HW Systems Engineering As a HW Systems Engineer, you may be part of a subsystem team responsible for developing core components of advanced technical systems. Project description The project aims to develop models that describe how HVDC installations affect, and are af-fected by, power quality in electrical networks up to 150 kHz. Measurements will be used to further develop existing models and to distinguish between primary and secondary emissions as well as nonlinear interactions. The results will provide the basis for a generalized model of emission and immunity related to HVDC installations.The study will also investigate network resonances, interactions between multiple HVDC in-stallations, and the effects on transformers and other grid-connected equipment. The project is carried out in collaboration between Luleå University of Technology (LTU) and Hitachi Energy. Duties A PhD position involves both theoretical and practical work. As a doctoral student, you will be trained in scientific research through the publication of journal articles and presentations at national and international conferences. You will also complete both mandatory and elective doctoral courses. In addition, you may have the opportunity to gain teaching experience. The opportunity HVDC (High Voltage Direct Current) is a product group within Hitachi Energy that develops, manufactures, and sells DC transmission systems on a global market. As a Senior DSP Developer for Dirac Live within Home & Pro, you will implement, refine, test, and evaluate the algorithms at the core of our products: estimation of acoustic systems from measurements, and design of correction filters for calibration and optimization of loudspeakers in real rooms. The team's focus is on productization and continuous improvement of these algorithms, turning them into robust, high-quality features in shipping products. You should be comfortable discussing practical DSP trade-offs, such as when to choose an FIR filter over an IIR filter, how magnitude and phase response affect timing, ringing, group delay, and latency, and how to reason about systems in both time and frequency domain. Assignment We are looking for a requirement engineer to work with our in-house developed battery and thermal control systems for electrified vehicles. You will be part of a global agile team of 8 skilled and passionate colleagues. Your main work will be writing requirements on system level. The work is characterized by networking and collaboration with other team members but also other competences in our organization. You will perform own deliveries as well as supporting the organization with your competence in requirement topics. Our organization is highly focusing on AI usage and the role can potentially (not a must), for the right candidate, be combined with part time work on developing and prototyping tools that solve engineering problems and improve team productivity, not only within this area of competence. Your profile You have a master degree in computer science, information technology, engineering physics or equivalent and +5 years of experience from working with vehicle embedded systems. Previous experience from working as a requirement engineer is required, and other experience from working as a system engineer, software developer or test developer is meritorious as well as domain knowledge in battery and thermal control systems. Knowledge in functional safety (ISO26262) is also meritorious. Curiosity in AI developing AI agents and LLM-based solutions, with solid Python programming skills to build automations, integrate APIs, and rapidly prototype tools. You are comfortable with taking lead in the work and enjoy involving your colleagues.
