Ernest is currently in search of a Local Route Delivery Driver (Class A) for our division located in Portland, OR. This is a
full-time position that offers a competitive pay rate, benefits, and a wonderful company culture.
The Route Delivery Driver position duties are to safely deliver our products to customers and make will-call pick-ups from our
vendors. This includes picking orders, loading trucks, unloading trucks, and operating our material handling and delivery
equipment. The Driver’s interaction with our customers, vendors, and fellow employees will help fulfill our company’s commitment
to our customers. Ultimately, this position is the focal point for meeting our customer delivery needs in an efficient and cost
effective manner.

Requirement for the position include: 1 year of road maintenance experience (preferred) Thorough understanding of commercial driver’s laws (weights, endorsements, hours of service, etc.). Primary Responsibilities: * Transport mobile office units to and from customer sites * Confirm delivery/pickup date and time with customer * Maintain delivery vehicle stock material levels * Install and dismantle mobile offices at customer sites * Install/remove foundation anchorage systems * Load/Unload units with foundation materials and entry systems * Complete and maintain daily paperwork as required by branch * Site checks for potential unit deliveries * Compliance with all DOT and state regulations * Order trip transport permits as needed * Notify supervisor when licenses and permits are approaching renewal date * Maintain professional appearance of vehicle * Notify supervisor when service or repairs are required * Coordinate pilot cars as needed * Shop and yard work as assigned by manager (including light building repairs, container repairs and servicing, and maintenance, shop and yard upkeep, etc.) Additional Responsibilities: * Transport 20' and 40' containers to and from customer sites * Load and unload containers using a chain or cable driven system * Complete and maintain daily paperwork as required by branch * Landoll trailer maintenance (Ensure DOT Compliance and functionality) * Notify supervisor when service or repairs are required * Operate a forklift to load and unload containers * Move, stack, and organize container in yard**Complete monthly container inventory** * Sweep and pressure wash containers * Complete basic repairs on containers Requirements: * Valid Class A CDL with 3+ years of experience * Forklift certified or able to achieve certification * Ability to frequently lift and/or move 25 to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds each day. * Ability to drive for up to eight hours per day with frequent stops * Positions one-self in order to work on all areas of the building including bending and stooping. * Ability to work more than 40 hours per week and up to 12 hours per day. * Climbing up and down on ladders and equipment * Work outside in all-weather condition
Description Position at Hood Distribution Hood Distribution is looking for a CDL Truck Driver (Class A or B) for the Pittsburgh, PA facility. Hood Distribution is a wholesale distributor of hardwood lumber, plywood, moldings and related wood products whose customers include cabinet shops, millwork houses, retail lumber yards, and similar businesses. Candidates wishing to be considered for the CDL Truck Driver (Class A or B) position must possess a Valid State’s CDL Class A or B Driver’s License and have a Good Driving Record. Job Responsibilities: Will deliver lumber and building materials to cabinet/millwork shops and lumber dealers. Follow trucking dispatcher/trucking logistics directions, ensuring all trucking deliveries are performed accurately, and in a timely manner. Assist customers with unloading trucks as needed. Ensure all delivered materials are properly loaded onto the trucks and securely fastened for travel in accordance with company standards. Comply with all DOT regulations and ensure a safe working environment is maintained at all times. Assist in the warehouse when no delivery is scheduled. Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements/Qualifications: Must possess a Valid State’s CDL Class A Driver’s License Driving record must be clean/good. Must possess some prior tarping experience, as it relates to truck deliveries. Must be familiar with, and able to operate a forklift as needed, ability to work independently, as well as a team atmosphere.
