ABOUT THE TEAM Revenue and Financial Automation Sub-org within Revenue and Financial Automation: Billing. The Revenue and Financial Automation team at Stripe builds software tools that accelerate the economic and technological growth of global businesses by helping them operationalize their commercial relationships with customers. Our offerings include a billing platform, SaaS analytics, data services, and finance automation products that our customers creatively combine to support various revenue models. WHAT YOU'LL DO We're looking for engineers who want to build the distributed systems, APIs, and backend services that power Stripe's revenue and billing platform. You'll focus on API design and performance, service reliability, and distributed systems challenges, while collaborating across the stack to ship complete solutions for millions of businesses. RESPONSIBILITIES * Scope, architect, and lead technical projects to build and scale distributed backend systems and APIs * Design, build, and maintain reliable, high-performance APIs and backend services * Own service reliability, including setting performance targets and driving improvements across the stack * Debug production issues across distributed services and multiple levels of the stack * Make effective tradeoffs that consider business priorities, system performance, and a sustainable technical foundation * Teach and mentor engineers to grow into the next generation of leaders at Stripe * Partner with engineers and product managers across infrastructure and product teams to deliver well-integrated platform services WHO YOU ARE We're looking for someone who meets the minimum requirements to be considered for the role. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS * 5+ years of industry software engineering experience (does not include internships or co-ops) * Strong coding skills in any programming language (we understand new languages can be learned on the job so our interview process is language agnostic) * Strong collaboration skills, can work across workstreams within your team and contribute to your peers' success * Direct project leadership and mentorship experience. Ability to thrive with a high level of autonomy and responsibility, with an entrepreneurial mindset. * Interest in working as a generalist across varying technologies and stacks to solve problems and delight both internal and external users PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS * Familiarity with event-driven architectures * Experience with subscription management, usage-based billing, or financial reporting systems * Interest in financial infrastructure and how businesses manage their revenue operations

We're looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join Elliptic's Product-Engineering organisation, focusing on data engineering solutions that power our blockchain analytics and intelligence products. This is a hands-on engineering role: as a senior member of the team, you will spend the majority of your time designing, building, and shipping the data platform yourself, while driving the technical direction that ensures it continues to meet the growing demands of blockchain analysis. Challenges include building a blockchain-agnostic solution that scales globally, processing large batch and streaming datasets, and solving complex data processing problems that give our customers deep insights into the flow of value across the crypto ecosystem. As a senior engineer, you will personally design and build data systems that serve as the backbone of all Elliptic products. By collaborating across blockchain, intelligence and product teams, you will deliver innovative features that help the world fight financial crime and increase transparency in the crypto space. WHAT YOU WILL DO * Write, ship, and maintain production code as a hands-on engineer. * Architect, design, and implement large-scale distributed data systems and pipelines. * Contribute to technical decision-making across batch and streaming data solutions. * Collaborate with engineers, product managers, data scientists, and intelligence analysts to build customer-focused products. * Explore and integrate new technologies (e.g. data orchestration or cloud-native tools) to optimise performance and scalability. * Take shared ownership of data systems, from design to deployment and ongoing improvement and support. * Perform thoughtful peer reviews that raise code quality and share best practices across the team. * Contribute to platform-wide initiatives that improve reliability, observability, and cost efficiency. * Help shape the technical roadmap for data engineering across Elliptic. * Leverage and deploy AI and agentic systems to operate more effectively. WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR * Hands-on production experience with Scala and functional programming. * Ability to design, build, and maintain distributed data systems in a cloud-based environment. * Hands-on experience with big data frameworks such as Spark or Databricks. * Knowledge of cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure). * Judgement to balance scalability, performance, and maintainability. * Experience with data modelling and workflow orchestration.
