What you'll do: As a member of the CMS Safety Office, you will participate in all safety-related activities at the CMS experimental sites during the Long Shutdown 3, when both the detector and the infrastructure will undergo major upgrades. In particular, you will take a leading role in the technical review of all CMS fire extinguishing systems and safety monitoring systems to assess their design, coverage and suitability for the CMS upgrade. You will contribute to the review, testing, and commissioning of the CMS Alarm Action Matrix in collaboration with all the relevant stakeholders, as well as organise regular reviews of the systems and activities and guide risk assessments for the collaboration's teams. We’re looking for a proactive and detail-oriented HGV Technician to join our Aftermarket team! This hands-on role involves maintaining and repairing refuse collection vehicles to the highest standards, ensuring safety, compliance, and customer satisfaction every step of the way. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: * Diagnose faults and carry out repairs on chassis and mounted equipment * Service vehicles to VOSA standards and prepare them for MOT inspections * Complete body and chassis repairs and ensure compliance with Department of Transport specifications * Maintain accurate records and enter job details into company systems * Liaise professionally with customers and work independently at customer sites * Ensure all work is completed efficiently and to company standards * Follow health and safety procedures and conduct risk assessments where required * Undertake training to enhance technical skills and knowledge IDEAL CANDIDATE: * NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Heavy Vehicle Service and Maintenance * Proven experience in commercial vehicle repair and servicing * Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills * Understanding of electronics, hydraulics, and wiring diagrams * Excellent communication and customer service skills * Ability to work independently and manage time effectively * Willingness to travel and work flexible hours, including overtime * Experience with electric vehicles, IRTEC qualification, or HGV Class 2 licence is a bonus If you’re ready to take your technical skills to the next level, we’d love to hear from you!   We welcome applicants from all backgrounds.
