This role would be well suited to a fully qualified Chartered Accountant with an audit background. We have some really exciting challenges coming up like expanding into the European Union, the introduction of Monzo Mobile and Habito to our group, climate change reporting, continuing to grow our customer base, growing our lending business and adding to our marketplace. You’ll work on scaling Monzo in a controlled way, while helping us optimise our financial reporting processes with the help of technology. You’ll join the Finance team and report to our Financial Reporting Manager. 🔑 You’ll play a key role by... * Understanding the business and our products to write insightful management commentary. * Working with our engineers and data teams to automate the production elements of this role, allowing you to focus on the parts of the role where your knowledge and skills provide the most value. * Understanding our accounting system and making sure we are taking advantage of all its features to minimise manual elements of reporting. * Being responsible for ensuring our financial reporting policies, procedures and controls are up to date, relevant and useful for Monzo and importantly are scalable. * Supporting the full year end process, from drafting the annual report to working with external auditors until final sign-off. * Reviewing new products, assessing the accounting and implementing them in our banking platform and accounting system. * Working with the business to assess the impact of changes in accounting standards and make proposals on accounting policy matters for new products launched. * Maintaining existing and develop new controls that protect our financial data and our balance sheet substantiation process * Assisting with the implementation of our new accounting system to make sure we are taking advantage of all its features to minimise manual elements of reporting * Supporting on the production of ESG sustainability reporting and disclosures * Preparing monthly management and adhoc reports, offering meaningful analysis of movements. * Reviewing and assessing the accounting impact of new contracts, working closely with the business and legal team before contracts are signed to establish the correct accounting treatment. * Supporting tight processes with our internal finance team to ensure a swift month-end close process. * Resolving miscellaneous inquiries and supporting the overall finance team wherever needed - from forecasting and valuations, to bank transfers and tax policy research! 🤩 We’d love to hear from you if… * You’re a qualified chartered accountant (ACA or CA) and ideally have audit experience combined with financial reporting and control experience outside of practice. * You have a great eye for detail * You’re fascinated by the banking and regulatory landscape, and have a good understanding of key financial controls * You’re a self-starter and enjoy tackling what needs doing, whether it’s making a bank transfer or pulling together reports for investors * You’re comfortable translating complex information into simple words for people with diverse backgrounds * Highly comfortable with leveraging data to automate reporting and drive efficiency (SQL skills would be a bonus) * You thrive in a dynamic and constantly evolving environment * Nice to have (one or more) * Experience in a listed company or financial services regulated environment. * US reporting/SOX compliance. * Strong business partnering/commercial financial acumen. * ESG reporting/audit of sustainability information (carbon footprint, CFD/CSRD) Not ticking every box? The FP&A team sits at the centre of strategic and commercial decision-making. COMMISSIONS ANALYST We’re seeking a detail-oriented and specialised COMMISSIONS ANALYST to join our UK Finance team and support the centralisation of third-party commission processing and timely payment remittance. The ideal candidate will be responsible for verifying client records for commissionable amounts due, efficiently processing commission payments through our internal systems and effectively communicating the status of commission payments to both internal and external stakeholders via standardised reporting. This role is crucial in managing cash flow and maintaining strong client and agent relationships. The COMMISSIONS ANALYST will report directly to the Director of Finance, UK. What You’ll Do: Daily/Weekly Tasks: * Manage centralised commissions inbox, ensuring timely actioning of inbox items * Execute end-to-end commission processing, ensuring invoiced amounts align with third-party agency agreements * Routinely review subledger data (Salesforce) to identify data inaccuracies driven by either inaccurate data input and/or inaccurate application of agency agreements * Effectively communicate with internal commercial and operations stakeholders to provide real-time updates on the status of event level commissions invoices * Effectively communicate with external agency stakeholders to provide real-time updates on the status of event level commissions invoices * Support weekly Accounts Payable (AP) batch payment runs by reviewing commission invoices for requirements prior to being included in payment runs * Partner with our technology counterparts to utilise system automation to its full potential, by effectively communicating manual work/processes that could be solutioned for differently Monthly: * Support month-end close tasks, including opining on commission invoice data integrity What We Look For: * Strong attention to detail and proficiency in data analysis and management * Proven ability to work with financial systems and financial software, ideally Salesforce and Microsoft Excel * Experience in effectively communicating and ability to resolve payment inquiries with internal and external stakeholders The above job definition information has been designed to indicate the general nature and level of work performed by employees within this classification.
