You'll prospect into relevant accounts, engage and qualify potential customers, and set the tone for the sales cycle. This role offers a great opportunity to refine your prospecting and discovery skills in support of our Commercial and Large Enterprise teams. You will work on a hybrid basis from Munich, Germany and will be reporting to the Manager, Business Development. You Will: * Generate appointments by independently identifying companies and contacts that would be a good fit for our services and making decisions to reach out to them via email, linkedin, cold calling and/or using our other sophisticated software sales tools * Independently create and manage multiple outbound sequence campaigns in our sales engagement platform * Record and document all activity in Salesforce.com * Monitor the social web for opportunities and leads as well as participate in outbound social marketing initiatives * Leverage taught sales techniques to maximise prospect interactions * Maintain high level of activity with the intent to qualify and create exponential sales * Perform other duties as assigned You Have: * Experience selling to the DACH region is highly desirable * Proactive, independent thinker and creative problem solver with high energy/positive attitude * The ability to think critically and make decisions independent of managerial oversight * Salesforce.com or similar CRM experience * Must be able to interact, adapt and communicate with individuals at all levels of the organisation * Desire to learn new skills and build a career in software sales * Ability to thrive in fast-paced startup environment * Strong written and verbal communication skills * Ability to adapt and execute new sales and qualification strategies * Ability to create leads and opportunities from individual prospecting efforts * 1+ years SAAS or relevant sales experience * Sales engagement platforms, Outreach/Salesloft experience * Legally eligible to work in Germany on an ongoing basis * Fluency in German & English is required Smartsheet provides a competitive base salary range for roles that may be hired in different geographic areas we are licensed to operate our business from. Actual compensation is determined by several factors including, but not limited to, level of professional, educational experience, skills, and specific candidate location. In addition, this role will be eligible for a market competitive incentive opportunity. Responsibilities * Take ownership of your outbound prospecting campaigns, using a mix of outreach strategies—such as emails, calls, social selling, and events—to engage prospective clients. * Collaborate closely with a high-performing Account Executive team in the Berlin office, executing targeted prospecting strategies to create high-value opportunities. * Leverage marketing-led demand generation campaigns, identifying and following up with prospects to build relationships and generate leads. * Build a strong sales pipeline for the DACH market, specifically targeting companies with over 200 employees that fit our Ideal Customer Profile. * Proactively identify new niches and create innovative campaign ideas to continuously improve outreach. * Analyse your outreach efforts and campaign results to draw insights and refine future strategies. * Manage a pipeline of potential clients, ensuring consistent coverage to exceed monthly targets and drive sustainable growth. In this role, you will help build qualified pipeline for our Upper Mid-Market segment through targeted outbound, account-based prospecting, multi-touch sequencing, and close collaboration with Marketing and Account Executives. THE QUALITIES YOU'LL NEED FOR A SUCCESSFUL CAREER AT DATAGUARD * 9-15 months’ experience in a BDR, SDR, Inside Sales or similar customer-facing sales role, ideally in B2B SaaS. * A strong understanding of outbound fundamentals, including cold calling, email sequencing, account research, objection handling and qualification. * Confidence engaging with decision-makers and creating meaningful first conversations. * Strong written and verbal communication skills in German and English. * A structured, organized working style with the ability to manage multiple accounts, sequences and priorities. * Commercial curiosity and the ability to understand business challenges, not just book meetings. * Resilience, accountability and a strong drive to achieve ambitious targets. * Comfort using sales tools, CRM systems and modern outbound technologies to improve productivity and quality. * Interest in Security, Compliance, SaaS and AI-enabled sales approaches. * A clear ambition to grow into broader commercial roles, including Account Executive responsibilities over time.
