Position Overview
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented HR Generalist / Payroll Specialist to join our team in the Hamptons. This
role is responsible for overseeing payroll administration while supporting a wide range of human resources functions, including
benefits administration.
The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of payroll processes, employment laws, and HR best practices, along with the
ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Fluency in Spanish (written and verbal) is required to
effectively support a diverse workforce.

Your Mission We are looking for a People Operations Specialist to join the People Operations team at BlaBlaCar. As a People Ops Specialist, you will manage the day-to-end employee lifecycle for Blablacar’s employees based in France. As part of a team, you will ensure full legal compliance in France, while providing prompt, effective support for all employee inquiries. By maintaining our HRIS and formalizing contractual elements, you will act as a key guardian of our data integrity and internal policies. This role is essential in streamlining our onboarding journey and optimizing HR processes to support our team. Your Responsibilities • Lead the execution of HR processes (Onboarding → Offboarding), ensuring a positive experience while providing clear visibility to relevant stakeholders • Formalize all contractual elements (contracts, amendments, certificates) and manage immigration/work permit renewals • Identify opportunities to streamline workflows and lead People Ops projects aimed at enhancing efficiency • Explore and implement AI-driven solutions to automate repetitive administrative tasks (e.g., automated document generation, AI-powered ticketing sorting, or smart data auditing) to free up time for high-value advisory • Manage employee inquiries (JIRA), providing prompt, effective support on HR policies • Provide expert recommendations for handling complex situations (performance, conflict, legal risk). • Document specific requests to ensure every situation is tracked and treated fairly, building a consistent "Case Law" for the organization • Work closely with the POPS team including our Payroll Specialist (upstream data flows), HRBPs, Social Expert, Recruiters, and L&D to ensure a cohesive employee experience. • Actively participate in team meetings, sharing insights and contributing to a supportive, high-performance team environment Your Qualifications • +4 years of experience in a People Operations, HR Coordinator, or HR Generalist role, ideally within a fast-paced environment in France • Proficiency with HRIS platforms (e.g., BambooHR, Workday…), Google Workspace and strong project management skills • Good knowledge of French social legislation (SYNTEC would be a plus) • Great communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to clearly articulate HR policies and respond to employee inquiries with empathy and professionalism • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively • Problem-solving aptitude, curiosity and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues. • Full working proficiency in English and French What we have to offer • Hybrid status for this role : 2-3 days at the Office • 4 additional weeks on top of legal maternity/paternity leaves • 50% healthcare coverage (Alan) • Financial support for home office equipment • Minimum 25 days holiday per year • Local meal plan policy (Swile card) • 50% transportation paid (Forfait Mobilité Durable) • Free unlimited carpooling & bus rides • Personal growth via trainings, mentorship, and internal mobility programs • Employee Stock ownership plan • Regular team building events • 1 day off per year to test our product • 1 day per year for social engagements with non-profits Interested in joining the ride? • a 45-min video-call with your Talent Acquisition Manager to get to know you, understand your career expectations and answer your questions • a 45-min interview with your future manager Margaux Swanda, People Operations Manager, to discuss your interest in the role and your career expectations • a fully remote exercise to evaluate your technical skills • a 60-min interview with Margaux and Marie-Christine People Operations Specialist, to review the business case and to check team-fit Our hiring process lasts on average 25-30 days, offers usually come within 48 hours.

The Role We’re looking for a proactive People Operations Specialist to manage HR processes and support our global People team. Based in Bucharest, you will oversee the full employee lifecycle, provide HR administration, and support payroll for Bucharest.
