About Statusphere Statusphere is an influencer-marketing technology platform built for enterprise brands to make human-generated content scalable, measurable and brand-safe across social, retail and paid media channels. The platform uses AI to automate and orchestrate large-scale creator programs, from sourcing and vetting influencers, to fulfillment, compliance, tracking and rights management. Brands including Express, Parlux, Kendo Brands, and LG H&H use Statusphere to drive social SEO, improve product discoverability and generate measurable sales impact online and in-store. For more information, visit www.joinstatus.com. About the Role Statusphere is seeking its first In-House Counsel to serve as the company’s day-to-day legal resource and lead the commercial contracting function. This attorney will focus primarily on client-side negotiations, independently moving agreements from initial review through signature after business terms are established. The role is designed for a practical, commercially minded transactional attorney who works with urgency, learns the business deeply, and understands the revenue, customer, product, and operational drivers behind each decision. This person must be able to distinguish between acceptable commercial risk and material legal exposure, keep deals moving, and give the COO/CFO and other C-level leaders clear recommendations (not simply identify issues or restate contract language). You will manage a meaningful monthly volume of inbound and outbound agreements, including enterprise SaaS and digital-credit contracts, agency and customized client agreements, vendor SaaS contracts, consulting agreements, MSAs, SOWs, NDAs, and related documents. You will also own routine corporate legal matters such as website Terms & Conditions, the Privacy Policy, payment-related legal questions, and operational legal guidance. You will report to the COO/CFO and work closely with Sales, Finance, Operations, Product, Security, and Customer Success. Specialized, novel, or high-risk matters may be escalated to outside counsel as appropriate. What You’ll Do • Own commercial contracting. Draft, review, redline, negotiate, and close client, agency, and customized agreements, including MSAs, SOWs, order forms that focus on Saas and digital-credit and usage-based arrangements, NDAs, and amendments. • Lead client-side legal negotiations with speed. Take ownership of legal terms once commercial terms are set; respond and turn drafts quickly, negotiate directly with client legal, procurement, privacy, and security teams, and maintain momentum through execution. Provide business stakeholders with concise status updates, clearly framed risks, and the specific decisions needed to close. • Manage vendor and consulting agreements. Review and negotiate inbound SaaS, technology, data, professional-services, contractor, and consulting agreements, balancing operational needs, speed, cost, and risk. • Apply commercially calibrated risk judgment. Negotiate and provide practical guidance on liability caps, indemnities, warranties, intellectual property and content rights, confidentiality, data use, security, privacy, insurance, payment, termination, and dispute provisions. Understand which protections are essential, where Statusphere can responsibly accept risk, and when an issue requires executive or outside-counsel escalation. • Own website and product legal content. Maintain and periodically update website Terms & Conditions, Privacy Policy, cookie and consent language, and other customer- or user-facing legal notices in coordination with Product, Marketing, Security, and outside specialists. • Own Creator-Statusphere and Brand-Creator Agreements. Signed for each campaign and brands may have specific versions of this to deploy which must be monitored and auditable. • Provide operational legal guidance. Answer day-to-day questions involving payments, contracting authority, creator relationships, content and usage rights, compliance, business processes, and other legal issues arising across the company. • Build scalable legal operations. Create and maintain templates, clause libraries, negotiation playbooks, approval thresholds, fallback positions, intake processes, signature workflows, and a contract repository that improve speed and consistency. • Advise executives and manage escalation. Present the COO/CFO and other C-level leaders with a concise assessment of the issue, business impact, likelihood and severity of risk, available options, and a clear recommended path. Prioritize matters by business impact and coordinate outside counsel for specialized, jurisdiction-specific, or high-risk matters. • Partner cross-functionally and learn the business. Build a strong working understanding of Statusphere’s customers, creator ecosystem, products, revenue model, deal economics, and operating workflows. Work closely with Sales and other teams to remove deal blockers, support accurate handoffs, and ensure contractual commitments are understood, documented, and operationally achievable. • Other duties and projects as assigned What We’re Looking For • 4–6 years of post-J.D. transactional legal experience at a leading law firm, established corporation, high-growth startup, or a combination of these environments. • Meaningful experience independently handling a high monthly volume of commercial contracts with consistently quick turnaround, while serving internal business partners who expect Legal to own the language, negotiation, risk recommendation, and path to resolution—not simply confirm their interpretation. • Strong experience negotiating B2B SaaS, technology, digital services, agency, consulting, vendor, MSA, SOW, NDA, and customized commercial agreements. • Demonstrated ability to run contract negotiations directly with sophisticated counterparties while maintaining momentum, protecting priority positions, and making commercially sound tradeoffs based on the company’s business model and objectives. • Working knowledge of U.S. privacy and data-protection requirements, including CCPA/CPRA, and familiarity with GDPR and data-processing concepts relevant to SaaS and marketing technology. • Sound judgment across intellectual property, content and data rights, confidentiality, indemnification, limitation of liability, warranties, security, insurance, payment, and termination issues. • Executive-level communication skills and the ability to translate legal issues into concise business guidance: what the risk is, how it could affect the company, whether it is acceptable, what alternatives exist, and what action you recommend. • Highly organized, responsive, and comfortable operating autonomously in a fast-moving remote environment with competing deadlines; known for rapid, reliable turnaround without sacrificing judgment or quality. • A service-oriented, low-ego approach and the confidence to make decisions, escalate appropriately, and collaborate constructively across functions. Education & Bar Admission • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school. • Active membership in good standing with at least one U.S. state bar. Work Experience • Experience as an in-house attorney or on secondment in a SaaS, marketing technology, advertising technology, digital media, creator-economy, or enterprise technology business. • Experience with usage-based, prepaid-credit, subscription, or other nontraditional software pricing models. • Experience maintaining website terms, privacy notices, consent language, and practical privacy-compliance processes. • Familiarity with contract-lifecycle management tools, e-signature platforms, structured intake workflows, and legal operations reporting. How Success Will Be Measured • Client and vendor contracts progress rapidly from commercial handoff through execution, with clear ownership, responsive turnaround, and minimal unnecessary business-team involvement in legal language. • Legal risks and required decisions are identified early and communicated to C-level leaders in plain language, with commercially grounded options and a clear recommendation. • Templates, playbooks, approvals, and workflows improve consistency and measurably shorten contract turnaround time as volume grows. • Website, privacy, payment, and routine operational legal matters remain current, well managed, and aligned with the business. Work Environment This is a full-time, remote U.S. position. The role requires regular collaboration across time zones and occasional travel for company or team meetings. No special physical demands are required. What You’ll Get • Competitive compensation commensurate with experience • Medical, dental, and vision insurance • Flexible FTO and paid holidays • 4% 401(k) match • Work-from-anywhere flexibility • Paid parental leave • Employee stock options • The opportunity to build Statusphere’s in-house legal function and legal operating model • A collaborative, innovative, positive, and team-oriented culture The salary range for this position is $175,000–$205,000. Compensation decisions are influenced by multiple factors, including but not limited to education, prior experience, training, skills, certifications, market demand, and internal equity. While this is a remote role, we are prioritizing candidates located in the following states: CA, CO, FL, GA, IL, MI, NJ, NY, PA, SC,TN,TX,UT,WI, & VA.
This is Adyen Adyen provides payments, data, and financial products in a single solution for customers like Meta, Uber, H&M, and Microsoft - making us the financial technology platform of choice. At Adyen, everything we do is engineered for ambition. Our Payment Solutions team is the engine behind this, processing billions of transactions while empowering businesses to create seamless payment experiences. As Adyen and our merchants scale globally, the complexity and volume of our operational knowledge are growing exponentially. Senior Software Engineer AI/ML - Payments To position our Payments organization at the technological forefront, we are establishing a GenAI team focused on identifying high-impact use cases for automation through agentic capabilities. As a Senior Software Engineer AI/ML, you will undertake some of the most technically demanding work in applied AI: designing agents that reason over complex, multi-step tasks, building the infrastructure to ensure production-grade reliability, and shaping how humans and AI collaborate at scale within a global payments company. This is not a narrow research role. You will take full ownership of your work, from early research through deployed production systems, influence the team's technical direction, and act as a force multiplier for the broader AI organization, including contributing to custom model development for structured financial data, and working toward our longer-term ambition of defining how humans and AI collaborate at scale across the company. What you’ll do: * Discover and Build: You will be an explorer within Adyen, proactively engaging with product and engineering teams to uncover their most critical challenges. You won't wait for instructions; you'll find high-impact opportunities and rapidly design and build AI prototypes (MVPs) to demonstrate value. * Develop Strategic AI Products: You will own the end-to-end development of bespoke AI tools that solve problems unique to Adyen's scale. Whether it's optimizing merchant experience, enhancing pricing models, or improving internal workflows, you will build intelligent solutions. * Own Evaluation and Benchmarking: Define and lead the evaluation strategy for the agentic systems and LLMs your team builds and deploys. Design internal benchmarks grounded in real domain complexity, probing for genuine capabilities, edge cases, and failure modes that standard metrics miss. Build reusable evaluation infrastructure that is embedded in the development process, not bolted on after the fact. * Provide AI Expertise Across the Organization: Serve as a technical resource for AI initiatives across Adyen - evaluating agentic frameworks, retrieval and search strategies, or agent tool-use approaches across partner teams. Surface connections across initiatives and help teams avoid duplicating work or converging on the wrong approach. * Raise the Bar: Set engineering standards for the team and company. Provide mentorship through problem decomposition, research methodology, and code review. Champion reproducibility, documentation, and rigorous evaluation practices across the AI organization. Who you are: * You have 7+ years of hands-on experience in applied AI/ML research or engineering, with a clear track record of shipping AI systems, including agentic or LLM-powered systems, in production environments. * You have deep expertise in language models and Generative AI, with hands-on depth across several of: architecture, post-training (fine-tuning, RLHF), inference optimization, context engineering (RAG), and failure modes at scale. * You have proven experience designing and operating agentic systems at scale, multi-agent orchestration, tool use, memory and context management, state handling for long-running workflows, and human-in-the-loop design. You understand what separates production agents from research prototypes. * You are rigorous and systematic about evaluation. You have designed evaluation frameworks or internal benchmarks that go beyond standard metrics. You understand the failure modes of LLM-as-judge approaches and know how to measure what actually matters for a given system and use-case. * You have a strong foundation in classical machine learning: supervised learning, ensemble methods, optimization, probabilistic modeling, and statistics. You reach for the appropriate tool for the problem. * You write clean, well-structured, production-ready code, primarily Python, and you hold research code to an engineering standard. * You have hands-on experience with at least one production-grade agentic framework. Nice to Have (tell us about them!) * Familiarity with financial data, payments, fraud detection, or risk systems. * Track record of external visibility: publications, conference presentations, or open-source contributions. * Experience with observability and evaluation tooling. * Familiarity with MLOps and model deployment pipelines in large-scale environments. Our Diversity, Equity and Inclusion commitments Our unique approach is a product of our diverse perspectives. This diversity of backgrounds and cultures is essential in helping us maintain our momentum. Our business and technical challenges are unique, and we need as many different voices as possible to join us in solving them - voices like yours. No matter who you are or where you’re from, we welcome you to be your true self at Adyen. Studies show that women and members of underrepresented communities apply for jobs only if they meet 100% of the qualifications. Does this sound like you? If so, Adyen encourages you to reconsider and apply. We look forward to your application! What’s next? Ensuring a smooth and enjoyable candidate experience is critical for us. We aim to get back to you regarding your application within 5 business days. Our interview process tends to take about 4 weeks to complete, but may fluctuate depending on the role. Learn more about our hiring process here. Don’t be afraid to let us know if you need more flexibility. This role is based out of our Amsterdam office.
