You'll be responsible for managing gifted engineers and critical projects on our team. In addition, you play an important role in overseeing architecture and implementation decisions as well as strategies to address technical debt in the existing legacy system. In this role, you will act as a technical leader, developer, adviser, troubleshooter and analyst, and draw on your broad knowledge of software development to assist with a wide variety of technical challenges. A flexible mindset, good communication skills and a willingness to collaborate with cross-domain SDMs and engineers are also important. Responsibilities: · Work with key stakeholders to design and build a solid and extensible system architecture to effectively empower the business initiatives and engineering productivity. · Lead and manage an engineering team, ensuring the teams are following industry best. practices and is working efficiently and effectively to deliver high-quality software products and services. · Build cohesive technical strategic plans to accomplish business objectives, identify specific areas of risk and opportunity, and formulate goals and milestones that will enable us to achieve those objectives. · Lead Ensure the teams are following industry best practices and is working efficiently and effectively to deliver high-quality software products and services. · Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as Cross-Domain, Product Management, Quality Assurance, and Operation, to ensure the development team is aligned with the company's overall goals and objectives. Required Qualifications: · At least 10 years of experience in software engineering, preferably in customer-oriented application and system, with a proven track record of success. · Strong technical background with the ability to understand and discuss complex technical systems, architecture & design, and proficient in navigating them. Experienced as an architect or chief architect is highly desirable. · Proven experience in leading and managing engineering teams on at least one big challenging project. · Must be able to make informed decisions regarding the selection and implementation of appropriate technologies and roadmap. · Demonstrated leadership capabilities with a focus on driving results, fostering collaboration, and inspiring teams to achieve ambitious goals. · Passionate about growing careers and mentoring engineers across both the individual contributor and manager tracks. You will collaborate closely with Product & Business peers to break tradeoffs between growth and profitability.   Key Responsibilities * Provide leadership and technical direction to the engineering organizations and ensure that our engineers are working on building scalable, extendable and fault-tolerant systems * Hire experienced individual contributors to grow a high performance and impact-driven organization * Be a thought leader and collaborate closely with Business, Product & Engineering leaders to identify opportunities to drive business growth and improve efficiencies across various aspects of the business * Drive mission critical projects in collaboration with various stakeholders and engineering leaders to solve complex business problems * Dive deep to solve critical system issues. Ideally identify them before they happen and device plan to address them * Foster a culture that continuously innovates through frequent product iterations (Agile/Scrum) and help the team develop their Agile practices further * Drive and improve the operational excellence of your organization. Own definition, measurement, and reporting of operational metrics for your products & services * Develop, mentor, and coach managers and tech leaders on career development and professional growth   Minimum Qualifications * 12+ years of industry experience of increasing responsibility leading engineering teams * 5+ years of experience in managing software development with hands-on architectural experience in delivering innovative products and mission critical systems. * Demonstrated experience in creating a vision, influencing cross-functionally and driving a technology organization to meet ambitious goals * Experience leading global distributed teams, with exceptional abilities to attract, recruit, retain andscale a high-performance engineering organization * Hands on technical skills in designing, building and delivering scalable and highly available products& services. Experience working in Java stack, AWS cloud and big data * Strong sense of ownership, urgency, and drive. High on bias for action * Strong verbal and written communication skills * Bachelor/Master/PhD in Computer Science or Engineering, or related field   Type of work model  * Hybrid - Our Hybrid work model: Coupang hybrid work model is designed to enable a culture of collaboration that acts a catalyst to enrich the experience of employees. Employees are required to work at least 3 days in the office per week, with the flexibility to work from home 2 days a week, depending on the role requirement.
