Current transmitters are limited in terms of their bandwidth, energy efficiency and linearity. In this research project you will work on the intersectional area of antenna design, circuit design and signal processing to investigate novel nonlinear multi-antenna transmitters that overcome these limitations. By utilizing antenna mutual coupling for effective amplitude modulation – a shift from the traditional view that considers it detrimental – you will overcome existing limitations in frequency, efficiency, power, and linearity, thereby fostering sustainable digital transformation. Your responsibility will be to design microwave components such as power amplifiers and antenna arrays but also derive the theory how to feed the individual amplifiers for the most energy efficient transmission in a certain direction. The goal is to develop a new scalable transmitter architecture that embraces mutual antenna coupling as a means of load modulation - allowing neighboring elements to efficiently create modulated signals similar to classical Chireix outphasing, but using the antenna aperture as combining element. The position is hosted at the department of Microtechnology and Nanoscience where you will haveaccess to state of the art microwave measurement facilities at the Kollberg lab. The project is supported by collaboration agreements with semiconductor manufacturers that allow fabrication in CMOS, GaAs and GaN processes. "Detection and Quantification of Multiple Faults in Residential Heat Pumps” Would you like to work with one of Sweden's strongest brands and be involved in developing the next generation of NIBE products and smart heat pumps? NIBE AB is now recruiting a talented student with a master degree in science to work as an industrial PhD student on smart heat pumps.   We are now looking for an industrial PhD student, interested in technology and wants to work on developing sustainable climate solutions. The position will be shared in between Sweden and France. At NIBE's head office, you will work in an international environment with a world-class product portfolio that requires both intensive and high-quality product development.   Description of the subject and the position To make these smart heat pumps a reality a heat pump manufacturer, an electricity utility company and a technical university specialized in energy efficiency systems have joined forces to propose an industrial postgraduate student position. Based on previous works, the PhD student will explore the real time assessment of residential heat pump operation, facing one major or several simultaneous faults. The high-level research centers of Mines Paris attract highly qualified PhD and professors and will serve as the academic supervisor and ensure support at a high scientific level.   General features about the overall organization The PhD student will be employed by NIBE AB and administratively attached to Mines Paris which will serve as the entity behind the academic examination. Most of the experimental and practical work will be done on the test benches at EDF R&D facilities near Paris. The PhD director will be a professor from Mines Paris and the PhD student will beneficiate from the support of one supervisor from EDF R&D and one supervisor from NIBE AB.   The PhD study is planned for three years. Part of the work, around 50%, will be done at NIBE AB premises in Markaryd. The remaining time will be spent in France, at EDF R&D premises at Les Renardières and at Mines Paris. Right now, we are looking for a Process Engineer – Hydrogen Production & Direct Reduction for our Green Iron Operations. The team is responsible for optimizing process performance, supporting safe and stable operations, and driving continuous improvements across our hydrogen production and direct reduction plants. Specific to this role, the day-to-day tasks will include the following, but as we are a growing company with very few silos between teams, other tasks might be included as well. Provide day-to-day process engineering support to ensure safe, stable, and efficient plant operations. Monitor plant performance, troubleshoot process upsets, and lead root cause analyses to improve reliability and operational excellence. Optimize process performance through process modelling, heat and mass balances, debottlenecking, and energy efficiency initiatives. Support hydrogen production and direct reduction operations during commissioning, start-ups, shutdowns, and operational changes. Review and develop engineering documentation, including PFDs, P&IDs, process calculations, SOPs, and process control strategies. Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, Automation, and OEM partners to improve process performance and implement engineering solutions. Drive continuous improvement projects, monitor production KPIs, and prepare technical reports to support data-driven decision-making. Project description The project is about developing and applying TENG-based self-powered sensors or TENG-based energy harvesting methods for tribological applications. A sensor that produces its own power has a large role to play in the advancement of wearables, the Internet of Things, Industry 4.0, etc. The focus of this project is to apply this technology to machine components to give information about the operation. This could be general machine health as well as specific fault and failure signals. The aim of the project is to develop knowledge and understanding of the relationship between tribological signals (especially lubrication signals) and the working status. Duties The PhD student is expected to perform both experimental and theoretical work within research studies as well as communicate the results at national and international conferences and in scientific journals. Most of the PhD student's working time will be devoted to its own research studies. In addition, the PhD student can have the opportunity to try the teacher role. Key Responsibilities: Reporting to the Project Director /Construction Director, your key responsibilities include: Strategic: Agreeing project objectives Providing advice on the management of projects Attending pre-tender and tender handover meetings Planning projects to ensure they are programmed for successful delivery and the aims of the project are met Delivery of pre-site meetings to the site team Making sure the project is running in accordance to the programme and on budget Implementing risk management processes, review risk register and check risk controls Delivering projects with the highest quality and ensuring that QA documents are produced and maintained Representing the interests of the client and Collen Producing and analysing progress reports, updated costs and forecasts Budgeting resources and implementing forward planning Reviewing CVRs on a monthly basis with the project team and implementing necessary actions Managing and monitoring sub-contractors to ensure Company processes and procedures are adhered to Overseeing the accounting, costing and billing to ensure the project is on budget Leadership: Ensure site team compliance with Company policies and procedures Set the highest possible standards of leadership in the promotion of health and safety procedures and best practice, ensuring compliance with Company procedures and legal obligations for safe construction at all times Allocate health and safety responsibilities in accordance with the Company’s Safety Statement, check understanding of roles and provide training as necessary Build and maintain relationships with both the client and external customers Lead meetings with the customer and report on progress to date Co-ordinate the various professional people working on a project Ensure an efficient construction site Ensure works are carried out in a manner which minimises community impact Skills & Competencies: This role requires strong time management and communication skills, good digital literacy, and the ability to prepare reports and complete required project documentation.
