As part of our Media Channels Product management team, you will play a pivotal role in revolutionizing how businesses strategise,
execute, scale, and optimize their programmatic / paid social advertising efforts through our Smartly Advertising Platform. Your
contributions will directly impact our client's ability to save time and maximize returns on their advertising investments by
providing a seamless cross-channel experience spanning multiple advertising platforms at scale.
Your role involves shaping the vision and execution of Smartly offering ensuring we have a solid and winning roadmap aligned
across the Smartly platform for 2026 and beyond. You will spearhead the development of our campaign management capability for one
or more advertising channels. You will work tightly with the world’s largest advertisers and advertising platforms having a
direct impact on Smartly revenues and success.
In addition you will define the solution for selected advertising channels, ensuring parts of Smartly platform align to address
advertiser workflows and jobs to be done to drive customer value. You will work tightly with our engineering teams building the
product and you will collaborate with all Smartly product management teams. You engage with our commercial teams and customers

We are looking for a Senior Data Scientist to join the AI Platform Team at Smartly! Our team works on helping marketers make the most of their ad creatives (images, video, text) and campaigns (product and performance data). We build and experiment with AI-based solutions across the media and creative workflows. You will have the opportunity to take ownership of and work on high impact projects. AS A SENIOR DATA SCIENTIST, YOU’LL: * Implement, build, and deploy scalable models and machine learning solutions that enable our users to craft great advertising experiences and campaigns with a focus on maintainability, observability, scalability and stability. * Own projects end-to-end: from problem framing and data exploration to modeling, validation, and monitoring in production. * Work with a large span of datasets from image to video to audio to text to structured performance data. * Analyze large-scale datasets to uncover insights, trends, and opportunities that inform product strategy and customer outcomes. * You’ll work alongside our stellar data scientists, senior machine learning engineers, and software engineers to enable us to productionize AI/ML applications more robustly and efficiently. * Be a core contributor of our team and our ways of working to build high impact products. You’ll actively be involved in work planning, retrospectives, and overall team improvement. * Impact the daily life of the staff of the hundreds of advertisers using Smartly * Work with our stakeholders - be them product, engineering, infrastructure - to ensure we meet customers where they are. Being able to translate business/product needs to viable solutions is a must. * Apply and enhance your soft skills through working closely with your colleagues and our customers. Doing knowledge shares, running productive meetings, and pair programming/debugging are just some ways we grow our soft skills. * Keep up to date with the latest AI innovations, especially in areas such as generative AI, computer vision, natural language processing and explainability. ROLE REQUIREMENTS * Strong experience planning, executing and optimising programmatic campaigns, ideally in an agency or digital media environment. * Hands‑on proficiency with key DSPs (e.g. The Trade Desk, DV360) and audience/data tools. * Experience leading or overseeing programmatic specialists (formal line management or clear senior escalation responsibility). * Solid understanding of programmatic fundamentals: targeting, bidding, inventory buying, optimisation and measurement. * Comfortable working across multiple formats and environments (e.g. display, video, YouTube, CTV, Amazon/retail media, digital OOH). * Strong analytical skills, with the ability to turn data into clear, practical recommendations. * Proven ability to manage budgets and deliver against performance and ROI targets. * Confident communicator, able to educate and influence internal teams and clients on programmatic best practice. * Willingness to work on cross‑market projects, with the bulk of work focused on the UK and US.
