We are looking for personnel to join our team and support key client projects. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Who we are supporting  The NATO Joint Warfare Centre (JWC) is a NATO establishment focused on improving the Alliance's operational capabilities through training and exercises. Located in Stavanger, Norway, the JWC plays a critical role in preparing NATO forces for future challenges by: * Training and Exercises * Conducting large-scale, joint operational-level training events, simulations, and exercises to enhance interoperability among NATO member nations. * Doctrine Development * Contributing to the development and refinement of NATO doctrines and concepts by providing feedback and insights from exercises and training activities. * Operational Support * Offering expert support to NATO operations, missions, and exercises, ensuring that lessons learned are integrated into future training and planning.  The JWC supports NATO's overall strategic objectives by ensuring that its forces are well-prepared and capable of responding to various global threats and challenges. The program  To deliver each full exercise cycle the JWC relies heavily on an Exercise Control (EXCON) structure. EXCON staff members are drawn from several backgrounds and units including JWC staff, NATO component commands, Training Audience (TA) Headquarters, Partner Nations and other augmenters’ positions. EXCON has both direction and control functions which allow it to establish the conditions needed by the TA to achieve the exercise aim and objectives. EXCON size and structure is flexible and is shaped to the requirement of each phase of exercise delivery. When it is not possible to fill a position from military sources, the JWC has the option to source a contractor to fill a position. Not all contracted positions are required for each phase of each exercise. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Role Background The Intelligence (INTEL) support area simulates the NIFC (NATO Intelligence Fusion Centre). NIFC supports the exercise execution with full-spectrum, multi-domain operational and strategic intelligence, which is enabled by a wide range of intelligence disciplines, simulated national collection capabilities, and relevant subject matter expertise. INTEL creates the situational awareness for EXCON on intelligence matters and provides TAs with a RFI process and an array of resources to maximize training value. Role Duties and Responsibilities * Grant robust overall strategic situational awareness * Understand exercise and training objectives and ensure their representation of the scenario supports the training audience’s achievement of those objectives. * Assist JWC EXCON INTEL in the development of NIFC strategic and operational level scenario documents tailored to the TA and TO of exercise. * In accordance with JWC EXCON INTEL Chief’s guidance and management, and with all necessary coordination, generate appropriate exercise material to provide a challenging and realistic problem set to the TA in line with the TO and scenario. * Support the TA achievement of TO, through tailored and accurate delivery of scenario intel-related information. * Quickly read, digest, analyse and understand the comprehensive strategic/operational environment and situational awareness as depicted in the scenario documentation provided by JWC. * Understand and provide recommendations for improvement in the strategic/operational intelligence to refine or improve the scenario. * Be prepared to update and amend exercise and scenario documentation during the course of the exercise in order to ensure training objectives continue to be met. * Produce agendas, written speaking notes and minutes of meetings in support of scenario building, communication/coordination and knowledge management. * Monitor TA activity and output so as to provide timely feedback to JWC EXCON staff to amend and adapt the exercise as required. * Under JWC EXCON INTEL Chief’s guidance and management, be prepared to supply updates to JWC documentation to ensure representation of latest adversary doctrine/TTPs in area of intelligence subject matter expertise. * Attend JWC EXCON meetings as dictated by the EXCON battle rhythm and JWC EXCON INTEL Chief, providing NIFC Intelligence SME advice as required. * On request, provide feedback to JWC permanent staff for the improvement of NATO exercise processes. * Provide comprehensive P_ESII subject matter expertise (SME) replicating NATO Intelligence Fusion Centre (NIFC), to realistically represent the exercise scenario, with the emphasis on non-linear/hybrid domain based on the adversary strategy, to the training audience (TA). * In line with relevant existing policy and doctrine, understand and analyse developing TA planning process, plans, documentation and their impacts on the Commander’s decision-making process and Training Objectives (TO). * Act as one of the focal points for the TA for NIFC P_ESII strategic/operational level intelligence matters to include strategy, doctrine, TTPs as well as contribute to write/produce the P_ESII Strategic-operational level EXCON-NIFC Daily Intelligence Update (DIU) and strategic level assessment. * Contribute to the production of the MIL strategic level EXCON/NIFC Daily Intelligence Update (DIU) and strategic level assessment. * Coordinate the DIU production with NIFC Mil Strategic Analyst, other NIFC MIL Analyst(s), NIFC JISR CM and all the available Intel disciplines’ SMEs. Liaise with specific domain experts, such as Cyber, Space, Human Threat Network, StratCom. * Provide sufficient P_ESII SME knowledge to the TA in the NIFC DIUs with the holistic assessments injected into JEMM and published into INTEL-FS. Therefore, coordinate and support full comprehensive PMESII methodology on strategic- operational level, in line with doctrine and within EXCON. * Support and advice, during MMIDWS and/or MMSWS, in line with scenario settings and TO, a NIFC/OPFOR coordinated understanding of adversary Concept of Operations, for the NIFC way ahead of strategic/operational level intelligence and doctrines in the exercise conflict settings. * Replicate NIFC tasking to support the TA intelligence process and procedures in according with relevant doctrine. * Understand and analyse training audience plans (OPLAN) and other OPP documentation and their impacts on the INTEL development. * Assist TA by providing SME and scenario representation of NIFC DIU and appropriate focused strategic/operational intelligence assessments. * Coordinate and support full spectrum PMESII strategic intelligence and doctrinal operational matters within EXCON and NIFC team. * Act as NIFC P_ESII Analyst in meetings with the TA during the exercise, whether face to face, by VTC, phone, email or letter. Essential Skills and Experience * Demonstrated 3 years’ experience in the last 10 years with working in a National or NATO Strategic or Operational level Command as Intelligence Analyst. * Demonstrated 3 years’ experience in the last 10 years operational knowledge of Intelligence, either as a Military Officer or as a civilian. * Completion of the following courses: * NATO Intelligence Course or National equivalent * NATO Intelligence Analyst Course or National equivalent * NATO IRM & CM Course or National equivalent * NATO Intelligence Warning System (NIWS) Course or demonstrated working knowledge and experience within the last 5 years. * Knowledge and Understanding of the following: * NATO Air/Maritime/Ground/Space Sensor capabilities * Space Collection * NATO Targeting Process * NATO Comprehensive Understanding of the Operating Environment (CUOE) Process * NATO Intelligence Warning System (NIWS) * Demonstrated participation in NATO and/or international strategic planning exercises and operations as intelligence SME in the last 10 years. * Demonstrated 3 years’ experience in the last 10 years in briefing senior leaders at strategic/operational level in a National or Multinational environment. * Competent in Microsoft Word, Excel, SharePoint, Outlook and PowerPoint * Regular user of the following functional systems: * INTEL-FS * TOPFAS * BICES Language * Business English Working Location * Stavanger, Norway * Remote work may be requested on an ADHOC per requirement basis Working Policy * Each exercise support requirement is anticipated to be 5 to 15 working days per event * On-Site, unless otherwise specified with up to 12-hour days * If out of normal hours work is required, this will be requested on a per requirement basis Travel * Any associated travel costs to and from your home location to participate in the activity will be covered by Spektrum Security Clearance * Valid National or NATO Secret personal security clearance We never know what new opportunities might be just over the horizon. The Defensive Cyber Engineering organization is responsible for the Security Data Platform, infrastructure, and tooling that enable Okta’s Detection and Response capabilities. The team also manages enterprise security tools and infrastructure that support XDR, DLP, and SSPM capabilities. THE ROLE We are expanding this team to support Okta’s Public Sector roadmap by hiring a Staff Software Engineer in the DC area. You’ll work closely with Security, Business Technology Engineering, and Product teams to implement and manage security solutions, ensuring our core infrastructure applications protect our workforce, endpoints, and corporate data. To deliver on this vision, you will build data and infrastructure platforms by leveraging your software, data, and security engineering skills. You’ll use automation, policy-as-code, and cloud-native technologies to deliver scalable, resilient, and secure solutions. What you bring: * 8+ years of strong coding and scripting experience, with a focus on building automation and custom tooling for security engineering teams.  * Experience with Python is required; proficiency in other languages (e.g., Bash, PowerShell, Go) is a plus. * Experience developing and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines for onboarding security data into Okta’s security data lake. * Experience working with security teams to integrate log sources and ensure seamless data ingestion. * Ability to build and maintain scalable, fault-tolerant data pipelines to process security event data. * Proven track record of automating security controls and workflows using a cloud-first approach. * Experience with Terraform and other infrastructure-as-code tools to orchestrate security infrastructure. * Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines for security automation and drift management. * Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with technical staff, support teams, executive leadership, and external vendors. * 2+ years of experience building engineering solutions within highly regulated environments such as FedRAMP High, IL4, IL5, and/or IL6 is a plus. * Current or previous Secret, Top Secret (TS), or Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance. What you’ll be doing * Serve as a security subject matter expert (SME) for solution engineering and architecture reviews, preferably in the Detection and Response and/or enterprise security tooling space. * Lead technical efforts to evaluate, design, and implement new enterprise security systems and feature enhancements. * Build, maintain, and enhance custom automation and cloud infrastructure using Terraform or similar tools to support team workflows and enforce security controls. * Develop integrations with APIs, cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure), and security infrastructure to improve detection, response, and remediation. * Write and maintain scripts and automations, with an emphasis on Python-based solutions, to streamline security operations. * Establish monitoring and alerting for security posture, misconfigurations, and threats across endpoints, SaaS, and cloud workloads. * Proactively identify and remediate security gaps; stay updated on emerging threats, solutions, and tooling across the industry.
