Spread across Germany, Spain and the UK, the team at Taxfix Group with its brands Taxfix, Steuerbot and TaxScouts, is a
compassionate group of solution-finders. We speak our minds openly, and with over 400 professionals, including tax experts,

refunds for its customers since its founding in 2016.
AI is shifting how the best products get built. The handoffs between product, design, and engineering are slowing us down. The
companies moving fastest are doing it with people who own the full loop, from the user problem to the shipped feature, without
losing the thread.
At Taxfix, we’re rebuilding our R&D organization around this idea. We call these people builders.
A Builder has a primary craft, one they’re genuinely excellent at, but they don’t stop there. They stretch across product, design,
and engineering as the situation demands, using AI to cover the gaps. They’re accountable to outcomes, not job descriptions.
Taxfix has put €5 billion back into our customers’ pockets and we aren’t stopping there. We operate in Germany, Spain, and the UK,
and we’re in the middle of a genuine AI transformation in how we build and how we’re organized.

OUR STORY: Every year millions of people are either filing their taxes in fear or giving up on their tax refund altogether. We're working on fixing that. Our intuitive app enables anyone, regardless of education or background, to file their taxes with newfound confidence. Spread across Germany, Spain and the UK, the team at Taxfix Group with its brands Taxfix, Steuerbot and TaxScouts, is a compassionate group of solution-finders. We speak our minds openly, and with over 400 professionals, including tax experts, developers, and IT security experts, we're rich in ideas and voices. The group has facilitated more than 3.5 billion euros in tax refunds for its customers since its founding in 2016. YOUR OPPORTUNITY: Taxfix is reorganizing into a business unit model where each BU owns a customer segment and its P&L. It's a meaningful structural bet. It only works if the platform underneath it can keep up. The teams that power user management, payments, operational tooling, tax infrastructure, data extraction, and global bookkeeping aren't supporting one product anymore. They're the shared foundation for every BU in the company. The risk isn't that platform teams fail to build things. It's that they build the wrong things, become bottlenecks, or let service debt slow down the BUs who depend on them. The inner source model is already in place. Your job is to make it work at scale, with multiple BUs pulling on the same platform simultaneously, knowing the organization will route around you the moment you stop adding value. Platform teams at Taxfix will need to increasingly surface capabilities through MCPs, APIs, and SDKs. This is an AI-native organization and the platform needs to be built like one. Not just for the products running today, but for the builders and agents running on top of it tomorrow. You'll report directly to the Chief Product Officer and lead multiple group owners across the full platform area. YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DECISIONS: * Own the platform product strategy. Set direction for all platform teams including but not limited to user management, payments, operational tooling, tax infrastructure, data extraction, and bookkeeping. Make trade-offs visible and hold the line on what gets built vs. what BUs own themselves. * Run the inner source model efficiently. The model exists. Your job is to make it work at scale. Define how BUs contribute, when platform teams lead vs. enable, and how to keep velocity high without becoming a bottleneck or a free-for-all. * Lead service ownership across the platform. Work with engineering to enforce service ownership standards so BU AI builder teams can move fast, without carrying maintenance work that should never have been theirs. * Coordinate across business units. This is one of the most coordination-intensive roles in the organisation. Multiple BUs have simultaneous, sometimes competing demands on the same platform. You absorb that complexity, resolve conflicts, and keep the platform teams focused without creating queues. * Allocate capacity to impact. Actively manage portfolio and team sizing across multiple group owners. Know when a team is over-invested relative to BU demand and when a platform gap is costing BUs real velocity. Make the reallocation calls. * Build for AI-native infrastructure. Platform teams increasingly surface capabilities through MCP APIs and SDKs. You understand this architecture, have a clear POV on where it changes platform economics, and ensure the platform is set up to serve an AI-first product organisation. * Be the BU's partner, not their gatekeeper. Build the trust model with BU product leaders so they come to platform early, contribute clearly, and don't route around you. Your success metric is BU autonomy, not platform output. * Define and own platform ROI. If a platform capability isn't making BUs faster or the business more efficient, that's a prioritisation failure. Own the metrics that prove platform value and act on them when they don't. * Lead your group owners. High-autonomy builders working across technical, infrastructure-adjacent domains. Set the bar, give them a vision sharp enough to act on, and create the conditions where ambitious work and fast execution coexist. YOUR PROFILE: * You've led platform or infrastructure product at a scaling tech company and delivered results under real engineering and commercial pressure. You've owned complex, multi-stakeholder product areas and managed group owners or tech leads, not a single feature stream. * You've built strong technical foundations. You're credible in service ownership conversations, API strategy, and platform reliability trade-offs without needing an engineering co-pilot. * You're fluent in AI-native tooling: MCP, APIs, SDKs. You understand how AI-first organisations consume platform capabilities and you can set the platform up to serve them. * You've worked with inner source or platform-as-a-service models before and you know the difference between shipping the model and making it work efficiently. * You have a high coordination threshold. Multiple internal customers with competing demands is the job, not the exception. You thrive in that, you don't endure it. * You measure platform success in BU velocity and ROI, not feature throughput or ticket closure rate. * You have capacity planning instincts. You know when a team is over-invested relative to demand and you make the reallocation call without being asked. * You've built genuine trust with internal customers. BU leaders come to you early because it makes their work easier, not because they have to. * You are genuinely AI-native. You use AI in your own practice daily: workflows, coding assistants, real problems. It's a way of working, not a feature to ship. * You're fluent in English. WHY TAXFIX? * A chance to do meaningful, people-centric work with an international team of passionate professionals. * Holistic well-being with free mental health coaching sessions and yoga. * A monthly allowance to spend on an extensive range of services that you can use and roll over as flexibly as you like. * Employee stock options for all employees—because everyone deserves to benefit from the success they help to create. * 30 annual vacation days and flexible working hours. * Work from abroad for up to six weeks every year. Just align with your team, and then enjoy your trip. * Plenty of opportunities to socialise as a team. In addition to internal tech meetups, our international team hosts regular get-togethers—virtually and in person when possible. * Free tax declaration filing, of course, through the Taxfix app—and internal support for all personal tax-related questions. * Have a four-legged friend in your life? We’re happy to have dogs join us in the office. Excited? So are we. Learn more about Team Taxfix on our blog and get a glimpse of our culture. Our latest €105M funding round in March 2026 - led by Sapphire and Tencent - serves as a massive catalyst for our growth, allowing us to offer premier investment experience. ABOUT THE ROLE: As Upvest enters the next stage of growth, we are looking for an exceptional Director/Head of of Data & AI. You will work closely with Mislav Ilich (Product Director), Roberto Fajardo (SVP Engineering) and Martin Kassing(CEO), owning topics critical to Upvest's product and business success: TURN UPVEST'S DATA INTO A STRATEGIC PRODUCT FOUNDATION: Upvest is live across 20+ markets and serves over 2 million users, generating vast volumes of transactional, market, and client data. Today, this data's full potential remains untapped. Your first mission is to define and drive a data product strategy that transforms this asset into a competitive differentiator for our clients, our internal teams, and our regulators. You will establish a clear vision for how Upvest's data creates value: through client-facing insights, internal intelligence, and productised data capabilities embedded within the Investment API. You will set strategy, direction and partner closely with engineering and analytics to build the right foundations. SHIP AI PRODUCTS THAT SOLVE REAL PROBLEMS: AI is a core lever for scaling Upvest's platform, serving clients better, and building meaningful differentiation in the European investment infrastructure market. As Director of Data & AI, you will own the AI product roadmap end-to-end: identifying the highest-impact use cases, prioritising ruthlessly and driving them through to production. Whether deploying LLM-powered tooling for internal operations, building intelligent features into the Investment API, or enabling real-time risk and compliance signals — you will translate AI capability into productised value with clear ROI. You will help ship world class AI systems that are operationally robust and commercially meaningful in a regulated environment. BUILD AND LEAD A WORLD-CLASS DATA & AI PRODUCT FUNCTION: Upvest has highly capable data and analytics teams ready to be unlocked. Your mission is to give them the product leadership, direction, and strategic clarity they need to do their best work. You will define the operating model for the Data & AI product function — setting standards for discovery, delivery, and stakeholder alignment across Engineering, Compliance, Risk, Finance, and Product. You will be a builder and a multiplier: attracting great talent, coaching your team, and creating a culture of ownership and high standards. You will be the voice of data and AI in product and engineering leadership translating a technical vision into a clear, executable strategy that earns trust across the organisation and with our executive team. WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT FROM THIS ROLE: * Significant impact & strategic influence: End-to-end ownership of the Data & AI product function, directly shaping our product roadmap and business strategy. A seat at the table with engineering and product leadership. * Autonomy coupled with inspirational leadership: When we say empowered teams we mean it. In this role you will fully own product success with your teams — with your manager and senior leadership ready to support you at all times. * Product Engineering culture: Teams are working together guided by joint OKRs and a clear roadmap. Collaborate closely with your engineering counterparts to deliver client value in a decoupled and dynamic manner. * An exceptional team: Upvest is one of a kind when it comes to combining impactful work with a relaxed and fun atmosphere. We have established strong practices around feedback, team health and social events resulting in consistently high eNPS. * Continuous learning: The complex yet fascinating field of investments, building an API product on a state-of-the-art tech stack, and working with the most relevant fintechs and financial institutions provide for an incredibly rewarding learning experience. ROLE REQUIREMENTS * 7+ years in product and data management, with significant experience owning data, analytics, data science or AI products in B2B environments. * Proven track record in a regulated fintech, finance, or banking environment, with a deep understanding of API-first SaaS products. * Be a sponge! We don't need you to be a trading industry expert. But you will need to quickly absorb complex domains (e.g. data contracts, lakehouse architecture, MLOps) and combine that with your product management expertise. * Experience translating AI/ML capabilities including LLMs and ML systems into productised value with measurable ROI. * Fluency in modern data stacks: you don't need to build them, but you need to understand what they enable and how to prioritise investment (e.g. Kafka, Spark, Flink, Airflow, Dagster, Lakehouse/Warehouse patterns, MLOps). * Demonstrated ability to define and own a data and AI product roadmap with clear business outcomes. * Strong command of modern product toolkits: continuous discovery, outcome-focused roadmaps, OKRs, and fast validation cycles. * Proven experience creating cross-functional alignment across Engineering, Compliance, Risk, Finance, and senior leadership. * Experience building and scaling inclusive, high-performing product or data teams. HOW WE UPVEST IN YOU * Best-in-class AI tools: Every Upvenger has €20,000 per year to spend on the best AI tools available — so you're always working with the most powerful models and tooling on the market. * Work with experts: Join a mission-driven engineering team solving hard, real-world problems at the intersection of AI and regulated financial infrastructure. * Professional development: Access an annual budget of €1,500 for personal and professional training to master your craft. * Wellbeing: Recharge with 30 days of annual leave and maintain a healthy lifestyle with sports benefits. OUR VALUES: * Make it easy for others. We simplify the complex and act with the best intentions. * Own the outcome. We are proactive, fast and confident to get the job done, valuing progress over perfection. * Rise to the challenge. We aim high and push the boundaries. We stay curious, learn and celebrate our wins together. * Tell the story. We start with the Why to align on purpose. We are transparent and share knowledge to empower and inspire others. Upvest is an equal opportunity employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees.
