As a Financial Planning and Analysis Manager, R&D, you’ll serve as a senior contributor on GitLab’s FP&A team. Reporting to the
Director of FP&A, you’ll provide timely support grounded in facts and data for critical choices. You’ll manage headcount and
vendor spend, coordinate forecasting and annual planning, build financial models, explain performance, and improve the processes

About the team
The FP&A team partners with executive team members across GitLab to provide timely, fact-based, evidence-based planning support.
We support annual planning, own the operating plan and long-term financial model, support internal financial reporting, and
develop financial and analytical tools that help make GitLab predictable. In this role, you’ll be the primary finance partner for
Research and Development, work closely with Product and Engineering leadership, and collaborate with FP&A team members who support
cloud hosting and General and Administrative functions. We operate in GitLab’s all-remote, asynchronous environment and value
clear communication, ownership, mentorship, and the ability to make complex information useful. The Director of FP&A is hands-on
and available to help while giving each team member opportunities to present to leadership and own their work.

AN OVERVIEW OF THIS ROLE As a Senior FP&A Analyst on the Corporate FP&A team, you'll help keep GitLab predictable, well-capitalized, and aligned to its strategy by turning complex financial data into clear, actionable insights for leaders across the company. You'll own critical company-wide planning and forecasting processes, drive revenue and cash flow analysis, support quarterly and annual earnings materials, and maintain the operating and long-term financial models that inform decisions at the executive and Board level. Reporting to the Director of Corporate FP&A, you'll develop financial forecasts and capital structure decisions that accurately reflect business drivers and investor expectations in a fast-moving, all-remote environment, while helping shape how the team uses AI and automation to move faster with better visibility. Your Profile * Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. * Qualified CPA, CA, RA, ACA, ACCA, or equivalent is preferred. * 6–10 years of relevant experience, including several years in a Big Four audit firm. * Strong knowledge of IFRS and financial reporting. * Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills. * Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, and international environment. * Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills. Nice to have: * Experience in FP&A, corporate finance, or commercial finance within a high-growth technology company. * Experience in a deeptech environment (e.g. semiconductors, photonics, quantum technologies, advanced materials, robotics, AI infrastructure, or other R&D-intensive businesses) is highly desirable. * Experience with ERP systems and leading or participating in ERP implementation and finance transformation projects is a plus. * Experience with FP&A and business intelligence tools (e.g. Anaplan, Adaptive Planning, Power BI) is an advantage. As a Senior Manager, FP&A, you will report to the Executive Director, FP&A and play a critical role in linking business activities with financial reporting. You will support finance partnership with leaders in R&D, CMC, and G&A functions, help create financial plans, and promote spending discipline and transparency through insightful analysis and reporting. You will support long-range and annual planning, forecast, close, and management reporting activities, while helping improve the accuracy and efficiency of planning and reporting processes.
