The Role
Purpose of the role
Team
This role is part of our Project Management Consultancy which focuses on:
More specifically you will be part of our Commercial Services Team. Your leader will be our Commercial Director.
1. To make construction projects deliver to near perfection
2. To create scalable and repeatable solutions to common problems
3. To develop yourself and everyone around you
1. Own the cost: Manage the project costs through all stage gates, integrating QCRA and risk-adjusted forecasting to provide a "no surprises" financial environment.
2. Own the outcome: Lead pre-construction estimating and post-contract live cost management. This includes managing complex change orders with deep-dive cost analysis to protect the client’s interests.
3. Report and inform: Provide simple actionable reports to stakeholders at all levels that help them deliver their part of the project more efficiently and effectively (Laminar’s existing infrastructure will support this).
4. Make scalable solutions: Develop scalable and repeatable best practices and tools in collaboration with the team so that long-term impact is achieved
5. Develop everyone: Maximise the development of your team personally and professionally and educate our clients to improve as well.
You will be a seasoned Cost / Commercial Manager, with extensive experience working directly with clients, ideally with some stints working for Tier 1 or 2 Contractors as well, to provide the well-rounded experience that is hugely valuable as a consultant. You understand that cost does not live in a vacuum - it is a byproduct of schedule, risk, and scope.
Laminar isn’t the place for you if any of the following is true:

Frequently Asked Questions
What kinds of projects would I be working on?
It’s common for people to be exposed to several projects in their first year with us. You’ll work on some of the most complex and interesting environments in the world. We’ve delivered over 100 data centres internationally, many of them fast-tracked and multi-package. Our teams have supported flagship infrastructure programmes like HS2 through integrated planning and digital delivery, contributed to over $30bn in power generation and transmission projects, and played a key role in the development of high-containment labs and R&D campuses for some of the world’s most advanced industrial and life sciences clients. You might find yourself working in sectors such as data centres, infrastructure (including defense, rail, and highways), high tech (such as advanced manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, and semiconductors), or complex building projects. These aren’t hands-off assignments. They’re dynamic, hands-on environments designed for people who want to be challenged. We bring back the lessons from every project to help our team grow and deliver the highest levels of value. (Check out our case stories.)
Who are our clients?
Major owners/operators and main contractors with project values between £1m and £1bn+ globally.
Where would I be working?
One week you might be working from home. The next, you might travel to the site to meet the construction teams and help organise them. Maybe you’ll pop into our London office for a workshop or a beer. Maybe you’ll fly out to exotic (and sometimes not!) locations in Europe or the Middle East to visit clients. It really depends on what you want to get involved in and what fits with your life.
How does what I do connect with the long-term impact on the construction industry?
You’re tasked with understanding and solving common problems. We don’t want to reinvent the wheel every time, so you’ll be responsible for documenting new solutions and evolving ones we’ve developed. This goes into our knowledge repository, which we’re going to open source to the industry.
The knowledge you capture will be used by us to build new products. You’ll constantly test those products in the field, so we can rapidly iterate and improve them for anyone in the industry to use.

A couple of technical and personal assessments follow to understand your capability based on our own development matrix.

Are you a passionate Finance Consultant with experience in Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations? Then we offer you the opportunity for a unique position with exciting projects, great colleagues, excellent facilities, and the chance to develop your skills while contributing to our continued success at Cepheo. At Cepheo, we take pride in having many talented employees across the Nordics who are dedicated to working with the entire Microsoft Dynamics platform. We’re excited to say that, due to new international projects, we now have room for more talented colleagues to join our team. The Finance & Operations team covers a wide range of industries, including manufacturing, construction, utilities and energy, wholesale, and retail. For this position, your primary focus will be on our manufacturing clients. Therefore, knowledge of this segment is an advantage - but not a requirement - as your expertise in financial processes within D365FO is what truly matters. About Cepheo Cepheo empowers businesses to adapt and succeed in a changing world. With locations across the Nordics and decades of experience in implementing and developing industry-specific solutions based on the Microsoft platform, we help our customers use technology and data to make more informed decisions, optimize daily operations, and bring out the best in their people. In Denmark, Cepheo has offices across the country, and you can choose the location that suits you best. We have offices in Copenhagen, Aarhus, Aalborg, Thisted, and Kolding, with a total of 110 employees fully focused on Microsoft Dynamics solutions. The largest business area in Denmark - and across the entire group - is Finance & Operations. In addition to close collaboration with our sister companies in Norway and Sweden, we also work closely with Cepheo Poland, our nearshore center with around 100 employees. After two years of establishing Cepheo as a strong new brand in the Dynamics market, we are now ready to accelerate our growth. The foundation is in place with new and ongoing large international projects. As a consultant at Cepheo, you are allocated 10% of your time for skills development - and we can ensure you that we walk the talk. We can document that we meet this goal, and we view education as an investment that makes us stronger - we do not see it as a cost. About the position As a Functional Solution Architect / Senior Consultant, you will be part of a strong team focused on ERP processes, working across the entire Dynamics platform - especially F&O, but also the Power Platform. We value learning from each other and taking shared responsibility. We believe this broad collaboration is essential for continuous professional development, which is why Cepheo dedicates time and resources to training and knowledge sharing. You’ll join a team of skilled and highly experienced D365FO consultants, ensuring high-level sparring. You’ll also experience a fast pace environment, as you’ll be involved in new projects from the early stages, helping to set the scene. You’ll work closely with Cepheo’s other F&O teams (Project Management, Service Delivery Managers, Developers - both Danish and Polish colleagues - and infrastructure technicians). As an architect within the finance area, you’ll carry significant responsibility in the project. You’ll challenge the customer on process optimization within your area of expertise and coordinate with colleagues handling other workstreams to ensure cohesion. We know that all issues in the various business areas eventually impact finance, so you’ll play a key role in mitigating potential challenges. Familiarity (not deep expertise) with other process areas such as procurement, sales, inventory, and production is essential for success in the role. You’ll be introduced to Cepheo’s implementation model, which is based on a well-documented process framework. You’ll find that Cepheo is at the forefront of process-oriented approaches, and your tasks will reflect that. You’ll also have the opportunity to join our Nordic Capability Group for Finance & Operations, giving you a network with colleagues in Scandinavia and Poland, where you can share knowledge and learn from others that works in the same field as you. Who are you? We expect that you have several years of experience as a consultant within D365FO solutions, preferably with experience in financial solutions for manufacturing clients. Additionally, we expect you to have experience with relevant third-party financial solutions such as AMC Banking, SK Global, and Exflow. Experience with international projects is also an advantage. At Cepheo, you’ll take ownership of how projects are delivered. You’ll work closely with customers and typically be involved from the analysis phase through implementation and ongoing support and development. We value quality and expect you to be a strong communicator in both Danish and English. It’s also a plus if you are naturally proactive, curious, structured, and possess strong business acumen. We’re looking for a colleague with several of the following competencies: * Experienced D365FO consultant within the finance domain * Industry knowledge in the manufacturing domain * Solid experience within Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations * Understanding of functionality related to sales, purchasing, logistics, etc., enabling you to advise on the connection between the value chain and the finance department, including reconciliation with inventory, costing, etc. * Familiarity with finance-related add-on solutions * Strong experience in designing standard solutions * A customer oriented mindset and a naturally service-minded approach * Comfortable working independently as well as part of a strong team * A strong drive and eagerness to learn and be challenged * Strong analytical and communication skills Interested? If you have any questions about the position or would like to know more, feel free to contact us. You can reach out to our Director of F&O, Uffe Pallesen, through uffe.pallesen@cepheo.com or phone 52 18 53 35. We are conducting interviews on an ongoing basis and are looking to hire a permanent employee. We look forward to hearing from you.
