About the role: We are looking for a Senior Data Scientist in image analysis to join Navinci and build scalable, automated pipelines for spatial interactomics. Proven, hands-on experience in developing and applying deep learning models, using machine learning frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, Scikit-learn). This is a permanent position based at our HQ, located at the campus of Stockholm University (Stockholm, Sweden). We are seeking for an engineer with strong data analysis and scientific programming experience to develop our DNA sequencing data analysis pipeline. The role combines algorithm development, image analysis, and scientific data exploration, working closely with our instrumentation and biochemistry teams. The work involves analyzing experimental data from our microscopy-based sequencing platform and developing the automated analysis pipeline that converts raw microscopy data into DNA sequencing results. The position is part of a multidisciplinary team developing a prototype DNA sequencing instrument combining microscopy, microfluidics, nanofabrication and advanced data analysis. Initial Project The initial assignment will be to continuously analyze the latest experimental data from the lab in close collaboration with the biochemistry and instrument teams. This means developing new analysis algorithms, critically reviewing results together with the team, and driving experiment design to better address the research questions. Projektet bygger på ett nära samarbete med forskare vid Institutionen för immunologi, genetik och patologi (IGP) vid Uppsala universitet samt SciLifeLab, den nationella infrastrukturen för life science. Projektbeskrivning Immunterapi har blivit ett livräddande alternativ för patienter med långt framskriden cancer. Det är dock bara en minoritet av patienterna som utvecklar ett varaktigt svar. Många forskare arbetar för att bättre förstå komplexiteten i anti-cancerimmunitet och utveckla diagnostiska metoder som exakt förutsäger behandlingens nytta och möjliggör individanpassad cancerbehandlingsplanering. Moderna AI-baserade metoder är essentiella för att föra denna forskningsfront framåt. Detta projekt är en viktig del av vårt bredare initiativ för att utveckla och använda innovativa, tolkningsbara datadrivna analysmetoder för att avsevärt öka vår förståelse för hur immuncellers inbördes relationer påverkar cancerns mikromiljö. Vi kommer att tillämpa dessa analysmetoder på höginformativa multimodala mikroskopidata och utveckla tekniker för att integrera korrelerad strukturell och molekylär analys i den tredimensionella vävnadsrymden. Denna integration kommer att möjliggöra förbättrad prediktion av sjukdomsprogression och respons på specifika behandlingar. Arbetsuppgifter Doktoranden kommer främst att ägna sig åt den egna forskarutbildningen. Övrig tjänstgöring vid institutionen, som avser undervisning och administrativt arbete, kan ingå inom ramen för anställningen (max 20%). ABOUT THE TEAM The Cyber Security Engineering team defines and validates security standards across EQT's technology landscape. A Vision Automation Engineer in a cell manufacturing company plays a key role in developing, optimizing, reverse-engineering, and maintaining machine vision and optical inspection systems to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations. They are responsible for programming, troubleshooting, and improving cameras, lighting configurations, and image processing algorithms, supporting both legacy production line re-commissioning and new vision system installations.
