Your Responsibilities Your responsibilities will vary; however, some of them will be to: * Prepare a list of required information following the completion of the bookkeeping functions. * Set up and monitor bank payments on various banking platforms. * Credit control functions including preparing statements for clients. * Prepare VAT returns and submit once approved. * Prepare balance sheet reconciliations. * Prepare system driven management accounts. * Prepare supplier reconciliations. * Purchase ledger and sales ledger functions. * Build & maintain adequate knowledge of Zero accounting package. Role: Financial Controller Location: London Role Overview As Financial Controller you will be leading a global finance team and reporting to the Group Finance Director. You will be responsible for the month end and year-end financial and management reporting for our UK and overseas subsidiaries including Brazil, Netherlands, US, Germany, France and Kenya entities and working with our local partners, the associated global consolidated reporting. The role will continually develop as the organisation grows, for example into Asia. Key responsibilities * Ownership of global reporting. Delivering accurate, consolidated and timely monthly, quarterly and annual management and statutory reporting * Ownership of period-end accounting and consolidation accounts for management and statutory reporting. * Leading the annual group audit, being the key contact for our group auditors and managing a team to deliver the audit on time. * Accountable for mandatory filing of financial statements and tax returns (ie. CIT and VAT) for Systemiq’s global subsidiaries through collaboration with local accountants and BPOs. * Leading subsidiaries’ local audits (mandatory and ad-hoc) and responsible for all compliance matters across the group. This will involve navigating complex statutory accounting, tax laws and transfer pricing with the help of locally engaged accounting firms * Oversight of internal controls and banking approvals for all financial outgoings (eg. Accounts payable, statutory payments, exceptional transactions). * Manage the finance transactions team with support from the manager of accounts receivable and payable. * Working closely with the in-house legal counsel on exceptional matters related to governance, group structure, and risk management. * Team leadership of a small dispersed group of local financial professionals * Critically assess, adapt and update our existing systems, processes and procedures to suggest ways to improve efficiency. * Maintaining a strong financial control framework for the organisation globally. Skills and Experience Our ideal candidate will have a practise trained background with a desire to join a growing team and company to implement best practise and drive change. You will have worked in different contexts and will be keen to work in a young, entrepreneurial company where you can get involved in a variety of projects, shape the business, and make maximum impact. You are inspired by SYSTEMIQ’s mission and approach to system change. Essential Experience * Hold an active ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA or equivalent certification, with at least 2-3 years PQE. This will not be your first role out of practice though * Proven track record of working across both UK GAAP and IFRS and International compliance environments * Experience in running Group statutory audits in the UK and local statutory audits in overseas subsidiaries * Experience in Group consolidation processes with cross border transactions Core Capabilities * Proven technical accounting expertise across both UK and international jurisdictions * Regulatory navigation across contrasting tax jurisdictions, filing requirements, and compliance regimes. * Excellent attention to detail with the ability to relay complex financial information to others * Proven track record in small-team environments, requiring a balance of strategic leadership and direct execution of daily accounting tasks * Good problem solving and analytical skills and can produce engaging, concise, and timely management information. * Intellectual curiosity and an interest to quickly dive into new topics. * Collaborative team player and can-do attitude. * Able to work effectively as part of a diverse and inclusive team. * Entrepreneurial spirit with the ability to identify opportunities and new initiatives and to turn them into reality. * Resilience under stress and resourcefulness to deliver. * Alignment with SYSTEMIQ's values (creativity, challenge, collaborate, change, care). Location: London Status: Permanent Reports to: Financial Controller Job Purpose: The Management Accountant is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of the month-end close and management reporting for the Foundation’s entities. Reporting to the Financial Controller, this role takes hands-on ownership of preparing the management accounts with commentary for assigned regional entities and reporting categories, whilst reviewing the month-end work and reconciliations prepared by the Associate Accountants. Working alongside the FP&A team, this role focuses heavily on balance sheet integrity, robust financial controls, and ensuring the absolute accuracy of the trial balance. Principal accountabilities: Management Reporting & Month-End Close * Preparation: Own the end-to-end month-end close process and prepare comprehensive management accounts with variance commentary to assure accuracy. * Review: Perform a technical review of the month-end close packages and supporting reconciliations prepared by the Associate Accountants for other designated regional entities. * Variance & Data Integrity: Collaborate cross-departmentally (e.g., with HR, IT, Operations) to ensure correct accruals and analyse variances to ensure the numbers are correct prior to handing over to the FP&A team. * Balance Sheet Control: Perform and maintain detailed balance sheet reconciliations to ensure outstanding items are investigated and resolved promptly. * Intercompany: Manage intercompany transactions and reconciliations across the regional entities. Audit, Compliance & Technical Support * Support the Financial controller in the preparation of year-end audit files, trial balances, and supporting schedules, acting as a key point of contact for external auditors. * Support the Financial Controller in reviewing year-end packages, statutory financial statements, and compliance filings. * Ensure all accounting treatments comply with relevant local standards and overall Group accounting policies. Process Optimisation & Systems * Identify opportunities to standardise accounting processes and templates * Support the Financial Controller in optimizing ERP usage (Microsoft Business Central) and workflow tools to automate manual tasks. Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience Qualifications * Fully Qualified Accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA or equivalent). Knowledge & Experience * Proven experience in a technical Management Accountant or General Ledger role within a multi-entity, multi-currency environment. * Strong background in balance sheet control, reconciliations, and complex month-end close processes. * Hands-on experience preparing management accounts with commentary, alongside experience reviewing the trial balances and reconciliations of other entities/colleagues. * Experience working across European and/or APAC entities is highly advantageous. * High proficiency with modern ERP systems, preferably Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central. * Advanced Excel skills Skills & Attributes * Team player with a strong work ethic. * Attention to detail. * Strong technical accounting skills with high attention to detail * Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities; able to scrutinize numbers and identify errors. * Proactive communicator, comfortable reaching out to other departments to clarify variances. * Self-motivated and organized * Adaptable and positive mindset towards process change, automation, and system upgrades.
