Learn Industry-Leading Skills Develop the technical knowledge and practical skills used by aerospace professionals, including: * Riveting, drilling and reaming * Installation of aircraft hardware and specialty fasteners * Aircraft sealing and torquing * Technical drawing interpretation * Assembly techniques and quality standards * Safe manufacturing practices Duties & Responsibilities * Study and interpret engineering blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to understand assembly requirements * Utilize various hand tools, power tools, and machinery to cut, shape, and form sheet metal components according to specifications * Assemble sheet metal parts and components to create sub-assemblies or finished products, adhering to strict quality standards * Conduct thorough inspections of assembled components to ensure accuracy, quality, and adherence to aerospace industry standards * Use precision measuring instruments to verify dimensions and tolerances, making adjustments as necessary * Safely handle and store sheet metal materials, ensuring proper organization and inventory control * Work closely with other members of the manufacturing team, including engineers and machinists, to achieve seamless integration of sheet metal components into larger assemblies * Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines, contributing to a safe and efficient working environment Education and Professional Qualifications * Completion of a high school diploma or equivalent is required * Any technical or trades qualifications/certificates, or training would be considered an asset * Ability to complete a criminal background check Skills & Experience * Manufacturing, aerospace, warehousing or construction experience is considered an asset * Proficiency in using a variety of hand tools, power tools, and sheet metal fabrication machinery * Ability to interpret and understand drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications * Strong verbal and written communication skills (English) * Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively within a team * Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work * Commitment to maintaining a safe working environment and following all safety guidelines * Must have and maintain the ability to legally work in Canada.
Key Qualifications & Experience. · Vast experience in Aircraft build, Final Assembly, Installation & Modification (Fighter Aircraft jets preferred). · Experience in working on prototype projects. (preferred) · Working closely with Structures, Systems, Stress, Design & Engineering departments. · Strong ability to advise modifications and production issues throughout the process. · Comfortable working on own and in a team environment. · To chair weekly meetings, progress reporting, shortages, engineering issues etc. Education & Professional Background The ideal candidate will possess a technical education. Suitable backgrounds may include: • Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (Avionics or Electrical) • Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering • Electrical or Electronic Engineering • Vocational or technical qualifications in aircraft systems, avionics, or electrical installation • Equivalent combination of education Personal Qualities. · Comfortable working in cross functional teams. · Strong communications skills.
