About the job This position is needed to build and scale Stytch’s core product as we bring Stytch capabilities to Twilio’s full customer base, delivering secure, developer-first identity experiences. Join the Stytch team at Twilio to shape the next generation of identity products. You’ll build backend systems that power authentication, authorization, and emerging agentic and non-human identity use cases. You’ll partner closely with product and engineering leadership to design and deliver high-impact, customer-facing features, and evolve our platform for Twilio scale. Responsibilities * Build backend product capabilities for Stytch’s identity platform on Twilio—shipping new API surfaces and core authentication flows, including agentic and non-human identity use cases. * Partner with Product and Engineering leadership to set direction, translate customer needs into product capabilities, and deliver high-impact roadmap features. * Collaborate across Twilio and Stytch teams to align on architecture, integrate platform capabilities, and unblock cross-team initiatives. * Operate with deep technical ownership: author design docs, drive key technical decisions, review code, and stay close to the systems you ship. * Build in ambiguity—break down complex problems, make pragmatic tradeoffs, and design developer experiences that delight our customers. * Improve production quality and resilience through strong observability, incident response and remediation. * Mentor and support other engineers through pairing, feedback, and knowledge-sharing, helping raise the team’s technical bar and culture. We are always looking for people who will bring something new to the table!   *Required: * 3+ years experience in designing, building and operating high-scale, mission critical cloud based production systems. * Familiarity with a production-grade code base in a modern programming language, applying best practice coding standards and writing high quality code. * Extensive experience with RESTful API design and development. * Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related industry experience. * Excellent written and verbal communication skills. * Schedule: ability to work non-standard, on-call rotation weekend and holiday hours. Desired: * Familiarity with Go, TypeScript, and DynamoDB * Experience building developer tools or SDKs * Experience building and owning products consumed by paying customers Builder at heart. The estimated pay ranges for this role are as follows: * Based in Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Vermont or Washington D.C. : $116,960 - 146,200. * Based in New York, New Jersey, Washington State, or California (outside of the San Francisco Bay area): $123,760 - 154,700. * Based in the San Francisco Bay area, California: $137,520 - 171,900. * This role may be eligible to participate in Twilio’s equity plan and corporate bonus plan. All roles are generally eligible for the following benefits: health care insurance, 401(k) retirement account, paid sick time, paid personal time off, paid parental leave. The successful candidate’s starting salary will be determined based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as skills, experience, and geographic location. About the job This position is needed to evolve  and maintain fundamental Compute infrastructure, collaborating with a passionate team to enhance the system capabilities. Key responsibilities include develop scalable cloud-native environments, VM orchestration, AWS-ASG Auto Scaling group of EC2 instances, hardened base AMIs, and secure container images while maintaining critical OS libraries. You'll implement solutions for providing robust legacy platform support and cutting-edge cloud-native technologies, all driven by automation and best practices.  Join us in shaping the future of our Compute infrastructure Responsibilities In this role, you’ll: * Collaborate with Tech Leaders, Architects and other Engineers to develop solutions for complex problems in distributed computing and infrastructure management.  * Automate solutions for operational issues, such as monitoring, performance, planning, and disaster response. * Participate in an on-call rotation to support our business-critical infrastructure. * Ensure a high quality implementation by applying Infrastructure as Code industry standards. * Demonstrate effective communication by authoring and reviewing design documents, runbooks, and other service documentation, and keeping a good record of changes in the systems. * Apply Agile methodologies to continuously deliver value to the customers. * Act as point of contact for legacy/new Compute system components. Required: * 2+ years of experience in AWS Cloud infrastructure management. (preferably backend/infrastructure-focused like AMI, EC2, IAM policies/roles, etc.). * Strong ASG (Auto Scaling Groups) knowledge, to design, implement, and support scalable cloud-native environments. * Experience with hardened base AMIs and AL23. * Proficiency with one or more programming languages: like Java or Python (includes SW Arch patterns, clean code, debugging, etc) * Proficient in shell scripting to streamline repetitive tasks and enhance efficiency in operations. * Skills to work independently with multiple global teams, developing, configuring, deploying, and operating the global Twilio Infrastructure Platform, blending operational excellence with development best practices. * Knowledge of container-based application/services. Desired: * Knowledge on deployment tools and frameworks like infrastructure as a code and continuous deployment processes  (ex: Github, Buildkite, Terraform-TFC, ArgoCD, Harness, Cloud network). * Operational experience in complex distributed systems, including experience with SLO/SLAs towards high availability and reliability goals, including tools like DataDog or Phometheus. * Exposure to File Integrity Monitoring (FIM) tools, specifically Falco, and awareness of compliance frameworks (PCI, SOX). * Knowledge in Kubernetes * Experience with Claude AI or similar. Location This role will be remote, but is not eligible to be hired in San Francisco, CA, Oakland, CA, San Jose, CA, or the surrounding areas.
