About the Role Sapien is moving fast. The Chief of Staff exists to make sure the company moves with intention, not just speed. You'll sit directly with the founders, own the operational layer that keeps everything running, and drive the cross-functional work that doesn't fit neatly into any one function. This is a high-trust, high-leverage role. You'll have visibility into everything and ownership of things that matter: strategic planning, investor relations, hiring, internal communications, and the GTM systems that drive revenue. If you've thrived in high-output environments and gravitate toward the work that others can't quite categorize -- this is for you. What You'll Own Founder & Leadership Leverage * Extend the capacity of the CEO and leadership team -- own their context, manage their priorities, and make sure the right decisions happen at the right time * Lead preparation for board meetings, investor updates, and key internal reviews * Manage high-priority cross-functional projects from framing to execution GTM & Revenue Operations * Own the operational layer behind sales and CS: pipeline hygiene, CRM discipline, outbound coordination, and performance reporting * Build and maintain dashboards that give leadership real-time visibility into revenue, deployment health, and operational KPIs * Support customer-facing work where needed -- able to hold a conversation with a CFO and represent Sapien credibly Strategy & Company Operations * Turn ambiguous priorities into structured plans with clear owners and timelines * Identify operational gaps across the business, design the fix, and leave behind a repeatable process * Support recruiting and team scaling as headcount grows What We're Looking For * 4-7 years in investment banking, PE, management consulting, or a senior operator role at a high-growth startup * Finance fluency -- comfortable with P&Ls, operating metrics, and corporate finance concepts * Proven builder of systems and processes, not just deliverables * Sharp written communicator -- crisp across exec briefs, investor updates, and internal memos * AI-native -- you use AI tools daily, pick up new systems fast, and actively look for leverage * High agency, low ego -- you figure out what needs to happen and go do it How You Work * Ambiguity-shaping. You turn nebulous problems into a first pass and drive to resolution * Extreme ownership. If you say it, it gets done * Speed & hustle. Urgency without sacrificing quality * AI-native. Energized by applying AI to transform how businesses run
WHO WE ARE Sapien is rethinking how finance teams operate in the age of AI. We’re building toward an autonomous CFO—systems that run company financials end-to-end. Our platform analyzes complex financial data in real time to increase decision cadence, prevent costly mistakes, and surface value. Sapien has caught multi-million-dollar errors, saved thousands of jobs, and returned significant dollars to customers’ bottom lines. We partner with traditional businesses—manufacturing, healthcare, restaurants, and large enterprises—to deeply understand and automate their financial workflows. We’re HQ’d by Madison Square Park in NYC and backed by General Catalyst, Neo, and top operators from Google, OpenAI, Microsoft, Ramp, and Stripe (over $9M raised). THE ROLE You'll be the engineering owner of customer success. This means building the internal tools that help our sales team close deals, setting up customer modules and data pipelines, and being directly responsible for whether prospects convert and customers expand. You're the technical DRI for making customers successful with Sapien. This is a customer-facing engineering role where you'll split time between building internal GTM tooling and hands-on customer work. You'll have full-stack skills but use them in service of customer outcomes, not just product features. WHAT YOU'LL DO * Build internal tools that accelerate our sales motion. Create tools for generating customer demos, automated systems for onboarding new customers, and interfaces that help the sales team understand technical blockers. * Own customer module setup from technical sale through production. Upload and validate customer data, configure workflows for their specific business processes, build custom integrations when needed, and ensure the platform works correctly for their use case. * Build and maintain integrations with customer systems. Connect to ERPs, CRMs, accounting software, and proprietary internal tools. Handle authentication, data syncing, schema mapping, and edge cases that come from integrating with messy real-world systems. * Be the DRI for customer performance. Monitor accuracy and reliability for each customer, debug issues when they arise, optimize slow queries or workflows, and ensure customers are seeing measurable value from the platform. * Design product features that turn pilots into successful deployments. You'll see firsthand what's blocking customer success and work with the product team to prioritize features that unlock expansion, prevent churn, and make the platform work for more use cases. * Identify patterns across customers that should become platform capabilities. Turn one-off integrations into reusable connectors, custom scripts into product features, and manual setup work into automated onboarding flows. Make customer operations scalable. * Build tooling that reduces friction in the customer journey. Create systems for data validation, integration testing, module templates, knowledge management, and monitoring so we can serve more customers. WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR * Full-stack engineering experience with React, TypeScript, Python, and SQL. You can build tools quickly and translate customer problems into production solutions. * Customer-facing experience or strong interest in working directly with customers. You're comfortable on calls, can explain technical concepts to non-technical people, and enjoy problem-solving with users. * Bias toward pragmatic solutions over perfect architecture. Shipping something that works beats over-engineering. * Ownership mentality for customer outcomes. You care whether customers succeed, not just whether your code works. * Ability to operate with ambiguity. Customer problems are messy and unique. You can assess what's needed, figure out the right solution, and execute without detailed specs. HOW YOU WORK (VALUES WE CARE ABOUT) * Adaptability: You switch contexts constantly. One hour you're on a customer call, the next you're building foundational tooling for customer onboarding. You handle the variety well and bring the same technical rigor whether you're building customer-facing tools or solving one-off data issues. * Ownership: You're responsible for customer success. If a customer isn't getting value, you don't wait for someone else to fix it. You dig in, figure out what's wrong, and make it right. * Opinionated: You develop strong views on what customers actually need versus what they ask for. You push back on requests that won't drive value and propose better solutions based on what you've seen work. * Mission-driven: You're energized by making customers successful with AI. You connect your technical work directly to whether customers renew and expand, and you care about their business outcomes. * Collaborative excellence: You're the bridge between customers and the product team. You share insights about customer needs, help prioritize features that matter, and make the whole company better at serving customers.

10% of Europe’s CO₂ emissions are caused by residential heating, and energy bills are out of control. Aira is here to change that. With our intelligent Aira Heat Pump at the heart, we’re making the switch to clean energy-tech easier and more affordable. Helping Europe turn off gas and slash energy costs one home at a time. Founded in 2022, and with 1200+ employees and counting, Aira is driving the clean energy revolution by providing homes with modern clean energy-tech solutions such as solar power, battery storage solutions, and heat pumps. With a state-of-the-art production facility in Poland, and HQ in Stockholm, Sweden, and hubs across the UK, Germany, and Italy, Aira is well on track to install clean energy-tech into 5 million homes by 2034. About the role We are looking for an Engineering Manager to lead engineering teams in our Acquisition organization. Acquisition focuses on the entire customer journey from first contact through to completed installation - the teams that turn interest into happy customers with heat pumps in their homes. This role sits at the intersection of people leadership, technical guidance, and organizational alignment. You will ensure engineers have context, support, and a mandate to do their best work. You'll work closely with product managers, designers, and engineering peers to deliver solutions that matter. We are looking for a leader who speaks up, provides a critical perspective on decisions, and holds their ground. Not someone who waits for direction or avoids conflict. Someone who sees what needs doing and acts, taking initiative before problems escalate. You care about people - and that includes having difficult conversations and holding everyone, including yourself, accountable. You will be... Leading and developing engineers through regular one-on-ones focused on growth, blockers, and well-being. Supporting career development and addressing performance issues constructively. Creating psychological safety where engineers can raise concerns and influence decisions. Building a culture actively, not passively - engineers know their manager has their back personally, not just professionally. Working with PMs to ensure every project has clear problem statements and success criteria, so engineers know why they're building what they're building. Challenging work without clear value and helping teams push back when necessary. Navigating relationships with product leadership, PMs, engineering peers, and commercial leadership. Join our global force of 400+ innovators, blending the latest in tech with the greatest in soundtracking — from our Stockholm HQ to offices in London, New York, Los Angeles, Berlin, Paris, Oslo, and Seoul. We're an industry leader with a startup mentality. We take what we do seriously, but we don't take ourselves too seriously. Come create with us, and let the world feel your work. As a Senior Data Analyst, you'll join an embedded, AI-native analytics team that sits inside the commercial and product domains driving our growth. You'll work closely with DRM and Music leadership — and the product team — as we grow our Music & DRM business. On the DRM side, you'll validate the metrics that matter, build business cases that motivate product investment, and back our position in platform negotiations. On the Music side, you'll help leadership make better decisions faster: shaping how we think about capex and acquisition tradeoffs, making our biggest financial decisions more data-driven, and building a clear picture of how music moves across our platform and out into the world. You'll have a dedicated mandate spanning both DRM and Music while drawing on the shared infrastructure, engineering support, and peers of our central Data & Analytics team. WHAT YOU'LL DO * Be a trusted thought partner to Music and DRM leadership. Bring structured thinking to high-stakes questions, sanity-check what we measure, and proactively raise the questions stakeholders haven't thought to ask. * Build the business cases that move decisions forward. Turn platform data into the commercial case for what we should build next, and put hard numbers behind contract terms, rate changes, and revenue-share positions where the stakes are real money. * See around corners. Bring data-driven insights around our music investments, and build a deep understanding of how different customer segments use our music — so we can anticipate where demand is heading before it shows up in the numbers. * Connect what happens on our platform with how music performs in the world. Run deep-dives that combine internal and external data to explain why a metric moved, where value is being left on the table, and where the growth opportunities are. * Make our data trustworthy for agentic analytics — enrich context and metadata, and use AI coding tools to ship instrumentation and data-quality fixes directly so both people and AI tools can rely on it. * Uphold analytical rigour as self-serve expands. Push back on false precision in revenue and accrual estimates, set the bar for what good analysis looks like, and resist unnecessary complexity where a simpler approach serves the decision better. WHAT YOU'LL BRING * Senior-level influence. You've driven real business impact by shaping decisions at the leadership level and moving revenue outcomes. * High agency. Habit of driving decisions through tailored communication and data storytelling. * Sharp analytical instincts. You scope vague questions with vetted frameworks, state hypotheses up front, and reason to a defensible answer even with imperfect data. * Sound judgement about data. A solid grasp of statistics and the discernment to know when past data predicts the future and when to override it for where the business is heading. * Technical versatility. Proficiency across SQL and Python (notebooks in Hex), dbt (on BigQuery), plus experience with AI coding tools and techniques including context engineering and evals. * Platform curiosity. You don't need prior rights-management experience, but you're genuinely curious to learn how the music platforms actually work, and how that connects to our business. MUSIC TO OUR EARS * Experience combining data across platforms — e.g. joining first-party product data with external platform data — to explain shifts in user behaviour. * Data modelling know-how and experience with semantic layers. * A track record of validating and refining metrics in a data-mature environment, and of building business cases that turned into real product investment. WHAT WE'LL OFFER * A fast-paced environment with real room for personal growth and tangible impact on the business. * The chance to help write the new playbook for running Analytics in the AI era, combining timeless principles with fresh learnings from emerging tooling. * A diverse, collaborative team of Analysts and Engineers building together.
