THE ROLE AND OPPORTUNITY  Our development team is composed of multiple squads, each taking ownership of a vertical within our product. Each squad is composed of a product manager, frontend and backend engineers.  Our front-end stack is built on React with Typescript and leveraging microfrontend deployments. Our backend stack is powered by Golang, providing REST and GraphQL APIs. We are looking for a product minded engineer who wants to deliver meaningful features to our end users. You’ll be a part of a multidisciplinary product engineering team and can collaborate closely with other backend engineers, frontend engineers, product, design and devops.  As the company continues to scale, there will be opportunities to be involved in the technical architecture and strategy for our products and tech stack. About you Problem solver at heart with an analytical mindset You should be someone who gets excited by complex problems and can find creative ways to solve them no matter what your level of knowledge and experience with the subject matter. You should be able to digest complexity and develop a plan to move forward, without losing sight of the important details. Excellent technical knowledge As an Engineer, you should be an expert in at least one aspect of software development and skilled in other areas. You have learned that delivering great software takes a team and has plenty of pitfalls to avoid. Knowledge and experience required * 3+ years’ expertise in software development using strongly-typed languages (e.g. Go, Java, or similar), with at least 1+ year of commercial experience using Golang. * Product-engineering experience (e.g. solving customer problems, delivering on business goals, working with product managers and frontend teams) with Golang. * Strong experience writing easily-testable and thoroughly-tested code * Data modelling and DB design experience with SQL or NoSQL DBs * Experience delivering cloud-based REST or GraphQL API solutions * Empathetic, proactive and constructive communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across teams * Able to work three days a week onsite at our London office in 33 Holborn, EC1N 2HT  Nice to have (but not essential) * Microservice and integrating distributed systems with messaging and event-driven architectures  * AWS Architecture experience * Experience using Terraform, or other infrastructure as code tooling * Educated to Bachelor's or Master's degree level in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field In return we offer a base salary of £65,000 to £80,000 DOE + benefits  We want people to grow here, to feel supported and to feel proud of the impact they make! We: * Have single and multi tenant deployments across Europe, United States and Australia * Have infrastructure deployed on AWS and GCP * Manage our infrastructure as code, using terraform * Use third party systems such us circleci, datadog, auth0, thoughspot * Have the mid-term requirement to scale, and the short-term requirement to deliver really fast, so this engineer will need to have good intuition on the level of complexity our systems need.
