JOB SUMMARY The Business Analytics, Manager position at The Wine Group is an integral part of the Insights Center of Excellence (COE). The COE supports the organization via three pillar model of 1) Business Intelligence (BI) / Reporting, 2) Training & Adoption and 3) Consulting. This role primarily focuses on Business Intelligence, reporting, training & adoption. In this role, you will work cross-functionally with the broader COE, IT & Commercial organization. A successful candidate will develop a strong understanding of the organization’s decision-making needs & our data infrastructure. You will utilize data from both internal and external sources including 3rd party depletion and syndicated data vendors like Circana, Nielsen, and VIP. You will be responsible for overall data governance to ensure high user trust and adoption of the reporting suite. Working in partnership with the COE leadership you are an integral part of developing the company’s Annual Operating Plan (AOP). Critical thinking, attention to detail & proactiveness are pivotal to success in this role. This role is eligible for remote work. The role reports to the Director of Business Analytics. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Reporting / Visualization - Design, Update and Maintenance * Design & develop a dashboards & suite of reports that is routinely managed, updated, and presented to a wide audience – sales teams, marketing teams, and company leadership. * Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their needs for information and insights and translate that into an intuitive and actionable reporting suite. * Advanced Excel knowledge demonstrating a thorough knowledge of various Mathematic, Logical, Text and Reference formulas. * Advanced proficiency in PowerBI is a must as a modern reporting platform, focusing on report consistency/accuracy, ease of use, and adoption. * Capacity to utilize a combination of DAX and SQL queries while leveraging PowerQuery for report generation and automation. * Drive report adoption through live or virtual trainings, explaining key metric definitions, report capabilities, and analysis outcomes. Data Management * Manage and improve data governance to ensure high levels of data accuracy and instill high levels of trust from the users of the report. * Frequently monitor COE Support system to interpret, investigate, and solve data issues while communicating with end users of status updates. * Requirements include advanced data analysis knowledge utilizing multiple reports/platforms/sources. * Knowledge of basic relational database modeling functions (Fact & Dimension tables, Schemas, Unique keys, and Joins). * Ability to compile data from various sources, understanding granularity differences, and providing an output that provides meaningful analysis. * Partner with IT on developing and enforcing governance policies. * Ability to communicate effectively with the commercial organization in a non-technical manner to gather report requirements, determining data sources, and understanding expected outputs. * Ability to work with IT and 3rd Party Vendors to communicate business requirements using relative data terminology. * Management of 3rd party data sources, including data validation, and product/customer setups. * Organizational Partnership * The ability to prepare and present data in a sales-ready format aligned against business objectives communicated via various stakeholders. * Ability to understand and communicate nuanced information in a concise, efficient executive summary style format to multiple audiences with varying degrees of technical acumen. * Work in partnership with Director of Business Analytics to prepare data for analysis, interpret results and present findings to the commercial organization. * Attend customer meetings as deemed necessary. QUALIFICATIONS * Bachelor’s degree is ideally in a quantitative or technical field. * 5+ years of technical experience in data reporting. * Expert knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite, including PowerBI. * Preference will be given to candidates with knowledge of various data sources in the Consumer-Packaged Goods (CPG) industry like Circana, Nielsen, VIP, etc. * Strong organizational, critical thinking and customer service skills. * Strong attention to detail and commitment to professional integrity. * Able to execute multiple tasks, deadlines, and priorities. * Strong written and verbal communication skills with emphasis on confidentiality, tact, and diplomacy.
