The role requires strong commercial acumen, analytical capability, relationship management skills, and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, high-growth retail environment. Key Responsibilities 1. Support the Senior Vendor Manager in developing new commercial partnerships and expanding existing relationships. * Lead new vendor onboarding, set-up and commercial processing. 2. TRADING & RANGE STRATEGY * Own product selection, ranging and promotional planning for assigned vendors. * Identify and list new products in line with customer needs, market trends and competitive benchmarking. * Continuously review assortment performance and rationalise underperforming SKUs. * Manage pricing strategy in collaboration with internal stakeholders to ensure competitiveness and margin delivery. * Drive category growth through strategic product launches and seasonal activations. 3. MERCHANDISING & IN-APP PERFORMANCE * Manage in-menu merchandising to maximise visibility, conversion and sales growth. * Oversee menu management including imagery, product descriptions, and uploads to ensure best-in-class in-app execution. * Ensure high standards of in-app fidelity and customer experience. * Work closely with the Product team to resolve menu or technical issues impacting performance. Partner with DME to implement in-app campaigns, sampling initiatives and promotional activations. 4. PERFORMANCE ANALYSIS & REPORTING * Drive data-led decision making through detailed analysis of vendor and product performance. * Build and maintain dashboards to track key KPIs including sales, margin, availability, promotional ROI and range performance. * Deliver structured performance reporting internally and externally to vendors. * Translate insights into clear strategic recommendations and action plans. 5. CROSS-FUNCTIONAL COLLABORATION * Work closely with Operations, Supply Chain, Marketing, Product and Finance teams to ensure seamless execution of vendor plans. * Support resolution of operational issues impacting vendors. * Contribute to broader Hop strategic initiatives and commercial projects. REQUIREMENTS * 1–3 years’ experience in buying, vendor management, account management, commercial roles or similar within grocery, food delivery or hospitality. * Demonstrable experience managing external partners or accounts. * Strong commercial negotiation skills and financial acumen. * Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and generate strategic insights. * Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills. * Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with changing priorities. * Proficiency in Microsoft Office (particularly Excel).
About the Team Deliveroo's Risk & Insurance team protects and strengthens our business by managing corporate insurance programmes and mitigating risk across programme management, claims operations, and risk assessment. We operate at the intersection of risk, legal, finance, and operations to support business growth across every market we enter. About the Role As an Insurance Manager, you'll lead risk management initiatives ensuring our insurance programmes align with business growth. You'll manage programme renewals, assess and mitigate risk across our business verticals, and collaborate cross-functionally to drive resilience as Deliveroo continues to scale internationally. Broker background from a major firm preferred. * Experience reviewing insurance contracts, policy documents, and coverage terms - with the attention to detail to spot gaps and challenge language. * International market knowledge beyond the UK alone. * Commercially minded: able to translate complex insurance concepts for non-specialist stakeholders across legal, finance, and operations. * Strong document creation and presentation skills; able to build carrier decks and communicate programme position clearly. * Proficient with AI tools and data analysis. * Ability to work independently and take decisions without day-to-day oversight. Desirable * Experience with, or genuine understanding of, platform and gig economy business models and the associated risk profile. * CII qualification (Cert CII, Dip CII, or ACII) or equivalent professional accreditation. * People management experience, or demonstrable readiness to build and develop a small team. * Exposure to captive structures, self-insurance layers, or corporate programme design.
