Software Engineer within Automotive

Do you want to work on automotive software where correctness, timing and safety actually matter? At Knowit Connectivity, we work with embedded systems in areas like ADAS, electrification and connected vehicles. Our projects typically involve safety-critical functionality, complex system interactions and real constraints on performance and reliability. We are now looking for a senior software engineer who wants to work close to the technology and take responsibility in technically demanding environments. What you’ll work on Depending on the project, you might: Develop safety-critical software in C/C++ for embedded systems Work close to the OS layer using RTOS, Linux or QNX Debug and optimize systems where timing and resource constraints are critical Collaborate with system engineers, testers and hardware teams to ensure end-to-end functionality Contribute to architecture, design decisions and technical direction Many of our assignments involve standards such as AUTOSAR and ASPICE, where traceability, testing and quality are integral parts of the development. What we’re looking for You likely have several years of experience working with embedded or automotive software and are comfortable working in complex systems. We think you: Have solid experience in C/C++ Understand embedded systems and low-level behavior Have worked with RTOS, Linux or similar environments Are used to working with quality requirements, testing and structured development processes Can collaborate across roles and communicate technical trade-offs Experience with AUTOSAR, ASPICE, automotive communication protocols or tools like Vector is valuable. Knowledge of Rust is a plus. Fluency in Swedish is beneficial depending on the project. Why Knowit Connectivity? Want to work with automotive development – but not expected to know everything? At Knowit Connectivity, we’re growing within Automotive and are looking for more engineers to join us. What we’ve learned is that great people don’t always fit into one single box – so instead of looking for one “perfect” profile, we’re interested in people with different kinds of experience. Maybe you enjoy working close to the hardware with C/C++ in embedded systems. Maybe you prefer model-based development in Simulink. Or maybe testing, verification, or system-level work is where you feel at home. We’d like to hear from you regardless. About the role As a consultant with us, you’ll be part of a team where collaboration and knowledge sharing are important. Our projects vary, and so does the way we work – sometimes onsite with the customer, sometimes in-house, sometimes remote. We’re mainly working with customers in the Stockholm region within Automotive. We put a strong focus on competence development – not just through courses, but by building knowledge together. We want you to grow in your role and stay relevant over time. Right now, we’re putting extra focus on areas like AI and how it can be applied within automotive and embedded systems. This isn’t just something we talk about – it’s something we actively explore in our projects and internally, and you’ll have the opportunity to be part of that journey. We think you might have experience in things like: C/C++ or model-based development (Simulink) Embedded systems and/or Linux Testing (unit, integration, system) or verification Automotive standards like ISO26262 or A-SPICE It’s great if you also know things like CAN, Autosar, Python or real-time systems – but it’s not a must. Who you are You probably enjoy working together with others, take responsibility for your work, and are curious about learning new things. You have an interest in how technology is evolving and are open to exploring new areas, We also think you like sharing knowledge with others and contributing to a team where people learn from each other.
