Nordic Investin has been engaged by a partner company to find a Senior Systems Programmer Rust and C Plus Plus. You are at your
best when performance, memory safety and precise control over system behaviour all matter.
The partner is building a high performance software layer that processes large volumes of data close to the operating system. You
will improve core components, remove bottlenecks and introduce safer patterns without sacrificing throughput.
The environment will suit someone who enjoys building systems, testing assumptions in code and taking responsibility for
production behaviour. Technical choices are expected to be explained in terms of maintainability, reliability and the people who
use the product.
HOW YOU WILL WORK
You will work in short delivery cycles with direct access to product, domain and operational colleagues. The partner expects
engineers to review designs, test assumptions early and follow important changes into production. Decisions should be recorded
clearly enough that another engineer can understand the tradeoff months later.
As a senior colleague, you will own substantial outcomes and help others make stronger decisions. You are expected to recognise
risk early, communicate it without drama and move work forward with practical alternatives. The role still includes hands on
delivery; seniority here means broader judgement, not distance from the work.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Develop performance critical components in Rust and C plus plus.
Profile CPU, memory, allocation and IO behaviour.
Design safe interfaces across language and process boundaries.
Improve concurrency, scheduling and backpressure mechanisms.
Build benchmarks and regression tests around critical paths.
Review low level designs and support production investigations.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING
Deep systems programming experience in Rust, C plus plus or both.
Strong knowledge of memory models, concurrency and operating systems.
Experience with Linux tooling, profiling and debugging.
Ability to reason about performance using evidence.
Understanding of network or storage intensive systems.
Clear English and rigorous technical communication.
EXPERIENCE THAT WOULD ADD VALUE
Kernel, driver or eBPF experience.
High frequency, media, database or networking systems.
Formal methods or safety critical development.
A BACKGROUND THAT CAN SUCCEED HERE
You may have worked on databases, compilers, game engines, telecom infrastructure, cybersecurity agents or industrial platforms.
We value engineers who can zoom from an instruction level problem to the architecture that created it.
