Rollen fokuserar på in vitro-studier och ex vivo-analyser av musceller med inriktning mot inflammatoriska och autoimmuna sjukdomar. This is a permanent position based at our HQ, located at the campus of Stockholm University (Stockholm, Sweden). Gnothis, founded in 2015 and supported by highly innovative industrial professionals and technology developers, is on a mission to develop a new frontier for single molecule DNA sequencing; to break the mold on how sequencing is used as a clinical tool for the diagnosis of complex diseases. Our instrumentation, software and analysis team currently consists of four engineers and we are now expanding the team as we scale development of the system. We are seeking for an engineer with strong data analysis and scientific programming experience to develop our DNA sequencing data analysis pipeline. The role combines algorithm development, image analysis, and scientific data exploration, working closely with our instrumentation and biochemistry teams. The work involves analyzing experimental data from our microscopy-based sequencing platform and developing the automated analysis pipeline that converts raw microscopy data into DNA sequencing results. The position is part of a multidisciplinary team developing a prototype DNA sequencing instrument combining microscopy, microfluidics, nanofabrication and advanced data analysis. Initial Project The initial assignment will be to continuously analyze the latest experimental data from the lab in close collaboration with the biochemistry and instrument teams. Gnothis AB is seeking for a hands-on engineer who enjoys building experimental systems in a laboratory environment. The role combines microfluidics integration, instrument prototyping, and Python-based automation. This is a permanent position based at our HQ, located at the campus of Stockholm University (Stockholm, Sweden). Gnothis, founded in 2015 and supported by highly innovative industrial professionals and technology developers, is on a mission to develop a new frontier for single molecule DNA sequencing; to break the mold on how sequencing is used as a clinical tool for the diagnosis of complex diseases. Gnothis technology integrates a wide range of cutting-edge sciences ranging from nanotechnology, photophysics, optics, surface chemistry, biochemistry and computational science. Since we have taken significant steps forward and now need to solve the remaining crucial challenges before commercialization; for the right person this is a unique opportunity to become a valuable member, to use your “think-outside-the box” mentality with aim to develop a new world-class technology platform! Our instrumentation, software and analysis team currently consists of four engineers and we are now expanding the team as we scale development of the system. Initial Project The first major task will be to design and integrate a microfluidics subsystem into our existing microscope prototype – to plan, test, order and add already commercially available components to a final prototype. This includes selecting and integrating a commercial microfluidics system (e.g. Elveflow or similar), designing a custom sample chip holder and fluid interface, integrating control into an existing Python control software, and establishing practical operation and cleaning procedures. The work is supported by a biochemistry team, but we are seeking for the right candidate who can make confident engineering decisions based on previous hands-on experiences connected to eg. microfluidics and laboratory automation. Responsibilities Mechanically integrate new devices into a prototype life-science instrument. The initial focus is on liquid sample handling, such as flow and temperature control. Develop Python control and automation software, starting from existing vendor SDKs. Design simple mechanical parts (CAD / 3D printing) Hands-on prototyping and debugging in the lab Method development for instrument performance evaluation and self-calibration. This is a senior, hands-on role for a bioanalytical subject-matter expert who can own biomarker assay work end to end, from development and validation through GLP/GCLP sample analysis - in support of sponsors’ preclinical and clinical programs, with a particular focus on gene and cell therapy. Who Are We? In this role, you will split your time between hands-on NGS work and project management - as comfortable leading a project as running an experiment. TATAA Biocenter is a specialized molecular-analysis CRO supporting pharmaceutical and biotech sponsors worldwide. Our laboratory is GCLP-compliant and accredited under GLP and ISO 17025:2017, with deep expertise in qPCR, dPCR, RNA-seq/NGS, and Olink. What You Will Do? Lead and develop the molecular and genomics biomarker team, setting its scientific and operational direction. Own biomarker assay development, qualification, and validation across qPCR, dPCR, RNA-seq, and Olink. Act as bioanalytical PI / scientific lead on sponsor studies, including gene- and cell-therapy, biodistribution, and shedding programs. Contribute to sponsor proposals and experimental design, helping win and scope new work as a scientific lead. Stand behind assay development, validation, and sample analysis during regulatory audits and inspections. Ensure GLP/GCLP-compliant documentation, data integrity, and continuous audit readiness. Serve as the bioanalytical point of contact and subject-matter expert for sponsors and colleagues. Who Are We Looking For? Essential You have a proven track record in molecular and genomics biomarker assay development and validation. You have NGS experience relevant for gene and cell therapy - typically one or more of: RNA-seq for transgene expression and transcriptomic biomarkers., Integration-site analysis for lentiviral / retroviral vectors., AAV vector genome and capsid sequence confirmation, and impurity profiling., Targeted panels or WGS for off-target editing analysis in gene-editing programs. You hold a PhD in a relevant field, with significant industry experience (e.g., 2+ years in a CRO or pharma bioanalytical setting). You have hands-on qPCR and dPCR expertise across preclinical and clinical settings. You have expertise in biodistribution and shedding studies for advanced drug modalities. You can stand behind your assay work in front of auditors and inspectors (GLP/GCLP; OECD GxP a strong plus). You are organized and meticulous, essential in a regulated laboratory - and process excellent English communication skills (both written and oral). The main aim of this PhD student position is to strengthen the newly started research on Triboelectrictive nanogenerator (TENG)-based smart lubrication in Machine Elements. Besides courses, the student will mainly carry out experimental work. The department has about 300 employees and conducts research in 17 research subjects and seven centers of excellence. Subject description Machine Elements comprises the analysis and optimisation of machine components and component systems in order to enhance performance, longevity, energy-efficiency, reliability and sustainability. Particular emphasis is placed on issues in the field of tribology. Project description The project is about developing and applying TENG-based self-powered sensors or TENG-based energy harvesting methods for tribological applications. A sensor that produces its own power has a large role to play in the advancement of wearables, the Internet of Things, Industry 4.0, etc. The focus of this project is to apply this technology to machine components to give information about the operation. This could be general machine health as well as specific fault and failure signals. The aim of the project is to develop knowledge and understanding of the relationship between tribological signals (especially lubrication signals) and the working status. Duties The PhD student is expected to perform both experimental and theoretical work within research studies as well as communicate the results at national and international conferences and in scientific journals. Most of the PhD student's working time will be devoted to its own research studies. In addition, the PhD student can have the opportunity to try the teacher role. As a researcher, the PhD student works as a neutral party in many contexts, which provides a great opportunity to be involved in challenging development projects. Qualifications Applicants must have a master's degree in science or engineering (Materials science, Chemistry, Physics, Mechanical engineering, etc.), or equivalent. Good skills in oral and written communication in English are also a requirement.
