Are you ready to shape the future of data?
Matillion is the company behind Maia, the AI Data Automation platform.
In the AI economy, demand for data is exploding. Manual data engineering can’t keep up. Maia fixes that by combining 15 years of data expertise with agentic AI to eliminate the manual work that slows data teams down. Organisations like Cisco, DocuSign, and Slack are already using it to deliver real business impact, faster.
We started in Manchester and now we’re global - with teams across the UK, US and India.
We are driven, curious, energetic people who move fast, think big and hold ourselves to a high standard. We’re here to make a dent in the universe bigger than ourselves. And we’re looking for people who want to be part of it.
About the Role
We're Matillion, and we're building Maia, our agentic AI platform that helps data teams design, build and manage pipelines faster and with far less manual effort.
Design at Matillion is about balancing curiosity and a genuine love for innovation with real care for detail and craft. For Product Design, this is a rare opportunity to shape how humans collaborate with AI to solve genuinely complex technical problems. As a Senior Product Designer, you'll own critical product areas, drive strategic design direction and work at the intersection of AI and data engineering; a space where very few interaction standards exist yet. This is meaningful ownership, high-impact craft and a chance to help define what the future of AI-enabled experiences looks like.
We value in person collaboration here, therefore this role will ideally follow our hybrid pattern of 2 days a week in our innovative Manchester office. However, we can be flexible for the right person.
MOVE CITIES FORWARD WITH US At Cabify, we’re working to make cities better places to live. We believe mobility should be more accessible, efficient and sustainable, helping people move through their day with more freedom and fewer barriers. We connect people and businesses with the transport options they need, while working towards a future where cities depend less on private cars and more on shared, smarter ways of moving. There’s still a long way to go, and design has an important role to play in shaping that future. Want to join us? THE DESIGN TEAM The design team sits within Cabify’s Technology area, alongside Engineering, Product and Data. That means we work closely with the teams shaping, building and measuring our products, and that design has a direct voice in decisions that affect both the user experience and business impact. We’re a team of 20 people spread across different locations in Spain, with most of us based in Madrid. The team is organised into three main groups: Product Design, Design System/Web and Core Design. Across all three, we partner closely with technical teams as well as stakeholders in Growth, Business and Marketing, bringing together product, brand, communications, systems and experience. Our work blends execution, craft and collaboration. We design experiences across the Cabify ecosystem, evolve our design system, maintain consistency across our interfaces and brands, and make sure our solutions are grounded in real user needs, business opportunities and meaningful product problems. We also stay close to emerging technologies and ways of working, continuously testing new tools, processes and practices that can help us design better and move smarter. We also have our own design rituals to share knowledge, raise the bar and keep our design culture strong: monthly Design Meetings, quarterly Design Days, weekly critiques and glues, where we align on solutions, spot shared patterns and stay connected as a team. We see ourselves as a high-standards, down-to-earth and committed team, always looking to learn, share and improve together. Designing at Cabify means having autonomy, but also being part of a community that sees design as a collective practice, closely connected to technology, business and everyday life in cities. THE ROLE As a Product Designer at Cabify, you’ll work within the Technology area, partnering closely with Product, Engineering, Data and Research to design experiences that create real impact for the people who use our products and for the company’s goals. Your work will involve understanding complex problems, spotting opportunities, designing clear solutions and bringing them all the way to implementation together with technical teams. We expect you to combine product thinking, design craft, user empathy and business understanding to build solutions that are simple, useful and well executed. The day-to-day life of a Product Designer at Cabify brings together exploration, definition, design, validation and collaboration. You’ll work with Product Managers, Engineering Managers, Software Engineers, Data Scientists, User Researchers and other designers to turn real needs into experiences that improve mobility in our cities. You’ll also be an active part of the design team, contributing to critiques, glues and Design Meetings, sharing learnings, systematising solutions and helping raise the quality of design across the Cabify ecosystem. Some examples of projects you could work on: * Improve key experiences across Rider, Driver or Business. * Redesign critical flows such as sign-up, support, payments or bookings. * Create solutions for companies, fleets and travel managers. * Identify friction points and turn them into improvement opportunities. * Reduce drop-off, increase conversion and improve satisfaction. * Validate decisions together with Data and Research. * Shape viable and scalable solutions with Engineering. * Evolve patterns, components and criteria in the Design System. * Explore new tools, processes and ways of working. * Share knowledge with the wider design team. WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR If you’re interested, we think you could be a great fit if you have: * Strong alignment with our principles. * Interest in a hybrid working model, with 3 days a week from our Madrid office and 2 days working remotely. On top of that, we offer 6 weeks a year to work fully remotely, split into 3 weeks per semester. * The ability to connect features and initiatives, balancing quick wins with more complete experience redesigns. * A mindset for designing proposals that move our metrics in the right direction. * Interest in understanding technology, because it helps us design simpler and more effective solutions. * Curiosity for new tools, processes and ways of designing, especially around AI-driven workflows and new automation capabilities. At Cabify, we provide the space, tools and resources — including access to models and tokens — so the team can explore, learn and create real impact in their work. * A research mindset that helps you make better-informed decisions. * Strong interaction design skills to help people complete tasks in a simple and intuitive way through well-designed interfaces. * The ability to create visual experiences that are not only useful, but also build emotion and connection with our users, shape perception and influence behaviour, ultimately contributing to the business. * Clear and concise communication skills in both English and Spanish language, with the ability to explain design decisions, connect different perspectives and act as a bridge between technical and non-technical disciplines. * The ability to create proposals, documentation and design deliverables that help teams make better decisions, stay aligned and contribute clearly to the company’s strategy. * And most importantly, a humble attitude, motivation to work with a passionate team, and the ability to receive feedback and think critically about your own work. For sure, you don't need to check all the boxes to be a good match. THE OFFER We’re a company full of happy, motivated people and we never want that to change.
