While cybersecurity threats in AI are often studied in software-based environments, the physical embodiment of AI in robots and autonomous systems introduces new, largely unexplored risks and opportunities. This PhD project will investigate: How embodiment and physical configuration affect the cybersecurity posture of AI-driven systems; The role of self-awareness in security, i.e., how robots can assess their own vulnerabilities based on their embodiment and operational state; How dynamic reconfiguration can enhance resilience, e.g., redistributing sensor reliance, modifying behaviour or adjusting control strategies in response to attacks. Rather than relying solely on traditional security mechanisms, this research aims to explore how AI systems can proactively evaluate their own weak points and autonomously adapt to mitigate security risks. About the Role ManoMotion is looking for a highly skilled Computer Vision Engineer to develop robust, high-performance vision solutions for real-world applications. Our AI Engineers manage the day-to-day work related to neural-network architecture, training, testing, and data management. This role will work closely with them while focusing more deeply on the complete computer-vision system. You will combine machine learning with advanced image analysis, detection, tracking, geometry, filtering, and algorithmic methods to improve the accuracy, stability, latency, and reliability of our products. ABOUT THE ROLE The Machine Learning Engineer will join a newly formed team focused on MLOps and ML Engineering within the data science team. This role is crucial for uplifting the existing ML infrastructure into a robust, scalable, and production-ready system, specifically supporting the increasing needs of the company. The engineer will design, build, and maintain the infrastructure, tools, and processes required for continuous integration, continuous delivery, and continuous training (CI/CD/CT) of machine learning models. This is a highly technical role that will interface with data scientists, data engineers, data architects and software engineers to ensure the reliability and performance of ML systems at scale.
