Data and AI are becoming increasingly important in how we build better products, support smarter decisions, and create value across Schibsted Media. We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer who wants to help shape reliable, scalable, and well-governed data products used across our media brands.
In this role, you will work in the intersection of data engineering, analytics engineering, and platform thinking. You will help us build trusted data models, improve how we work with data pipelines, and guide technical direction for a team working closely with stakeholders across Finance, HR, Product, Subscription, and other data & AI teams.
You will join the Data & AI organization in the Data Product Engineering team, where we build data capabilities that help teams across Schibsted Media make better decisions, create trusted data products, and enable future AI use cases.
We are looking for someone who can be both hands-on and guiding. You do not need to be the loudest person in the room, but you should be able to create clarity, make pragmatic technical decisions, and help other engineers grow.
You will play a key role in shaping how we build data as a product. This includes creating data models that are reliable, well-documented, and designed for real use cases, not just pipelines that move data.
As a senior member of the team, you will also help create good engineering practices, mentor more junior engineers, and collaborate closely with adjacent teams working on data platforms and shared tooling.
As part of a newly formed team of Data / Analytics Engineers, you'll have the opportunity to influence how we work, shape our engineering culture, and make a real impact from day one. We're now looking for 2–3 more engineers to join us on the journey.

Why join us?
You enjoy turning messy problems into clear, maintainable solutions. You care about technical quality, but you also understand that good engineering is about tradeoffs, communication, and delivering value.
You are comfortable working in an environment where not everything is fully defined yet. You help create structure, bring others along, and make the team better through your technical judgment and collaboration.
When you apply, we'd love to get to know the real you. We value authentic applications and are much more interested in your own thoughts, experiences, and motivations than polished AI-generated content.
If you want to help build trusted data products that enable better decisions and future AI capabilities across Schibsted Media, we would love to hear from you.

At Pixaera, we’re a passionate team of builders who are dedicated to delivering solutions that empower people. Today, we’re leveraging Ai and gamification to build a vertical platform that is centered around improving the safety readiness of frontline workers in any high risk industry. If you are a doer who thrives in a dynamic, mission-focused environment, join us! WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR? Pixaera is hiring a senior Data Engineer to own and evolve our core data platform — from warehouse design to production pipelines — powering analytics, product intelligence, and personalized learning experiences. You’ll build and operate scalable data systems across a modern stack (Snowflake, DBT, AWS), while partnering closely with backend engineers to ensure data is clean, reliable, and exposed correctly at the source — not patched up along the way. A key focus will be refactoring and strengthening critical data flows to reduce technical debt and improve system integrity. This role is ideal for a senior engineer who combines strong Python/SQL fundamentals with product thinking, and enjoys building robust systems in fast-moving, startup environments. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: * Data platform & pipelines * Own the data warehouse (currently Snowflake-shaped, modern stack), modelling, and transformation layer (dbt) * Refactor and harden the admin API data flows — currently a major source of technical debt * Build and maintain production pipelines on AWS — Python + SQL, with proper observability and testing * Partner with backend engineers to expose clean, reliable data at source rather than retrofitting downstream Bridge to Product & Engineering * Work as a bridge between Engineering and Product to expose the right data for customer outcomes * Contribute to backend feature work where data and product cross over (telemetry, instrumentation, data-aware features) * Sit inside the engineering team — you are an engineer who specialises in data, not a separate analytics function What this role is NOT * Not a dashboard-only role — internal/company dashboards run as scoped contractor projects, separately * Not a pure analytics role — analytics depth is a nice-to-have, not the primary axis WHO ARE YOU? * 5+ years in a data engineering role, ideally including time at a B2B SaaS or product startup * Strong Python and SQL — these are languages, not tools; if either is weak, the rest doesn't hold up * Hands-on experience deploying and operating data pipelines in production on AWS * Experience with a modern warehouse (Snowflake, BigQuery, Databricks, Redshift) — specific tech is not a hard requirement, but depth in at least one is * Hands-on with DBT or equivalent transformation framework * Backend engineering fluency — you can read and contribute to backend code so you can fix data issues at source * Comfortable in a small, fast-moving team where you own outcomes end-to-end HOW DO WE SUPPORT AND BENEFIT OUR EMPLOYEES? * Competitive salary and stock options — everyone shares in what we’re building * 25 days holiday + public holidays * Pension contribution * Fully equipped setup from day one (no waiting for laptops) * Regular company offsites and team socials * A flat, transparent culture with direct access to leadership At Pixaera, we’re committed to building a workplace where everyone feels respected, supported, and empowered to thrive. We believe that diverse perspectives fuel creativity and innovation, which is why we celebrate individuality and foster an environment of inclusion and belonging. We’re proud to be an equal opportunity employer — discrimination of any kind has no place here. No matter your background, identity, or lived experience, you’re welcome at Pixaera.
