As Analytical Chemist you are responsible for the development, validation, and implementation of analytical methods for analysing incoming material, intermediate and finalized products for Research & Development, Production, and external suppliers on a wide range of instruments. Strict adherence to the principles of Quality Assurance, Quality Control, and Quality Management System requirements (ISO 9001, IATF 16949, ISO- IEC 17025, etc.). Proven track record in statistical analysis and measurement system analysis (MSA). Participating in problem solving, technical troubleshooting exercises, and technical discussions where needed. Mentoring and training for technicians.
Key responsibilities (not limited to)
Develop, validate and document analytical methods and procedures for analyzing and characterizing new incoming and raw materials and product intermediates.
Optimize analytical methods to increase efficiency and turn-around time of the laboratory.
Execute the Quality Control and testing plan of raw materials and product intermediates.
Troubleshoot and maintain the analytical instruments to a high standard.
Understand and internalize QA/QC principles in everyday functions.
Work across many parts of the organization, collaborating with production teams, Process engineering in R&D and production, Supply Chain, IT & automation.
Start-up of first analytical methods and instruments.
Specific expertise in ICP-OES/MS, ED-XRF, XRD, SEM-EDX, Titration, TGA/DSC, etc.
Qualifications/education/experience
MSc or PhD degree in Chemistry, preferably, Analytical Chemistry.
5+ years of relevant work experience in a laboratory environment.
Specific knowledge of quality management systems, e.g. ISO 9001, IATF 16949, and ISO- IEC 17025.
Experience in developing and validating analytical methods, standards, procedures and documentation in an efficient way.
Project management skills and a successful track record of leading quality projects in a laboratory environment.
Knowledgeable in Lean and six sigma.
Familiar with SPC, FMEA, Quality troubleshooting tools and problem-solving methodology.
Curious, technically educated and preferably with a strong business background.

Stay informed on advancements in Li battery materials, analysis techniques, and relevant industry standards. Execute assigned evaluation and analysis tasks in consultation with senior engineers and contribute to achieving project milestones. Qualifications and Experience BSc or MSc in Chemical/Material/Electrical Engineering, and Chemistry. Experience and good understanding in evaluation, testing, or analysis of Li battery cells or related materials. Proficiency in analytical and electrochemical testing methods (e.g., EIS, charge/discharge cycling, material characterization). Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to data integrity and reproducibility. Effective communication and collaboration skills within a multidisciplinary R&D environment. Specific skills Hands-on experience with electrochemical testing (charge/discharge, EIS, CV). Proficiency in data analysis tools (Excel, Origin, Python preferred). Familiarity with material characterization techniques (XRD, SEM, ICP). Understanding of laboratory QA/QC principles. Ability to follow established test protocols with precision and consistency. Lyten Sweden is seeking a professional and experienced Principal Engineer withing Manufacturing Engineering function. The Principal Engineer is a senior technical leader responsible for defining, scaling, and optimizing manufacturing processes across one or multiple process areas. This role provides strategic direction, technical authority, and mentorship while driving the process development of next-generation battery technology. The Principal Engineer leads complex, high-impact initiatives from concept through industrialization, including process design, equipment strategy, and factory integration. Acting as a key interface between R&D, operations, quality, and external partners, the role ensures robust, scalable, and cost-efficient manufacturing solutions that support production ramp-up and long-term operational excellence. In addition to hands-on technical contribution, the Principal Engineer establishes engineering standards, drives cross-site alignment, and shapes the technology roadmap for manufacturing processes. Key Responsibilities Technical Leadership & Strategy Define and own process technology strategy and roadmap for assigned manufacturing areas. Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) and technical authority across multiple process domains. Establish engineering standards, best practices, and design guidelines across the organization. Drive alignment between R&D, manufacturing, and supply chain to ensure scalable process development. Process & Equipment Development Lead the development of advanced process and equipment specifications for new and existing manufacturing systems. Equipment Lifecycle Management Provide leadership and governance for installation, commissioning, and validation (IQ/OQ/PQ) of manufacturing equipment. Operational Excellence & Continuous Improvement Identify and lead high-impact continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, and other methodologies. Drive improvements in yield, throughput, cost, and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE). Establish and track process capability metrics and KPIs across production lines and sites. Troubleshooting & Advanced Problem Solving Lead complex root cause analysis (RCA) efforts, including 8D and A3 methodologies, for critical process or equipment failures. Provide hands-on expertise for resolution of escalated manufacturing challenges. Implement robust corrective and preventive actions to eliminate recurrence. Data Analysis & Digitalization Leverage Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), advanced analytics, and statistical tools to monitor performance and drive optimization. Governance & Documentation Approve and govern process documentation, including SOPs, work instructions, and equipment documentation. Experience with data analysis using scripting languages such as Python or Matlab.
