Your work is the unsung hero's story. We’re looking for a “Senior Platform Engineer” (internal title for the Full Stack role) to join us at SYBO and help shape the future of the systems that power our games. You’ll work across backend services, cloud infrastructure, internal tooling, observability, and platform architecture, helping us support millions of daily players while building solutions that can scale across current and future projects - one project at a time. It’s a role with broad ownership, meaningful technical challenges, and the opportunity to influence how one of the world’s biggest mobile game franchises operates behind the scenes. If you enjoy solving complex platform problems, balancing immediate Live Ops needs with long-term architecture, and building systems that millions of players indirectly rely on every day, we’d love to hear from you. RESPONSIBILITIES * Partner closely with the Technical Director to evolve the architecture and technical direction of our platform ecosystem. * Design, build, and operate scalable backend services that power Live Ops, social features, game functionality, and internal platform capabilities. * Modernize and replace legacy systems, creating more robust, flexible, and extensible solutions for future games and teams. * Deliver end-to-end solutions spanning APIs, data models, background services, cloud infrastructure, and web-based tooling. * Own and improve our cloud infrastructure, deployment environments, and platform reliability using modern cloud-native practices. * Strengthen observability across the platform through monitoring, logging, tracing, alerting, and operational excellence. * Participate in the on-call rotation, helping ensure a reliable experience for millions of players around the world. * Collaborate closely with game designers, product managers, analytics, and production to understand requirements and deliver platform solutions that create value across the business. LIFE AT SYBO In your first month… You’ll get fully onboarded into our platform ecosystem, learning how our services, infrastructure, tooling, and deployment environments work together. You’ll gain an understanding of our current capabilities, limitations, and biggest technical challenges while setting up and deploying services across local, development, staging, and production environments. Within 3 months… You’ll have developed a strong understanding of our platform strategy and the systems that powers our games. You’ll contribute to architectural discussions, take ownership of meaningful platform initiatives, and help modernize some of our most important services. By 12 months… You’ll be a trusted technical partner within the platform team, helping shape the future direction of our services and infrastructure. Key modernization efforts will be well underway, platform foundations will be stronger, and observability and operational excellence will be significantly improved. You’ll be part of a team that delivers a healthy platform eco-system that's scalable through our projects - new or old. REQUIREMENTS * Proven experience building, operating, and scaling production backend services that support large-scale applications or products. * Strong understanding of distributed systems, API design, data modeling, and the trade-offs involved in building reliable and scalable platform services. * Experience working with cloud-native infrastructure, containers, orchestration platforms, and infrastructure-as-code technologies. (Our stack includes technologies such as Kubernetes, Terraform, Docker, and Google Cloud Platform, although equivalent experience is equally valuable) * Strong operational mindset with hands-on experience in monitoring, observability, incident response, and production support. * Strong software engineering experience across backend and frontend development, building scalable services and user-friendly web applications. (Experience with Go (Golang) as our primary backend language is highly valued, although we also welcome familiarity with other backend technologies like C#, Python, Rust, or Node.js. On the frontend, experience with React or TypeScript is valued for this role) * Ability to design, document, communicate, and execute technical solutions while collaborating effectively with engineers and non-technical stakeholders. WHY WE NEED YOU Maltego is an Open Source Intelligence (OSINT) and investigative analysis platform used by security professionals, law enforcement, cyber threat intelligence teams, and investigative journalists worldwide. The platform enables users to collect, correlate, and visually analyse data from many disparate sources, turning large and complex datasets into meaningful, actionable intelligence. As a Senior Platform Engineer at Maltego, you can expect to work on a production‑grade, security‑focused SaaS platform with global users and high availability requirements. WHAT TO EXPECT Key responsibilities include: * Operate and support cloud infrastructure (primarily Azure) for a production-grade SaaS platform. * Manage Kubernetes clusters, including event-driven autoscaling and reliability best practices. * Maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and configuration management to ensure repeatable, auditable environments. * Design, operate, and troubleshoot CI/CD—especially Azure Pipelines—to enable continuous delivery. * Optimize build and release pipelines for scalability, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness. * Operate and troubleshoot enterprise platform components (e.g., API gateways, message queues) in line with existing standards. * Build internal platform tools, automations, and self-service capabilities to reduce operational overhead and improve developer experience. * Participate in on-call rotations and collaborate with product/engineering teams on provisioning, automation, lifecycle management, and safe adoption of AI/ML-enabled tooling. YOUR PROFILE IN SHORT * Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent work experience. * 3+ years as a Site Reliability Engineer, DevOps Engineer, or Infrastructure Engineer. * Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud provider (Azure/AWS/GCP). * Experience in operating applications on Kubernetes and integrating tools like Argo CD, Helm, etc. * Practical experience working with applications written in Java, Python, Go, Node, etc. * Coding ability in with one or a similar one of the following: Java, Python, Rust, or Go. * Proficiency in Python and Bash scripting * Understanding Unix/Linux, and optionally Windows operating systems. * Experience working with Infrastructure as Code / Automation tools (Ansible, Terraform). * Experience in managing CI/CD (Azure DevOps, Jenkins, etc.) * Experience with monitoring platforms such as Azure Monitor, Prometheus, and Grafana to comprehend service health and create dashboards; * Understanding of Azure and Hybrid Networking across Kubernetes and Virtualization technology. * Familiarity with data engineering practices and tools.
