technical aspects of the Snowflake platform
Now, the team is growing, and we are looking for a Software Engineer to join us. In this role, you will work closely with the
state of the art LLM models, fine-tune them, develop agents, apply various clusterings, summarizations, embeddings, and so on.
Even though we usually use high-level libraries (e.g., scikit or Snowflake’s Cortex) rather than perform matrix multiplications
ourselves, some prior ML experience is definitely useful.
As a Software Engineer, you will contribute to the development of ML and LLM-based solutions, propose new ideas, and keep

At Snowflake, we are powering the era of the agentic enterprise. To usher in this new era, we seek AI-native thinkers across every function who are energized by the opportunity to reinvent how they work. You don’t just use tools; you possess an innate curiosity, treating AI as a high-trust collaborator that is core to how you solve problems and accelerate your impact. We look for low-ego individuals who thrive in dynamic and fast-moving environments and move with an experimental mindset — who rapidly test emerging capabilities to discover simpler, more powerful ways to deliver results. At Snowflake, your role isn't just to execute a function, but to help redefine the future of how work gets done. ABOUT THE ROLE We are looking for a software engineer to help build and evolve Snowflake’s NodeJS Driver and Universal Driver platform. This role sits at the intersection of developer experience, distributed systems, client libraries, and performance-sensitive infrastructure. You will work on the Node.js connector used by application developers today while also helping drive Snowflake’s Universal Driver architecture, which is consolidating multiple language drivers behind a shared core written in Rust with thin language-specific wrappers. In this role, you will contribute to secure connection and authentication flows, SQL execution, result handling, type conversions, compatibility, release quality, and long-term maintainability. You will partner closely with engineers across driver teams, test and performance engineering, release engineering, product management, documentation, and security to deliver reliable client connectivity at scale. WHAT YOU’LL DO * Design, implement, and maintain features in Snowflake’s NodeJS Driver, including connection lifecycle, statement execution, result processing, type handling, and error handling. * Improve the security and reliability of the driver stack, including work related to SSL/TLS, token handling, MFA/SSO flows, certificate validation, and secure authentication options. * Help evolve Snowflake’s Universal Driver architecture, which aims to replace independently maintained drivers with a shared core and consistent language wrappers. * Build and improve shared driver capabilities across core and wrapper layers, with attention to backward compatibility, consistency, and customer migration safety. * Drive high-quality engineering execution through testing, performance analysis, CI improvements, production issue response, and release readiness. * Collaborate with engineers across multiple language ecosystems and shared infrastructure to make Snowflake drivers simpler to maintain and easier for developers to adopt. * Partner with product, documentation, release engineering, and support stakeholders to deliver polished APIs, clear guidance, and dependable releases. WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR * Strong software engineering fundamentals in backend or systems-oriented development. * Professional experience with Node.js and JavaScript or TypeScript, especially in SDKs, APIs, infrastructure, or platform components. * Experience designing or maintaining developer-facing libraries, connectors, drivers, or other reusable platform abstractions. * Familiarity with database connectivity concepts such as sessions, query execution, result streaming, type mapping, retries, and error handling. * Experience building secure systems, including authentication, TLS, token management, and certificate-related controls. * A strong quality mindset, including automated testing, performance tuning, debugging, and production ownership. * Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across engineering, product, documentation, and release stakeholders. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS * Experience with systems programming or shared-core architectures, including Rust, C, or C++ interop. * Experience building cross-language platforms, FFI-based integrations, or wrapper architectures for multiple runtimes. * Experience with driver or connector performance work, compatibility testing, or release engineering for widely used client software. * Experience working on products where backward compatibility and customer migration risk are important design constraints. WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS Snowflake’s drivers are a critical part of how customers and internal teams connect applications to the platform. The NodeJS Driver is an important developer-facing integration surface, and Universal Driver is a strategic investment to unify architecture, improve consistency, reduce maintenance burden, and achieve equal or better performance across language ecosystems. This role is a chance to shape both the current developer experience in Node.js and the long-term future of Snowflake’s driver platform. Snowflake is the Data Cloud, a global network where thousands of organizations mobilize data with near-unlimited scale, concurrency, and performance. Inside Snowflake, the Developer Platform team is on a mission to win the hearts and minds of developers by making it seamless and intuitive to build with data. Our vision is to empower data engineers and app developers by delivering an exceptional, developer-first experience built on a foundation of simplicity, familiarity, and ease of use. We are looking for a Product Manager to take autonomous ownership of a core portfolio within the Developer Platform. You will manage the foundational interfaces and connectivity tools that developers rely on to interact with Snowflake. Unlike a typical feature-focused role, this position requires you to own a broader portfolio of products that determine how external applications connect to, automate, and build upon the Data Cloud. Working closely with engineering leadership, you will define the strategy for our programmatic surface area. Your goal is to ensure that as Snowflake’s capabilities grow, our developer ecosystem scales with it, prioritizing reliability, modern standards, and a friction-free developer lifecycle. AS A PRODUCT MANAGER ON THE DEVELOPER PLATFORM YOU WILL: * Own the product backlog and day-to-day execution for a key feature area of our developer platform. * Translate product strategy into detailed requirements, user stories, and clear specifications for your engineering team. * Become the subject matter expert for your product, serving as the go-to resource for engineering, marketing, sales, and the developer community. * Define and analyze the metrics that measure the success and adoption of your products. * Partner with senior product leaders to ensure your feature roadmap aligns with our broader strategic goals. * Engage directly with our developer community to deeply understand their workflows, pain points, and needs. OUR IDEAL PRODUCT MANAGER WILL HAVE: * 3-5 years of product management experience, with a proven track record of shipping products or features for a developer-facing tool, cloud service, or technical infrastructure product. We will also consider candidates with 5+ years of engineering experience in developer tools who are looking to transition into product management. * A strong understanding of the modern software development lifecycle, including CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform), and API design principles. * The ability to be a "technically credible partner" to engineering, capable of engaging in deep discussions about product architecture and trade-offs. * Deep empathy for developers, particularly those working with data, and a passion for solving their most frustrating workflow challenges. * Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with an ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Bonus Points For: * A technical degree (CS or Engineering) or equivalent software engineering experience. * Hands-on experience with Python, SQL, or Terraform. Why Join our Developer Platform Team at Snowflake: * Strategic Scope: You will own a portfolio that underpins the entire Snowflake ecosystem. Your work directly impacts how millions of queries and pipelines are executed daily. * Autonomy: This is a role for a self-starter. You will have the space to define the vision for your area and the support to execute it. * Impact: You will solve fundamental challenges for our most sophisticated customers, helping them treat Snowflake as a core part of their modern data stack.
