Company Overview Mindpeak is a Hamburg-based scale-up at the forefront of AI-driven cancer diagnostics. Our software helps pathologists analyze medical images more efficiently and accurately - already clinically deployed in more than 25 countries. Our vision is to enable personalized and effective treatment for every cancer patient - to truly improve medical care and patient outcomes around the world. Position Summary Role: Senior Medical Project Manager We are looking for a Senior Medical Project Manager who acts as the execution engine for Mindpeak's pharmaceutical partnerships. In this role, you bridge the gap between complex biological science and high-speed data and software delivery. You take full end-to-end ownership of our most important projects, and you are equally comfortable leading a Pharma collaboration, a diagnostic deployment project, or virtually any other initiative. You don't just keep things on track, you push them towards and across the finish line. Your Mission Your mission is to turn complex project requirements into reliable, scalable execution. You are not just a coordinator but an operational architect — building the backbone of our partnership delivery, introducing standardized workflows, and driving their execution at scale. You don't just follow process, you improve it, and you're comfortable bending your own rules when pragmatism beats procedure. When things go wrong, you don't make excuses or over-promise to keep the peace. Even without perfect certainty, you identify the solution that will most likely fix the problem, you commit to it, and you execute. No excuses, no delays. This means: * Driving High-Stakes Projects: Leading pharma partnerships with zero hand-holding and full accountability for results. * Scaling Operations: Reducing onboarding times and automating repetitive tasks, including through AI-driven process improvements. * Bridging Science & Tech: Translating clinical, pathology, and molecular biology requirements into clear, execution-ready specifications for engineering. * Leading People: Coaching and upskilling Junior PMs, reporting directly to senior leadership on project status and outcomes, and being a trusted, respected presence across the whole company. * Maintaining Excellence: Delivering high quality while navigating the pressure and ambiguity of a fast-growing AI scale-up. What You'll Do Project Governance & Execution * Lead the end-to-end delivery of high-priority pharmaceutical and clinical projects, acting as an autonomous agent in solving bottlenecks. * Identify red flags (data bottlenecks, regulatory hurdles, resourcing gaps) weeks in advance and implement mitigation plans. * Take decisions without complete evidence when needed, and be able to defend them clearly to stakeholders. Internal and External Stakeholder Architecture * Act as the trusted, confident face to the customer alongside Junior PMs, and as executive counterpart to mid-senior client personnel. * Navigate difficult conversations about delays, limitations, or feature-creep — reading each stakeholder accurately and adapting your approach to defuse tension, winning trust and goodwill without over-delivering or over-promising. * Bring a genuinely winning, professional presence that leaves stakeholders confident the project is in good hands, and use it to actively identify and prepare upsell opportunities. * Build strong internal working relationships across the entire company, including the resilience to make unpopular decisions or requests when needed. Process Engineering & Scalability * Identify inefficiencies across workstreams and introduce standardized documentation, tools, and PM frameworks to reduce manual overhead. * Bring creative, innovative approaches — including AI automation — to recurring operational problems. Your Profile Science-Tech Hybrid: Degree in Biology, Molecular Biology, Biomedical Sciences, Medicine, or related field, combined with genuine technical/medical understanding. PhD is desired. Proven PM Toolkit: Solid professional experience in project or account management, ideally in Biotech, Pharma, or MedTech. Track record of taking messy, failing, or undefined projects mid-flight and engineering them into structured, successful outcomes. Communication: Confident, clear communicator who reads the audience's level of knowledge and adjusts accordingly; strong in negotiating with and presenting to senior external stakeholders. Genuinely well-liked and trusted across a wide range of external stakeholders and internal colleagues across functions. Execution and Efficiency Drive: Proactive, focused, solution-oriented — you get things done and lead your team to success rather than waiting for instructions. When faced with problems, your first instinct is to ask sharp, targeted, and uncomfortable questions until you find the root cause. You do not deploy generic frameworks to solve problems you don't yet understand. You are intensely frustrated by manual tasks, inefficiency, and disorganization. Sound Judgment: Able to rapidly understand, deconstruct and structure complex thoughts and situations, read people and situations well, and make confident calls under uncertainty. Resilience & Adaptability: Comfortable improvising, thrives amid fast-paced and unforeseeable change, and has the thick skin to absorb pushback without losing composure. Business Sense: Understand what drives commercial outcomes and spots opportunities to grow accounts. Based in Hamburg with regular on-site presence. Who This Role Is Not For * Passengers: People who wait for instructions instead of taking the lead. * People-Pleasers: Anyone who resolves conflict by building extra features or over-delivering rather than finding the right, defensible solution. * Pure Academics: Anyone who gets lost in scientific detail and is prone to lose sight of commercial priorities and deadlines. * Checklist Managers: Those who can track tasks but don't grasp the underlying science or technology well enough to lead the conversation. Why Mindpeak * The opportunity to build foundational AI systems that power both clinical cancer diagnostics and data-driven drug development, actively shaping the future of personalized medicine * An open, creative work environment with flat hierarchies and quick decision-making. * Be part of an excellent leadership team that invests in continuous development. * A centrally located Hamburg office with a beautiful view over the harbor.
