Hybrid working model (3 days+ in office per week) Privately-owned companies play a vital role in the UK’s economic growth, both at a local and national level. We’re already the trusted data provider to central government, universities and local authorities – and now we're looking for a Lead AE to take public sector engagement to the next level. ABOUT BEAUHURST We’re building the leading provider of private company data and analysis in Europe. Private companies represent 80% of private sector employment and over 90% of revenues across Europe. They are the engine of innovation and the source of most of the jobs and tax receipts in the economy. Yet for anyone trying to find, track or understand them, the data is a mess – outdated, inconsistent, scattered across thousands of sources, and impossible to verify by hand at any meaningful scale. We've spent 15 years fixing this. We use custom-built data extraction tools and pipelines, proprietary AI, and a team of 60+ in-house analysts to identify, extract and verify data from thousands of sources – covering 20 million companies, 24 million people, 232,000 transactions, and 1,000+ new news articles a day. Our platform, API, and consultancy services are trusted by our clients to enable them to make better decisions, drive revenue, reduce risk, and save time. Founded in 2010, we work with over 500 UK organisations across venture capital, major financial institutions, corporates, leading universities, and the Government. We're not stopping here. We launched in Germany last year as our first step in international expansion, and are now scaling across Europe – Ireland next, then more. THE ROLE We've been supplying top-tier data and analysis on private companies to public sector organisations for years. And the opportunity ahead is substantial – public sector demand for high-quality private company intelligence is growing fast, and we're well positioned to capture it. We're looking for a senior salesperson with deep public sector expertise to own this market – building and executing the playbook for how Beauhurst wins large, strategic deals with central government, universities and local authorities. This is a senior role that combines strategy and execution. You'll be responding to major tenders, but you'll also be generating significant pipeline outside of them – through cold outreach, marketing-led campaigns, events, and your own network. You'll have a proven MEDDIC-led methodology and a fully developed tech stack to support you, and you'll be helping shape how we price our product, prioritise our territory and evolve our offering. Your day-to-day will include: * Owning public sector strategy: Shaping and executing the playbook for how Beauhurst wins large public sector deals * Tender response: Identifying, entering and winning major public sector tenders, particularly for data-related products * Pipeline generation outside tenders: Strategic outbound, marketing-led campaigns, events, and networking to build pipeline beyond what tenders deliver * Managing complex sales cycles: Running deals from a few months to a year+, closing £100k+ p/a contracts with senior decision-makers * Contributing to GTM strategy: Working closely with senior leadership on territory prioritisation, pricing and product direction ABOUT YOU * 8+ years selling into large public sector organisations – ideally central government and universities – in a SaaS or consultancy-led capacity * Consistent track record closing £100k+ p/a deals in complex, consultative sales environments * Proven history of entering and winning tenders, particularly for data-related products * Proven history of generating pipeline outside of tenders through outbound, events and networking * Clear evidence of being a self-starter – you've owned or launched a public sector vertical or initiative, whether at a corporate or a high-growth startup The traits that matter most: * Intelligent – We sell a complex product to lots of types of organisations; you learn fast and are keen to understand how our products can solve many different challenges for them * Strategic and entrepreneurial – You see the bigger picture, build the plan, and execute against it. You choose the pain of hard work now over the pain of failure later. * Deep public sector knowledge – You understand how government bodies operate across the local-to-central spectrum and you're credible with senior decision-makers in this world * Coachable and resilient – You actively seek out feedback, bounce back fast from setbacks, and you're a lifelong learner of sales OUR OFFER We're offering a competitive starting salary including periodic bonus targets & uncapped commission. We also invest a lot in keeping our people happy and healthy. So as well as that, you'll also get: 💰 A stake in the company: This is huge - everything you do will create value in the company that you will partly own 🩺 Healthcare: Our health cash plan will cover all of your day-to-day health and wellness needs 💝 Free therapy: Sessions with any of our hand-picked counsellors, all on us 🎓 Professional development: You drive your own development - if you want to do some training, bring it to us and we’ll foot the bill 🎉 Events: Company-wide parties and away days, drinks every Friday, regular team socials - what can we say, we enjoy each other’s company 🚅 Subsidised travel: Season ticket loans, free railcards, and a cycle to work scheme 🍪 Clubs: Whether you enjoy reading, padel, bouldering or biscuits there will be a subsidised club for you If you want to read more about our benefits, our company culture, or our hybrid working policy, just check out these pages.
