About Better Planner Tribe: Better Planner is the newest product in the Bettermile suite, built to redefine how logistics operations plan, predict, and execute. Depot mornings determine cost, productivity, and delivery performance for the entire day. Better Planner uses AI powered planning models and delivery patterns to design balanced routes, define clear loading zones, and prepare dispatch teams before operations begin. With structured loading logic and parcels pre assigned to drivers, sorting is faster, loading is smoother, and drivers spend more time delivering instead of waiting in the depot. YOU WILL BE TAKING CARE OF * Architect, improve, and implement data pipelines for BetterPlanner while reaching for durable execution * Supply the ML models with correct, timely and clean data * Keep track and monitor pipelines to identify quality issues * Support software developers and data analysts with new data points or expansion to new countries * Work together with the other data engineers and analysts from other teams to improve the shared data platform * Coordinate and devise action plans to support the growth of the company as a whole * Provide technical mentorship of the whole tribe in terms of latest technologies, best practices YOU CHECK THESE BOXES * Highly skilled in Python and SQL, with proven experience working with Snowflake * Experienced with big data manipulation and ingestion tools like dbt, Fivetran, or similar technologies * Know your way around job orchestrators, with a strong preference for Dagster. * You’re naturally curious, highly adaptable, and thrive on tackling complex problem-solving challenges * You excel at stakeholder management, communication, and collaboration, meaning you love working in a team environment and easily translate complex technical concepts for non-technical business partners * Bring a customer-centric mindset, always designing and building data solutions with the ultimate end-user in mind * Fluent in the English language written and spoken, German is not required IT IS AWESOME IF YOU ALSO HAVE * Solid knowledge of AWS, especially services like RDS, S3, Firehose, and queue-based ingestion systems like SQS or event buses * Experience handling and visualizing geospatial data effectively * Some exposure to MLOps, specifically hosting, inference, and running training jobs for machine learning models TAKE YOUR CHANCE Be a part of shaping a fast-growing industry and make an impact from day one. About the Platform Team Every product team's ability to move fast depends on what's running underneath it. The Platform team builds that foundation for Bettermile, from shared infrastructure and authentication to observability, alerting, and developer tooling, so product teams can build, deploy, operate, and secure their products with confidence. The Platform Team's mission is to empower product teams by minimizing their cognitive load, so they can move faster and deliver more business value to our customers. You will be joining a highly impactful role where you will balance hands-on technical execution (approx. 60%) with strategic stakeholder engagement and mentorship (approx. 40%). Our current tech stack: AWS(CDK, EC2, ECS, S3, EventBridge, SQS, Location Services, API Gateway), Pulumi, Kotlin, New Relic, Snowflake, PagerDuty, GitHub, GitHub Actions, GitHub Copilot and Claude Code. YOU WILL BE TAKING CARE OF * Driving the evolution and stabilization of our central authentication systems * Taking ownership of our infrastructure's observability, scalability, security, and cost-efficiency, in close collaboration with teams and stakeholders * Implementing infrastructure-as-code across our ecosystems * Providing Mentorship for platform senior engineers, guiding their professional growth, and fostering strong cross-team collaboration * Implementing the company vision by championing DevOps culture, and establishing platform engineering best practices across the organization * No echo chambers here!
