We Are Looking For
We are seeking teaching assistants who are currently in their second or third year of the Bachelor's Programme in Interaction Design, or in their second year of the Master's Programme in Interaction Design at Malmö University, and who will continue their studies during the autumn semester of 2026.
As a teaching assistant, you will become part of a group of students whose primary responsibility is to support teaching staff. We are looking for 5 to 7 individuals who will share approximately 350 hours of work.
Duties and Responsibilities
The position involves assisting staff within K3's educational programmes, primarily within the field of mechatronics.
Examples of duties include:
Teaching, workshop facilitation, and preparation of educational activities related to programming, microcontrollers, and mechatronics.
Administrative tasks, as well as participation in research projects or artistic development work, may also be included.
Eligibility Requirements
Eligibility requirements refer to qualifications that must be met for an applicant to be considered for employment.
Applicants must be enrolled in the second or third year of the Bachelor's Programme in Interaction Design, or the second year of the Master's Programme in Interaction Design at Malmö University, and must continue their studies in the autumn semester of 2026.
Specific Requirements:
Practical skills and competencies must be demonstrated through a portfolio.
Good command of spoken and written English.
Particularly Meritorious Qualifications:
Programming skills: Digital material prototyping is central to the IOIO Mechatronics Lab. Applicants should be interested in developing their programming skills further and participating in related educational activities.
Knowledge of materials and hardware: Materials such as wood, metal, paint, and electronics are part of everyday practice in the lab. As a teaching assistant, you should be open to developing knowledge in these areas and willing to apply your skills in teaching activities.
Knowledge of digital tools: We are looking for students familiar with using computers for basic photo editing, video editing, 3D modelling, and programming.
Experience of administrative work.
Experience of teaching.
Experience of research projects and artistic development work.
In addition to formal qualifications, Malmö University employees are expected to possess the personal qualities necessary to perform their duties effectively and represent the University in a professional manner. The School of Arts and Communication (K3)
The School of Arts and Communication is part of the interdisciplinary Faculty of Culture and Society. Commonly known as K3 (from the Swedish name Konst, Kultur och Kommunikation), the department has approximately 80 teaching staff and 1,000 full-time students. We offer undergraduate and postgraduate education in media, interaction design, and cultural studies. Our programmes and courses cover English Studies, Media and Communication Studies, Cultural Journalism, Visual Communication, Interaction Design, and a broad range of media production subjects. At K3, we combine traditional research and academic knowledge with artistic methods and practical skills.
