WHO WE ARE Sapien is rethinking how finance teams operate in the age of AI. We’re building toward an autonomous CFO—systems that run company financials end-to-end. Our platform analyzes complex financial data in real time to increase decision cadence, prevent costly mistakes, and surface value. Sapien has caught multi-million-dollar errors, saved thousands of jobs, and returned significant dollars to customers’ bottom lines. We partner with traditional businesses—manufacturing, healthcare, restaurants, and large enterprises—to deeply understand and automate their financial workflows. We’re HQ’d by Madison Square Park in NYC and backed by General Catalyst, Neo, and top operators from Google, OpenAI, Microsoft, Ramp, and Stripe (over $9M raised). THE ROLE You'll design and build the interfaces that make AI agents usable for finance teams. This means creating new interaction patterns for how humans work with autonomous systems, building the design systems that scale across our platform, and obsessing over the details that make complex workflows feel simple. This is a design-focused frontend role where craft and user experience matter deeply. You'll own the visual and interaction design of features while implementing them in production. WHAT YOU'LL DO * Design and build interfaces that make agent operations transparent and controllable. Create new interaction patterns for real-time AI workflows, verification systems, and human-in-the-loop feedback that don't exist yet. * Prototype and iterate rapidly on new interface concepts. Work directly with customers to test designs, watch how they interact with features, and refine based on real usage. * Design information hierarchies that surface the right data at the right time. Help users understand complex financial operations, agent reasoning, and data relationships without overwhelming them. * Establish design standards and documentation that help the team ship consistent, high-quality interfaces as we scale. WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR * Product thinking about user experience. You've designed features, tested them with users, and iterated based on how people actually use them. * Experience building or contributing to design systems. You understand component architecture, tokens, consistency, and how design scales across a product. * Ability to balance beauty with function. You care about aesthetics but know when to prioritize usability, performance, and shipping. * Frontend development experience with React and TypeScript. You can implement your designs in production-quality code, not just hand off mockup * CS degree or equivalent experience. We care most about what you've built. HOW YOU WORK (VALUES WE CARE ABOUT) * Ownership: You see designs through to production. You don't stop at mockups. You implement them, refine interactions based on how they feel in the browser, and fix polish issues until it's right. * Opinionated: You have strong perspectives on what makes good design and aren't afraid to advocate for user experience. You push back on features that would make the product worse and propose better solutions. * Mission-driven: You understand that interface decisions determine whether finance teams trust and adopt AI. You care about building products that transform how businesses run. * Collaborative excellence: You elevate the team's design thinking. You give thoughtful feedback on interfaces, share design patterns and techniques, and raise the bar for polish across the product.

The Head of Design is accountable for building and leading a high-performing design organisation, driving innovation through AI-augmented design practices, and ensuring that design functions as a strategic capability that de-risks business decisions through rapid prototyping, consumer research, and evidence-based experimentation. Key Responsibilities Strategic Leadership & Executive Partnership • Define and own the design vision and strategy for the organisation, ensuring design is embedded at the centre of product development, content strategy, and commercial decision-making. • Partner directly with the CEO, Chief Strategy Officer, and senior leadership team on company-direction initiatives, contributing design perspective to business strategy, market positioning, and growth planning. • Lead the transformation of the design function from a production-oriented service into a Research & Development capability, where every strategic bet is validated through design-led prototyping and consumer evidence before full investment. • Represent Design at executive forums, board presentations, and cross-functional leadership meetings, advocating for user-centred decision-making and design-led innovation. Design Organisation & Team Leadership • Build, lead, and develop a multidisciplinary design team of approximately 10 professionals spanning product design, UX research, and consumer insights. • Establish and maintain design hiring standards, career progression frameworks, and professional development programmes to attract and retain top design talent. • Foster a culture of design excellence, creative rigour, and continuous learning within the team and across the broader organisation. • Drive AI adoption and AI-augmented design workflows across the team, achieving high levels of productivity through modern tooling and automated processes. Innovation & AI Integration • Pioneer the integration of AI and machine learning into the design workflow, including AI-first design systems that connect design components directly to AI coding tools to eliminate inconsistencies and accelerate development. • Lead the development of LLM-optimised content templates and information architectures that ensure content is structured for both human consumption and machine-readable citation by large language models. • Drive design innovation through rapid prototyping, consumer testing, and iterative experimentation, enabling the organisation to validate ideas at low cost before committing engineering resources. • Identify and evaluate emerging design technologies, tools, and methodologies that can provide competitive advantage. Cross-Functional Collaboration & Influence • Partner with Product, Engineering, Editorial, Growth, SEO, and Data Science teams to ensure design thinking is integrated across all workstreams and business decisions. • Collaborate with commercial and partnerships teams to design consumer experiences that drive revenue growth, lead generation, and partner engagement. • Establish and lead cross-functional design review processes, ensuring alignment between design direction and business objectives. • Act as the primary advocate for consumer needs within the organisation, embedding consumer insights and user research evidence into strategic planning and prioritisation. TL;DR We're looking for a Senior Product Manager to own the design and visual building experience at Lovable. You'll lead visual editing, content editing, design systems, and theming, all AI-first, making sure that what people build with Lovable is consistent, on-brand, and easy to experiment with. Why Lovable? Lovable lets anyone and everyone build software with any language. From solopreneurs to Fortune 100 teams, millions of people use Lovable to transform raw ideas into real products - fast. What we're looking for * 6+ years in the software industry, with experience in product management or engineering leadership on design tools, visual editors, or creative platforms (Figma, Canva, Webflow, or similar) * Deep understanding of design systems, theming, typography, and layout, and a sharp eye for what makes visual output feel professional rather than amateur * Experience thinking about design in an AI-first context, including how generative AI can produce, adapt, and maintain visual quality at scale * Technical curiosity: you don't need to code, but you understand how design tools and AI systems work under the hood well enough to make good product calls * Preferred: Prior experience closing the gap between AI-generated output and genuinely designed experiences; strong opinions on how AI should make design decisions on behalf of users What you'll do * Represent the user. Bring findings on design quality, visual editing workflows, and content creation patterns to the team with clarity and conviction * Run discovery end-to-end: user interviews, competitive research, usability testing, data analysis, and crafting messaging for upcoming features * Own the design quality bar. Make sure AI-generated outputs are consistent, on-brand, and give users the confidence to experiment freely and ship * Scope ruthlessly. Ship the right slice of functionality, validate what works through user feedback and metrics, and cut what doesn't * Enable sales, support, and marketing with the context they need to talk about design features accurately and confidently * Projects you'll tackle first: Auditing the current state of AI-generated visual output and defining the quality gaps; owning the first iteration of a coherent theming and design system experience; running discovery on the visual editing workflows users rely on most and where they break down About your application Please submit your application in English.
