We are now looking for a Project Controller to join our PMO team at Outokumpu's Avesta Works. In this role, you will be instrumental in ensuring that our projects are delivered according to plan, within budget, and aligned with business objectives. About the Role As a Project Controller, you will support project managers and project teams by providing structure, transparency, and financial control throughout the project lifecycle. You will be responsible for monitoring project schedules, budgets, forecasts, and performance, ensuring that decision-makers have access to accurate and timely information. Working within the PMO organization, you will collaborate closely with Project Management, Operations, Finance, HR, and other key stakeholders across the business. Your contribution will be essential in driving successful project execution and supporting strategic investment decisions. Your Key Responsibilities Manage and monitor project schedules, costs, and budgets. Support Project Managers with planning, forecasting, and project control activities. Provide financial follow-up and cost control to ensure projects remain within approved budgets. Prepare monthly project reporting for Project Management and Finance. Analyze project data and provide insights to support decision-making. Develop and monitor project KPIs and performance metrics. Identify risks, deviations, and opportunities, and support mitigation actions. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within project governance and reporting processes. Ensure high-quality documentation, reporting, and stakeholder communication. Who Are You? We are looking for a structured and proactive professional who enjoys working in a dynamic project environment. You combine strong analytical capabilities with excellent communication skills and are comfortable collaborating with stakeholders at all levels of the organization. We believe you have: A university degree in Finance, Business Administration, Engineering, Industrial Management, or a related field. Experience in project controlling, project management, or financial project support. Proven experience in project control with a focus on scheduling and financial management. Experience from large industrial, manufacturing, investment, or plant-related projects is highly desirable. Strong analytical skills and the ability to use data to support decision-making. Good understanding of industrial processes and project delivery practices. Experience working with project management tools and software. The ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders simultaneously. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Fluency in English; Swedish is considered an advantage. Why Outokumpu? YOUR MISSION We are looking for a hands-on Project Controller to strengthen financial transparency and capital discipline across our development projects. The Project Controller will report to the Head of Controlling. In this role, you will work at the intersection of Finance and Operations, ensuring that project costs, development expenditure, Capex and financial forecasts are reliable, transparent and decision-ready. Your contribution will directly support management steering and investment decisions as Cube Green Energy and SUNfarming continue to scale their renewable energy platform. This is a hands-on role in a dynamic growth environment, focused on building structure, improving visibility and embedding financial discipline at project level. * Track development expenditures, DevEx and Capex against approved budgets * Identify deviations early and prepare structured variance analyses * Ensure clear cost allocation, documentation and transparency across project phases * Review and challenge project cost assumptions, budgets and forecasts * Validate financial inputs provided by project teams * Support fact-based discussions on cost development, risks and funding implications * Support investment approval processes with structured financial data * Provide scenario and sensitivity analyses where required * Ensure project data feeds into group-level performance steering * Prepare regular project controlling reports * Align project data with FP&A and liquidity planning * Ensure consistency between project budgets, forecasts and cash implications * Support the preparation of management reporting materials YOUR PROFILE * Degree in Finance, Controlling, Business Administration or a related field * 3–6 years of experience in project controlling, operational controlling or a comparable finance role * Strong analytical skills and a structured working style * Ability to challenge assumptions constructively and independently * Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis * Hands-on mindset with a strong execution focus * Advanced Excel skills; ERP knowledge required, NetSuite experience is a plus * Strong communication skills and ability to work across Finance and Operations * Ownership mindset and a proactive approach to problem-solving * Ability to create structure and improve transparency in a growing organization * Confidence in working with project teams, finance stakeholders and management * Pragmatic, detail-oriented working style * Interest in contributing to financial discipline and scalable finance processes in a renewable energy platform You will play a key role in strengthening project cost transparency, capital discipline and financial decision-making across the group.
