We’re Cortea, a Berlin-based startup rebuilding how audits are done.
Audits are still driven by spreadsheets, checklists, and manual reviews in one of the most regulated, high-stakes areas of
business. We use AI to automate audits end to end, so highly educated auditors no longer spend 60+ hour weeks on manual work and
can focus on judgment, trust, and choices that matter.
With €15m+ in funding, a live product, and paying customers across Europe, we’re at a stage where your choices will directly shape
Cortea’s future, and how audits are done.
This isn't an administrative or "assistant" role. As Chief of Staff, you are a core member of the leadership orbit. You will work
directly with Valentin (Co-Founder) to translate high-level vision into operational reality.
You will sit at the intersection of Growth, Strategy, Finance, and Operations. Your mission is to tackle the most complex,
ambiguous challenges that don’t yet have a home, whether that’s architecting our international expansion, refining our AI-driven
unit economics, or managing the machinery of a Series B fundraise.
This role is a springboard. You will gain a "CEO-level" view of building a category-defining AI company.

ABOUT US We’re Cortea, a Berlin-based startup rebuilding how audits are done. Audits are still driven by spreadsheets, checklists, and manual reviews in one of the most regulated, high-stakes areas of business. We use AI to automate audits end to end, so highly educated auditors no longer spend 60+ hour weeks on manual work and can focus on judgment, trust, and choices that matter. With €15m+ in funding, a live product, and paying customers across Europe, we’re at a stage where your choices will directly shape Cortea’s future, and how audits are done. THE ROLE This isn't an administrative or "assistant" role. As Chief of Staff, you are a core member of the leadership orbit. You will work directly with Valentin (Co-Founder) to translate high-level vision into operational reality. You will sit at the intersection of Growth, Strategy, Finance, and Operations. Your mission is to tackle the most complex, ambiguous challenges that don’t yet have a home, whether that’s architecting our international expansion, refining our AI-driven unit economics, or managing the machinery of a Series B fundraise. This role is a springboard. You will gain a "CEO-level" view of building a category-defining AI company. WHAT YOU’LL DO * Strategic Initiatives: Lead high-impact projects from conception to completion (e.g., designing an AI-era pricing model, spearheading entry into new European markets, or optimizing the sales-to-onboarding funnel). * Fundraising & IR: Act as the primary engine behind investor relations and future funding rounds, preparing the narratives and data rooms that will fuel Cortea’s growth. * Scaling the AI-Native Operating System: Build the repeatable processes, meeting cadences, and communication loops — supercharged with AI agents and automation — that allow Cortea to scale toward €100m+ ARR without losing speed. You'll treat internal workflows as products, deploying AI wherever it removes friction. * Founder Force Multiplier: Act as a proxy for the founders in internal and external meetings, ensuring decisions are made and projects stay on track even when the founders aren't in the room. WHO YOU ARE * 4+ years of experience in high-velocity environments (Top-tier Strategy Consulting, Investment Banking, or a high-growth VC-backed startup). * Strategic Operator: You can think at 30,000 feet about market positioning, but you have the grit to dive into a spreadsheet or a legal contract to get a deal over the line. * Financial Fluency: You have a deep understanding of P&L management, financial modeling, and SaaS metrics. * Exceptional Communicator: You can distill complex AI concepts and financial data into clear, persuasive narratives for investors and the team. * High Agency: You don’t wait for a playbook; you write it. You are comfortable with the ambiguity of a "zero-to-one" environment. * Language: Native or professional fluency in both English and German (C1+) is essential for this Berlin-based role. HOW WE WORK * Founder mindset: Everyone acts like a founder. You’re encouraged to take on any topic you believe is worth improving, with team and founder support. * Thoughtful decision-making: Collaborative problem solving, concise written thinking, and deep in-person discussions to reach the best result. * Speed over perfection: We value progress and learning, preferring strong 80/20 solutions over perfection. * Feedback & learning: We give and ask for feedback weekly. Not monthly. WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE * In 3 months: You have worked through our ops, deployed workflow automations across the company, and offloaded 20% of the founders' highest-priority tasks. * In 6 months: You have led at least one major cross-functional launch (e.g., a new country or a major pricing pivot) and are the go-to person for our lead investors. * In 12 months: You have helped institutionalize the "Cortea Way," creating a scalable operational foundation that supports our next major funding milestone. WHAT WE OFFER * Impact: A seat at the table during the most critical growth phase of a well-funded AI startup. * Growth: Mentorship from experienced founders and close collaboration across the company * Compensation: Competitive salary + meaningful equity. * Perks: Learning budget, team lunches, off-sites, flexible vacation, and a supportive in-office setup in central Berlin INTERVIEW PROCESS * Intro call with Liza (Founders Associate) * Strategy & finance interview, real-world scenario with Valentin (Co-Founder) * Culture interview, Values and Collaboration Fit with Philipp (Co-Founder) * On-site day (Berlin): meet the team and work through a real, current problem We’re an equal‑opportunity team and strongly encourage women and underrepresented candidates to apply.
Are you hungry to get your hands dirty and gain real startup experience? At doinstruct, you'll sit next to doinstruct's founders and the Chief of Staff for 3-6 months, not shadow from the sidelines. You decide which workflows are worth automating, build them yourself, and ship. Every project you take on has to clear one bar: a 3-5x return in hours saved, revenue generated, or decisions unblocked. If it doesn't clear that bar, we don't build it. Quick Facts: 🗓️ Start date: Flexible ⏳ Duration: 3-6 months 📍 Location: Prenzlauer Berg near Senefelder Platz (U2), Berlin. In-office, at least 4 days a week. 🧑🚀 Reports to: Founders Charlotte and Mona 💼 Level: Internship, generalist with builder DNA 🛠️ WHAT YOU'LL DO * Work directly with leadership on cross-functional initiatives across GTM, Product, and Ops. * Find the highest-leverage workflows in the company, redesign them around Claude agents, MCPs, and Skills, ship them, measure the lift. * Build the automations yourself, in Claude Code, GitHub, n8n or Zapier, and directly inside HubSpot and Notion. * Own projects end to end: brief, plan, execute, retro. 🤖 HOW WE WORK * Pick your Claude tool by what the problem needs: Cowork for anything multi-step and messy, Code when something has to run, Sonnet or Opus for the genuinely hard stuff, Haiku for volume. * Anything you'd do twice gets checked into GitHub as a skill or an agent, so it's still there after you move on. * "Claude said so" doesn't fly here. "Claude said so, here's how I checked" does. * You don't need a CS degree. You do need to be comfortable opening a terminal and figuring it out. 📈 WHERE THIS CAN LEAD A strong internship is the fastest path into a full-time Founder's Associate or functional role at doinstruct. Not guaranteed, but real. 🧭 WHO YOU ARE * Top 5% of your peers, provable through founding experience, a leadership track record, grades (3rd semester+, 1.8+ GPA), or an unusual builder résumé. * 2+ internships at a top startup, consultancy, VC/PE, or investment bank, or equivalent founding experience. * AI-native, not AI-curious. You already use Claude, Cursor, or similar day to day, and you've shipped at least one prototype or automation, or you're ready to ship your first one in week 1. * You measure impact in hours saved and revenue generated, not slides produced. * Real empathy for blue-collar and frontline work. Time in food, manufacturing, construction, or logistics is a plus, not a requirement. * Fluent in German and English. 🎁 WHAT WE OFFER * Direct impact: your work reaches thousands of frontline workers, and shows up in company metrics within your first weeks. * Full ownership from day one on projects that would normally sit with someone years more senior. * Competitive intern compensation: this isn't an unpaid internship, we expect a lot and pay accordingly. * The AI tooling budget you'd expect: Claude Max, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, n8n or Zapier. * Backed by over €25M in Seed & Series A funding from HV Capital, Creandum, HTGF, and D11Z, so the runway matches the ambition. ____ At doinstruct, you can make full use of your skills and play an active role in the further development of our start-up. And yes, we attach great importance to a positive working atmosphere, maximum transparency, communication at eye level, and support every step of your personal and professional development. Even if you don't tick all of the boxes, but you are motivated and want to work with us, you are very welcome to apply. We embrace diversity and hire people based on their ability to perform a job. People of any race, gender, gender expression, sexual orientation, religion, age, disability, political opinion, or marital status are welcome at doinstruct. _ For questions or remarks please reach out to our Talent Acquisition Manager, Leonard, at leonard.mielke@doinstruct.com.
You'll sit next to doinstruct's founders, and you decide which workflows move to Claude agents, what ships to production, and what gets killed. Every project you take on has to clear one bar: a 3-5x return in hours saved, revenue generated, or headcount avoided. If it doesn't clear that bar, we don't build it. This is full-time, in-office in Prenzlauer Berg at least 4 days a week, starting as soon as you can move. 🛠️ What you'll do * Work directly with Charlotte and Mona on cross-functional initiatives across GTM, Product, and Ops. * Find the highest-leverage workflows in the company, redesign them around Claude agents, MCPs, and Skills, ship them, and measure the lift. * Build the automations yourself, in Claude Code, GitHub, n8n or Zapier, and directly inside HubSpot and Planhat. * Own launches end-to-end: brief, plan, execute, retro. Which one depends on what you're pulled toward and what the company needs when we get there. 🧭 Who you are * 1-2 years of operator experience, including internships, at a top startup, consultancy, VC/PE, or investment bank. Extra credit if you've been a Founder's Associate, Chief of Staff, GTM engineer, or founded something yourself. * Top 5% of your peers, provable through founding experience, a leadership track record, grades, or an unusual builder résumé. * AI-native, not AI-curious. You already run Claude, Cursor, and n8n day to day, and you've shipped at least one automation that's still running in production. * You measure your own impact in hours saved and revenue generated, not in slides produced or meetings held. * You'd rather write a one-page memo than book a meeting to explain it. * Real empathy for blue-collar and frontline work. Time in food, manufacturing, construction, or logistics is a strong plus, not a requirement. * Fluent in German and English. Berlin-based or ready to relocate within 4-6 weeks. 🎁 What we offer * Direct impact: your work reaches thousands of frontline workers and shows up in company metrics inside your first quarter. * Full autonomy from day one on projects that would normally sit with someone five years more senior. * The AI tooling budget you'd expect from a company that means it: Claude Max, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, n8n or Zapier, and no cap on token spend. * Great salary, a Belonio card for meals and mobility, Wellpass or Urban Sports Club, a language-learning budget. * Backed by over €25M in Seed & Series A funding from HV Capital, Creandum, HTGF, and D11Z, so the runway matches the ambition. ____ At doinstruct, you can make full use of your skills and play an active role in the further development of our start-up.
