WHAT ARE THE MAIN PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES IN THIS ROLE? We’re hiring a (Senior) Operations & AI Lead to bring structure, scale, and AI-driven leverage to how AVOW runs. This is a builder’s role: you’ll shape how the company works day-to-day and how we use AI to do more with less. You’ll drive operational excellence across the business, process, tooling, cross-functional coordination and you’ll lead AVOW’s AI implementation from concept to deployed reality. You’ll report directly to the COO and work closely with the wider Senior Leadership team. WHAT YOU’LL OWN Operations * Drive operational efficiency across the company, identify bottlenecks, redesign processes, and help build the operating system that lets AVOW scale without proportional headcount growth. * Partner with C-level peers to align cross-functional priorities and unblock operational dependencies. * Partner with the Product team on tool and platform rollouts, serving as the operational bridge between what's built and how it gets embedded into team workflows * Own the post-launch phase of any tool or process implementation: monitor adoption, collect feedback, troubleshoot friction, and iterate — success is measured by actual usage, not deployment * Scope to take on people leadership as the operations function grows. AI Strategy & Implementation * Shape and execute AVOW’s AI strategy, where we use it, where we deliberately don’t, and what we expect from it commercially and operationally. * Partner closely with our Data Protection Officer to develop and maintain AI policy and ensure compliance with GDPR, the EU AI Act, and internal data governance standards. * Design, build, and govern internal AI workflows that automate manual processes across the company. * Set the standards for quality, oversight, and human-in-the-loop review of AI-driven outputs. * Upskill the organization through workshops, playbooks, and reusable templates that make AI usable for non-technical colleagues. WHAT ARE THE STRENGTHS, TRANSFERABLE SKILLS, AND BEHAVIORS THAT DRIVE SUCCESS IN THIS ROLE? * 5+ years of experience in operations, business operations, project management, or a comparable role, ideally in a tech or digital company. * A demonstrated track record of designing and implementing AI or automation initiatives that delivered measurable business impact (cost, time, or quality). * Comfortable operating cross-functionally with C-level peers in an international, fast-moving environment. * Hands-on enough to build the first version yourself; strategic enough to design the next ten. * A sharp commercial instinct, you measure success in business outcomes, not output volume. TECH FAMILIARITY You don’t need to be an engineer, but you should be comfortable with the modern AI and automation stack: LLMs (Claude, Gemini), workflow orchestration (n8n, Make), and lightweight scripting (JavaScript, JSON). VS Code or a similar IDE is part of your daily toolkit. Two notes before you apply: 1. We know that individuals who identify as women, trans, or non-binary tend to hesitate to apply for a role unless they meet almost all the requirements. If that resonates with you, we want to be clear: we're more interested in your potential than your ability to tick every box. Apply anyway. 2. On compensation — at AVOW, pay is structured around a clear grade and level framework, with decisions based on objective criteria: your experience, qualifications, scope of responsibility, and role-specific requirements. We're transparent about how we make these decisions and will be discussing the details from our very first engagement. WHAT DOES OUR HIRING PROCESS LOOK LIKE? 1. Intro call: A casual chat with our TA team to learn more about you and give you a real feel for who we are and what we're building. 2. Deep dive: A more in-depth conversation with your future hiring manager. Expect an honest discussion about the role, the team, and what success looks like. 3. Problem-solving + presentation: Time to show your thinking. You'll work through a real challenge and share your approach with the team. 4. Meet the team: An informal coffee chat with a potential future colleague. No agenda — just a chance to get a feel for the people you'd be working with. WHAT DO WE OFFER? * Learning & Development opportunities * Sabbatical policy * Subsidies for public transportation, sports, and German courses * Bike leasing program * Healthy (also not so healthy) snacks in the office every day * Experienced, innovative, diverse team We are looking forward to getting your application!
WHO WE ARE - OUR MISSION terralayr addresses the massive deficit in global energy storage. The over-indexing of electricity generation from renewable energy sources leads to large volatility on the energy grid. The main problem is that wind and solar farms are fluctuating and, by definition, unsteady—there is no sun at night, and it is not always windy. This increases the need for flexibility in the form of battery storage systems to balance the grid in times when supply and demand do not match. By buying and developing grid-scale storage assets and virtually aggregating them across a layer, we are creating the world's first energy cloud. Imagine AWS for energy. Through the flexibility we secure, we can market flexibility-as-a-service and hedging products/power insurance to utilities, SMEs, and industrial players and create virtual storage capacity for PV and wind farms. WHAT WE ARE HIRING FOR - YOUR ROLE As part of our Project Delivery team, you will be responsible for ensuring the successful execution of our projects from Ready to Build to Commercial Operation, with smooth delivery to Asset Management. Your experience in project engineering in the environment of construction within the renewable energy sector will allow the BESS projects we build to meet the highest quality standards. Your technical expertise allows you to challenge the "usual practice" and to proactively find disruptive approaches to optimize project processes, execution timelines and costs. You will join our team at an early stage of the company life, with the opportunity to participate in shaping our BESS fleet expansion strategy. ABOUT PARLOA Parloa’s mission is to make every customer conversation feel effortless for both customers and the companies serving them. As agentic AI accelerates, Parloans are shaping the foundation of a new era in customer experience, one where customer support is no longer transactions, but meaningful exchanges. It is not just a vision; Parloa has powered over ONE BILLION interactions between global enterprise brands and their customers, with companies like Booking.com, HealthEquity, Allianz, SAP, BarmeniaGothaer, and TUI already deploying Parloa at scale. ABOUT THE ROLE: As Senior Data Engineer – Internal Platform, you will build and own the data infrastructure that powers Parloa's internal AI transformation. Today, business-critical data lives across dozens of disconnected tools with no unified way to access it — you'll change that by creating a single, self-serve access layer that gives AI agents and teams the business context they need to operate. Working closely with the AI Transformation Team and stakeholders across the non-engineering organization, you'll also define the KPIs and dashboards leadership uses to track AI adoption and impact. AREAS OF OWNERSHIP: * Data Platform Infrastructure: Own the Internal-facing Databricks workspace end-to-end: configuration, compute, access controls, and cost management. * Ingestion Pipelines: Build and maintain Airbyte pipelines that pull data from Salesforce, Gong, HRIS, finance systems, and other tools on automated schedules. * Data Modeling & Transformation: Implement the architecture that turns raw data into clean, trusted, analysis-ready datasets. * AI Data Enablement: Partner with the AI Transformation Team to ensure AI agents and LLM workflows get the right data in the right format. * AI Adoption Measurement: Define and build the KPIs and dashboards that track AI usage, proficiency, and business impact across the company. * Data Governance & Compliance: Own data classification, access policies, GDPR/DPA compliance, and pipeline monitoring. WHO YOU ARE: * Experience designing data layers that power AI/LLM-based applications and agentic workflows. * Proficiency in Python, SQL, ETL/ELT tools, and MLOps. * Knowledge of dimensional modeling and modern data warehouse technologies. * Ability to comprehend and execute on complex requirements and resolve performance issues. * Ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-engineering audiences, making data architecture decisions and trade-offs understandable for leadership and cross-functional stakeholders. * Passion for staying updated and driving innovation in data engineering. * Ability to define and instrument Al adoption KPls: usage tracking, proficiency distribution, and business impact metrics. * Understanding of how Al tools consume data – context windows, retrieval patterns, embedding pipelines – and how to optimise data access for. OUR RECRUITING PROCESS: Talent Acquisition → Hiring Manager → Technical Interview(s) → Bar Raiser WHY PARLOA? We’re at the beginning of a new era in customer experience, one where AI doesn’t just respond, but understands, reasons, and takes action. We’re building agentic AI that enterprises trust with their most important customer moments: complex questions, high volumes, real stakes. When millions of people reach out to a brand, those interactions aren’t just support tickets; they’re defining experiences. We’re here to raise the standard: making every conversation seamless, intelligent, and genuinely helpful. If you care about shaping how businesses and customers connect at scale and want your work to matter in real, everyday moments, this is where you do it. At Parloa, ownership isn’t a buzzword; it means being accountable for outcomes, not just tasks. We operate in a category that’s evolving fast, where the bar is high, and the problems are complex. We hire people who think in solutions, communicate with clarity, and follow through. People who are comfortable making decisions, taking responsibility, and raising the standard for themselves and those around them. We’ve grown beyond the earliest startup phase, but we’ve kept the intensity: fast execution, direct feedback, and a strong expectation to contribute meaningfully from day one. Backed by leading global investors like General Catalyst, EQT Ventures, and Altimeter Capital, we’re scaling with a clear ambition: to become the global category leader in enterprise-grade conversational AI. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Parloa is committed to upholding the highest data protection standards for our clients' and employees' data.
