As a BMS Engineer based in Gävle, Sweden, you will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, maintenance, and support of Building Management Systems (BMS) within mission-critical data center environments.
Working in high-availability data centers, you will ensure that critical building systems operate safely, efficiently, and reliably while supporting both planned maintenance and reactive service activities.
Key Responsibilities
Install, commission, operate, maintain, and troubleshoot Building Management Systems (BMS) and field control systems within data centers.
Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive maintenance, and support for critical infrastructure.
Support automation and controls projects, including commissioning of new installations and system upgrades.
Modify, program, and interrogate BMS software, control strategies, graphics, and system databases.
Monitor and optimize HVAC, cooling, ventilation, and other critical building services to maximize energy efficiency and system performance.
Diagnose faults quickly and implement effective corrective actions to minimize downtime in mission-critical environments.
Ensure all maintenance and project work is completed in accordance with health, safety, and industry standards.
Produce detailed service reports, commissioning documentation, and technical records.
Develop and maintain excellent relationships with clients, contractors, and on-site operations teams.
Required Skills & Experience
Previous experience working with Building Management Systems (BMS) in commercial or mission-critical environments.
Experience operating, maintaining, commissioning, and troubleshooting HVAC and mechanical building services.
Experience with Niagara BMS systems.
Experience with BMS software programming, graphics, alarms, trends, and control strategies.
Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving skills in live operational environments.
Good understanding of Health & Safety regulations, risk assessments, and safe working practices.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to prepare technical documentation and build positive customer relationships.
Experience working in data centers or other critical infrastructure environments is highly desirable.

About the Role Yondr is looking for a talented and experienced Technical subject Matter Expert (SME) – A Mechanical systems experienced design/engineer that will join the DCX (Data Centre Execution) team to provide engineering design expert input to ensure our portfolio of projects is compliant against our design parameters and that of our tenants and compliant also with local code. The ideal candidate will be engaged in the design of Yondr’s current and future generation of data center products targeted at both the Hyperscale/Cloud and AI compute markets by pushing innovation and influencing, advising and ensuring compliance in technical standards and specifications. To ensure that Yondr’s design requirements and that of our tenants are incorporated into our current and future developments, as SME, you will work closely with the Global VP Design and Regional Design Directors, and where required, manage teams of consulting partners to provide industry standard compliant solutions that are both innovative and cutting edge. You will also work closely with project managers, design engineers, consultants, contractors and commercial teams to ensure the successful delivery and ongoing operation of our in-flight projects- globally (AMERS/EMEA). As a global role- the role will require work across both regions across our project portfolio – so travel and working on/from projects in region will be anticipated. The role will also see the successful candidate engaged and working in partnership with various business functions and initiatives within DCX design, including input to the development and land acquisition where requried, bid phase support where required, and assisting our construction delivery team through to operations to drive technical excellence and compliant to client SoQ and Yondr reference design parameters during the full life cycle of our data centers. Main Responsibilities * Working in partnership with the Global and regional design directorship, reporting directly under the Global VP Design, you will be collaborating with and managing our consulting partners to produce and develop BoD strategies, reference designs and global/regional standards. * Collaborate as part of the bench of technical expert SME within Yondr to ensure that appropriate standards in design and in management and behaviours are consistently delivered. You will be a team-player, sensitive to your peers and to ensuring that through collaboration best solutions can be found that consider the issues through all project phases, including in operation. * Oversee live projects through to detailed design and sign-off the mechanical systems in accordance with our global standards. * Undertake reviews at key project stage gateways to ensure the mechanical systems are of the highest standards, fit for purpose, buildable and cost effective. * Support various business initiatives including the continuous improvement of our global design standards and innovations for future technologies. * Support the development team & utilities/power teams in Yondr in utilities planning & procurement. * Engage with the supply chain to challenge the ‘norm’ and develop innovative solutions to provide the world class product considering: technical performance, resilience, energy efficiency, buildability, scalability, maintainability. * Continuously increase your knowledge of data center services, systems and components through involvement with manufacturing, construction, installation, commissioning and operations to drive greater design standards. * Support the business in identifying opportunities to improve site infrastructure and reduce our power usage effectiveness. * Lead technical aspect of providing specific related technical input to our customers working in collaboration with the project design manager/regional design management team. Qualifications and experience * Expert knowledge and extensive experience with mechanical systems including air, refrigerant and water based cooling and heating systems, ventilation systems, hot and cold water services systems, process water systems and treatment, surface and foul water drainage systems. * Proven DC/Mission critical focused experience * Knowledge of BMS, fire suppression systems and acoustics preferred, but not necessary. * Basic knowledge of electrical, ICT, security, architecture, civil and structural disciplines to enable effective cross discipline coordination and agreement of key interfaces. * Understanding in depth of the commissioning processes relating to Data Centre delivery, and all stages of the quality/integration processes from FWT to full tagging to IST / RFS. * Good commercial acumen with understanding of commercial impacts to technical decision making from capex to opex * Be professional and personable with the ability to lead meetings, workshops and presentations both upstream to end customers and downstream to supply chain partners. You will be working in a team and you need to be a communicator and collaborator who will be able to form trusting relationships and interact at all times professionally with your colleagues, peers and our end clients. * Degree qualified in Engineering or equivalent is required. The Dry Mechanical Commissioning Engineer is responsible for planning and executing commissioning activities for process mechanical, exhaust, and dry utility systems in a high-tech semiconductor facility and high technology construction projects. This role works closely with construction, controls, quality, safety, and operations teams to ensure systems are installed, tested, and turned over in accordance with design intent, client standards, and regulatory requirements. RESPONSIBILITIES: * Review design documents, specifications, P&IDs, isometrics, equipment submittals, and control narratives to build the commissioning database. * Lead and manage commissioning activities for process mechanical, exhaust, and dry utility systems from pre functional checks through system startup, functional testing, and turnover. * Develop and review commissioning plans, procedures, and checklists for: * Process Piping Systems (Oil Free Air, Process Cooling Water) * HVAC Systems (Exhaust, Supply Air, Hydronic Piping) * Industrial Wastewater / Ultra Pure Water Systems * Automated valves, dampers, and control devices * Perform field walkdowns and verification inspections to confirm installation completeness, cleanliness, labeling, and safety compliance. * Coordinate and support equipment startup with trades and vendors. * Track, document, and manage commissioning issues, deficiencies, and punch list items to ensure timely resolution. * Maintain accurate commissioning documentation, including test results, redlines, as built verification, and turnover packages. * Participate in startup readiness reviews, cutover planning, and transition to operations. * Enforce EHS, LOTO, and safe commissioning practices, especially when working with hazardous exhaust systems. * Provide commissioning status updates and technical input during client and project meetings. * Any other duties or responsibilities that may be assigned to you in your role. SKILLS REQUIRED: * 3+ years of experience in mechanical commissioning, startup, or systems testing within semiconductor fabs, data centers, or industrial facilities. * Strong knowledge of process mechanical systems, HVAC, and system integration in semiconductor or mission critical environments. * Understanding of airflow dynamics, pressure control, redundancy, and exhaust safety principles. * Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, isometrics, control diagrams, BIM models, and specifications. * Familiarity with controls integration, sensors, actuators, and FMCS/BMS interfaces. * Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills. * Comfortable working in active construction and commissioning environments. * Experience working in cleanroom or high purity environments.
