At Snowflake, we are powering the era of the agentic enterprise. To usher in this new era, we seek AI-native thinkers across every function who are energized by the opportunity to reinvent how they work. You don’t just use tools; you possess an innate curiosity, treating AI as a high-trust collaborator that is core to how you solve problems and accelerate your impact. We look for low-ego individuals who thrive in dynamic and fast-moving environments and move with an experimental mindset — who rapidly test emerging capabilities to discover simpler, more powerful ways to deliver results. At Snowflake, your role isn't just to execute a function, but to help redefine the future of how work gets done. We are hiring a Principal Technical Architect for our Services Delivery team. This is one of the most senior technical roles in the SD organization. You will define how we deliver at scale, set the architectural standards that our entire practice builds on, and engage with our most strategic customers at the highest levels of technical complexity. Your work will shape both what we build for customers and how we grow as a SD organization. AS A PRINCIPAL TECHNICAL ARCHITECT AT SNOWFLAKE, YOU WILL: Practice Leadership and Standards * Define the architectural frameworks, delivery standards, and technical methodologies that guide how the Services Delivery organization operates across engagements * Own the development of the SD technical practice in one or more domains (AI/ML, data platform, cloud migration, MLOps), establishing reference architectures, repeatable delivery patterns, and capability accelerators * Identify and close capability gaps across the SD team, driving investments in tooling, enablement, and institutional knowledge * Represent the SD technical perspective in cross-functional planning with product, engineering, and field leadership Strategic Customer Engagement * Engage directly with the most complex and strategically significant customer opportunities, providing principal-level technical guidance that other architects build around * Advise C-level and senior executive stakeholders on platform architecture, AI strategy, and long-term technology direction in the context of Snowflake's capabilities * Own technical outcomes for enterprise programs where delivery risk is highest, personally driving resolution of the most difficult architectural and integration challenges * Translate emerging Snowflake capabilities into actionable strategic advantage for key customers before those capabilities are broadly adopted External Influence and Thought Leadership * Represent Snowflake's technical depth externally through conference presentations, published content, customer advisory boards, and industry forums * Build Snowflake's reputation as a trusted technical partner in the AI and data platform ecosystem * Channel field intelligence from strategic engagements back into Snowflake's product organization to influence roadmap decisions Organizational Development * Mentor senior architects and technical leads across the SD practice, raising the technical ceiling of the broader team * Partner with SD leadership on hiring, technical calibration, and the development of architectural career paths * Drive adoption of AI-native delivery practices within the SD organization, setting the standard for how the team uses AI to accelerate and improve customer outcomes OUR IDEAL PRINCIPAL TECHNICAL ARCHITECT WILL HAVE: * BA/BS in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience * 10+ years of experience in senior technical architecture, data platform consulting, or a principal-level customer-facing technical role * Recognized expertise across the full modern data and AI stack, with deep hands-on Snowflake experience including advanced platform governance, performance architecture, and multi-cloud deployment patterns * A track record of defining architectural standards or technical methodologies adopted across a large organization or practice * Deep expertise in the AI/ML lifecycle at enterprise scale, including production MLOps, model governance, responsible AI frameworks, and generative AI architectures * Demonstrated ability to influence product strategy, organizational direction, or market positioning through technical leadership * Proficiency in SQL and Python at a level sufficient to architect, review, and advise on production systems * Experience engaging C-level and senior executive audiences on complex technology decisions, with a track record of translating technical depth into executive clarity * Ability to hold and defend strong technical positions in ambiguous, high-stakes environments BONUS POINTS FOR THE FOLLOWING: * Published technical work, conference presentations, or recognized industry contributions in data, AI/ML, or cloud architecture * Experience building or scaling a technical practice, Center of Excellence, or architecture function across a large organization * Background in a principal or distinguished engineer role at a product-led technology company * Advanced cloud certifications (AWS Solutions Architect Professional, Google Professional Cloud Architect, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or equivalent) * Snowflake SnowPro Advanced Certification(s) * Deep industry vertical expertise across multiple verticals (e.g., Financial Services, Healthcare, Media and Entertainment, Public Sector) * Experience contributing to open source projects or co-authoring technical standards WHY JOIN OUR SERVICES DELIVERY TEAM AT SNOWFLAKE? This is a role for someone who wants to build something, not just deliver into it. As a Principal Technical Architect, you will have a direct line from your work to how our entire SD practice thinks, delivers, and grows. You will define the standards others follow, engage with the hardest problems our most sophisticated customers bring to us, and have a genuine voice in how Snowflake's product evolves based on what you see in the field. The role combines the intellectual depth of principal-level architecture work with the organizational impact of building a practice at scale. If you are at a point in your career where individual delivery is no longer enough and you want your influence to operate at the level of the entire PS organization and beyond, this is the role for you. How do you want to make your impact? Snowflake is growing fast, and we’re scaling our team to help enable and accelerate our growth. PRINCIPAL AI ENGINEERING ARCHITECT We're looking for a Principal AI Engineering Architect to lead the design and delivery of complex, multi-domain systems spanning cloud, data, and AI — with deep, hands-on mastery of multi-agent agentic AI solutions. This role is ideal for a deeply experienced engineer who owns the hardest architectural challenges, sets technical direction, and serves as the senior technical voice on the engagements they support, while also being able to roll up their sleeves and lead model development, agentic system design, and production delivery end-to-end. In this role, you will operate as the senior technical authority on a cross-functional team, defining architecture across cloud infrastructure, data platforms, and AI/ML workloads, with a strong bias toward AWS-native services and AWS GenAI offerings. You'll partner closely with leadership and clients on technical strategy, lead the design and delivery of complex, production-grade multi-agent systems, mentor experienced engineers, and own high-stakes decisions that shape the long-term success of the systems you build. Why This Role Matters At Robots & Pencils, we design AI systems for a human world. Our name says it all. Robots and pencils means engineering paired with creativity, because every agent we ship has to work for real people in real workflows. That balance is baked into how we operate. Every role here contributes directly to that mission. Here, you shape how AI systems integrate into enterprise operations, how teams move at real velocity, and how products create measurable impact for clients and the people they serve. We ship production-ready AI in 30 to 45 days. That pace demands people who take ownership, lead with craft, and care deeply about what they put their name on. WHAT YOU'LL DO Craft & Delivery Define technical strategy and lead architectural design across cloud, data, and AI/ML systems for end-to-end engagements, owning architecture decisions and driving solutions from research through production at scale Architect and ship production-grade multi-agent agentic AI systems, including agent orchestration, tool use, memory, and inter-agent communication patterns Design and build with Amazon Bedrock AgentCore and complementary AWS GenAI services to deploy, scale, and operate agentic workloads securely in production Architect scalable cloud-native solutions with a strong bias toward AWS, including multi-cloud and hybrid strategies where needed (AWS primary, with Azure, GCP, Kubernetes as secondary) Design data architectures including warehouses, data lakes, and pipelines for batch and streaming workloads (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery, Spark, Kafka) Design AI/ML systems including model serving, MLOps pipelines, feature stores, and LLM-based applications (e.g., SageMaker, Bedrock, AgentCore, Vertex AI, MLflow, Hugging Face) Build and evolve scalable ML platforms, pipelines, and infrastructure that support reliable, repeatable model development and deployment across teams Define infrastructure as code, CI/CD, and DevOps standards across engagements (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation, GitHub Actions) Drive performance, scalability, cost, and reliability optimization across deployed systems Ensure architecture meets security, governance, and compliance requirements (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, SOC2) Lead cloud migrations and platform modernization initiatives Set the standard for AI-forward engineering, using tools like Claude and Cursor with sophistication and helping the team adopt them effectively Collaboration & Communication Partner with senior leadership and clients as the principal technical voice on strategy and direction Translate complex AI tradeoffs, risks, and opportunities into clear narratives that drive decision-making across technical and non-technical stakeholders Lead design reviews and technical discussions, raising the bar for engineering rigor and constructive challenge across the team Engage closely with engineering, data, AI, and product teams to align architecture with broader business priorities Develop and maintain architecture documentation, standards, and guidelines Leadership & Influence Define and champion architectural standards and best practices across the engagements you support, bringing depth on tradeoffs, long-term implications, and responsible AI practices Mentor and grow engineers at all levels, multiplying impact through coaching, code reviews, and pairing on hard problems Own the most difficult architectural, integration, and agentic-system challenges, serving as the senior technical decision-maker and driving them through to production with care for reliability, cost, and safety Evaluate emerging technologies — especially in the agentic AI and AWS ecosystems — and recommend tools, frameworks, and patterns that improve architecture over time What You'll Bring 8+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 5 years in technical leadership roles and 4+ years focused on AI/ML systems in productionExpert software engineering background (Python or similar) with strong design sensibilities for scalable, maintainable systems Deep, hands-on expertise designing and shipping production multi-agent agentic AI systems, including agent orchestration, planning, tool use, and multi-agent coordination patterns Deep expertise with AWS, including in-depth knowledge of AWS GenAI offerings and hands-on experience with Amazon Bedrock AgentCore;
