with a strong understanding of risk-based AML/CFT control frameworks. Experience conducting Proof of Funds (PoF) investigations, reviewing complex legal entities, and preparing or assessing Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) under Austrian and/or German AML/CFT requirements is highly desirable. * Technical & Analytical Competence: You possess strong analytical and investigative skills, with the ability to interpret structured data and translate insights into risk-based decisions and compliance improvements.
