The Software Developer is a member of the HSO Software Engineering Solutions and Quality Assurance team, reporting to the Director, Software Engineering Solutions. The Software Engineering Solutions and Quality Assurance team is a dynamic, cross-functional team comprised of Software Engineers, QA Engineers, and Product Managers who work closely with internal and external parties to build a new digital experience for our users. As a Software Developer, the use of Agile methodology and Scrum is something you embrace! You have a track record of designing and creating great user experiences for end-users. Main Responsibilities: * Staying abreast of current technologies and industry trends—leveraging both front-end (Angular) and back-end stacks to deliver robust solutions. * Finding innovative solutions to any problems that may arise, whether in front-end UI/UX or server-side functionality, leveraging your ability and preparedness. * Using your excellent communication skills to clearly explain technical issues to colleagues and stakeholders with varying levels of technical knowledge. * Designing, implementing, and maintaining software applications, systems, and utilities, spanning UI components in Angular through microservices and databases. * Working collaboratively with other teams to ensure seamless integration of front-end and back-end services, meeting or enhancing service requirements. Currently, many of our projects are built with TypeScript/JavaScript and Node.js. But, Java/Scala/Kotlin, Clojure, and Python are also used. * Strong knowledge of at least one common client-side language and framework. We often use TypeScript/JavaScript and React on our web app projects and Swift, Java/Scala/Kotlin, or TypeScript/JavaScript React-native on mobile. * Relevant skills to create new backend services and build CI/CD pipelines when the project requires. * Foundational knowledge in DevOps, including Continuous Integration (CI), automated deployment, and test automation * Know-how on databases (e.g., PostgreSQL). * To be comfortable engaging with the client stakeholders when needed. * Fluent verbal & written English skills.
