What do we do?Technical Training is part of the Competence Development (CD) department at Volvo Trucks. CD is responsible for building world class competence across our dealer network by delivering innovative, efficient and people-centric training that strengthens skills, enhances knowledge and supports exceptional customer experiences.
Within Competence Development, Technical Training is one of several key training domains. In addition to technical training for workshop technicians, CD also delivers commercial, sales, onboarding and role-based training to support customer facing employees across the dealer network. Together, these areas ensure a holistic and consistent competence development approach.
Our mission in CD is to empower both workshop technicians and customer facing roles through modern learning solutions. This includes instructor-led training, digital learning tools, new ways of learning, coaching approaches and initiatives that support attracting, developing and retaining diverse talent in the dealer network.
Technical Training focuses on developing and delivering training solutions for workshop technicians, with strong collaboration across CD and with our global training network. We work closely with a global network of trainers through a train the trainer concept, enabling consistent, high quality training delivery while allowing local adaptation. This network is also actively involved in our training development projects.
Many technicians in the dealer network work with both Volvo Trucks and Renault Trucks, which is why we cooperate closely with the Technical Training team at Renault Trucks in Lyon.

Through Competence Development, we contribute to long term capability building, including initiatives such as dealer onboarding, leadership support during change, and the evolution of Volvo VISTA as an integrated part of daily learning and continuous development — more than a competition, but a way to build competence over time.
What will you do?
Develop instructor-led training courses and online learning solutions for a global audience
Translate complex technical content into clear, structured and engaging learning material
Act as a trainer in a train-the-trainer setup, handing over training solutions to market companies and supporting local trainers
Deliver training mainly at the Training Centre in Gothenburg, with opportunities to teach at other Volvo locations around the world
Work closely with colleagues in Technical Training, technical specialists across the organization, and the global trainer network
You will be an important contributor to the continuous improvement of how we develop and deliver technical training, combining structure, creativity and collaboration.
QualificationsWe believe great candidates can come from different backgrounds. To succeed in this role, you have:
A university degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience
Proven experience working with trucks, truck systems and technical training development
Solid expertise in electrical systems, ideally gained through hands-on work with Volvo´s Truck electrical architecture
Interest in communication, learning and knowledge sharing
Experience in structuring and simplifying technical information from multiple sources
Strong presentation skills in English
Strong technical writing skills in English
Confidence in using Office 365 applications
A collaborative, open and solution oriented mindset
Experience from workshop or service operations
Previous exposure to training, coaching or mentoring
A truck driver license
The position is based in Gothenburg. Occasional travel is part of the role.
